Hi, I remember my father Jose Luis Natal used to go to New York all the time to visit his family. I am Olga E. Natal (maiden name) My Father was from Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. His mother was Sara Figueroa and His father was Jose Luis Natal also. One of his brothers was named Samuel Natal. I wonder if we are related?

Natal, I was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico and My father brought us to San Francisco when i was 3 years old. My mother, me and my sister Rosa. My sister Margarita and my brother Jose were born in San Francisco, along with other brothers and sisters, my Fathers Name was Jose luis Natal, his mother's name was Sara Figueroa and Father's Name Jose Luis Natal. Natal, My Father is Jose Luis Natal, and His Father is Jose Luis Natal, my father's mother's Name is Sara Figueroa, My father had a brother who's name is Samuel Natal and I know he moved back to Puerto Rico, most of our family lives in New york. My mother is Victoria Marcial Natal and I have my brothers and sister most of them live in Chicago. My brother Jose Luis natal is the 3rd one with the name as far as I know. We have Spanish and I believe Portugese in us from the Natal Side. My father Jose Luis Natal passed away in 1989. I hope this helps you i believe you are my cousin.

My great grandmothers name was Appolonia Natal. She married a man..i think his name was Francisco Cuellar. I know definitely he was a Cuellar as that was my grandmothers maiden name. She was from Mexico. My grandmothers name was Luisa. She was born in Rosebud, Texas in 1911. My grandmother had 4 brothers. I can only remember 2 of their names. Abel & Carmen. Carmen married a woman named Victoria in 1922. My grandmother had family that owned a ranch in Lockhart, Texas. She would visit them occasionally. They had a huge family reunion in 1987 which she attended as she was one of the oldest living relatives at the time. Luisa settled in Chicago after marrying David Garcia. She had 3 children, David, Julia & Daniel. Daniel is my father. I know she is somehow connected to the Cuellar's who owned El Chico restaurants as she had one of their menus in her posession. She would show it to me when I was little.
I'm trying to find out anything about her family, her mothers side of the family..anything.

Yo he oido esta historia que dices de los tres hermanos. Mi bisabuela fue Ignacia Toledo y de la Guardia y creo que en el 1900 vivian en Camuy, Puerto Rico. Si no me equivoco, creo que su mama o abuela fue una Nicolasa. Unas de las hermanas de Ignacia fue Brigida y tambien Marcela, y tenian un hermano llamado Enrique. Mi bisabuela pudo haber nacido en ultramar (el viaje de las Canarias o Espana hacia Puerto Rico. Me encantaria saber algo de esta rama de mis antepasados. I stumbled across this page and I don't know if this is information you may be looking for:
1. Father's name Jose Luis Natal Sr., born I believe in Aguadilla
2. My name, Jose Luis Natal Jr., born in San Francisco, CA
3. Mother's father was Diego Marcial, born in Aguadilla, I believe
4. Diego had a farm in Aguadilla that he sold to the military
5. Jose Sr. had one brother's name that I recalled as Samuel.
6. I don't have much more information as I do not know much of my mother's or father's side of the family.

My mother's family is Adorno from Corozal, PR. Her father was Jose Adorno and her grandfather Luis Adorno. I am guessing her father was born in the late 1800's/early 1900s and her grandfather maybe 20-30 years earlier.

Hello Damichelle: Tengo retrazados mis antepasados Natal hasta el año 1640. Sigo tratando de conocer nuestros origenes.
Datos aun no bien documentados situan nuestro origen a una familia Natal o Nadal de origen hebreo, procedente de Aragon que se establecio en el Paramo leones despues de la batalla de las Navas de Tolosa (1212) El rey de Leon no teniendo suficientes huestes para poblar las nuevas tierras conquistadas pidio colonizadores a su aliado el rey de Aragon. Posteriormente los Natal se desplazaron tambien a la Ribera del Orbigo mas propicia a la agricultura en aquellos tiempos, ahi es donde se situan mis origenes (muy bien documentados hasta 1640)

I am a Natal from Utuado and I know we had relatives all over Puerto Rico. My oldest brother's name was Francico Natal Santiago, but he died a long time ago in New York( it was around 1960 or 61 I believe). I think he was about 29 at the time.He would have been about 64 now. He had children that I never met.He had a daughter named Margie or Magie, also had 2 sons,Tony and Frankie all with different mothers.

I may or may not be able to help you with your research. My grandmother's name was Maria Contes born/lived near Arecibo in a town called Barceloneta (originally Barcelona). She was married to Jose A.Contes who was also from the same area. The exact name of the suburb/town they where from was called Palmas Altas (tall palm trees).

While searching for a Luis Natal, my wife accidently came accross your message. My mother is from Aguadilla. I am searching for a Luis Natal who may have been married to my mother for a very short time. Supposenly Luis Natal may have been in the Army (1950's). My mother is currently 69 years old. The story changes from family member to family member. This Luis Natal may have the name of a person my mother knew also from Aguadilla. I just need the holes of the story I've been told filled in. Dear Mr. Natal,

Quite coincidentally, I came across information on a book on Jewish roots. This is quite a large coincidence, since my maternal grandfather was Alvares and I found it on their list of Jewish names, and the surname VIctoria, which has been connected with my family in the past and which I have been researching. The site is www.avotaynu.com and they offer similar surnames, using soundex.

I was looking up something entirely different, unrelated to genealogy, but decided to stop and write a note to the publisher, letting them know I could not afford the book but would ask my library to purchase it, as there seems to be a derth of books on Jewish genealogy at this collection. In a few hours, I received a message stating that they have published a book on Sephardic roots.

Remember, however, that looking middle eastern can denote ancestry from Turkey and people of different religions also left there. People from the area of the Mediterranean have physical similarities. My father can be said to look Jewish or Italian, for example, but he is the result of an admixture of different ethnic groups.

I have just read your message regarding the Natal's and the family Origins in Utuado, PR. My grandmother's name is Pura Maria Natal. She married Miguel Caraballo (also of Utuado). Her father's name was Rumualdo and her mother's name was Maria (I believe Maria's maiden name was Soto). My grandmother moved to Northern (Morristown area) NJ with my grandfather in 1959-1960.

Lei tu reply... y queria comentar sobre su opinion del origen Natal (o por lo menos de su lado Natal) En Tampa, FL USA(donde yo vivo) en el 2000 hubo un reportaje que cojio mi atencio: un muchacho que se llamama Eduardo Natal murio en un tiroteo, pero la cosa es que era un imigrante de Brazil. Usted menciono que el apellido puede venir de Portugues y Brazil era portugues...espero que esto lo ayude en algo.

No se si sera demasiado tarde para contestar, pero hago lo mismo con Ud. que con la Dra. Ana Cristina Oquendo Pabon que por logica parece ser que son hermanos, si no es pura coincidencia. Tambien busco familiares de mi abuela Ana Luisa Pichardo, que procreo una hija llamada Ana Paulina Pichardo de la cual yo soy hija, mi madre murio ya hace 20 años, y he estado buscando a Carmita Pichardo de Pabon, mi tia, desde que vivia en N:Y: en los comienzos del 1963, recibimos una carta con una foto de ella embarazada y una niña como de 5 años a su lado. I'm looking for information on my great great (ahh, alot of greats) grandmother Cornelia Natal. She apparently came over from Spain and married a Rivera (not sure if they married in Spain or if she was in PR before she met and married him) They settled in Utuado and had a daughter Julia Rivera in 1890. If anyone has any information please let me know! I honestly haven't seen any other Cornelia's in all my research (PR-wise) so maybe that might ring a bell. Thanks!

My great-great-great-grandmother, Cornelia Natal came over to PR from Spain, though I have no idea where in Spain. She married a Rivera (don't know his first name), and they had a daughter, Julia. Julia was born around 1890-1891, so I'm assuming Cornelia was born abt. 1870. My great-grandmother was born in Utuado, and so I think that she settled in the Utuado/Jayuya area. So yes, I think the Spain/PR link is strong!
