My great-grandfather was William John Naughton of Limerick County, Ireland. He was born around 1855. I think that his sister was Maria and that they both came to and settled in the New York area. There may have been other siblings who stayed back in Limerick. William John's parents were John Naughton and Ellen Kelly. I think that they came from the area near the town of Hospital.

My great-grandfather, William John Naughton, was born in the 1850's (probably 1852 0r 1853) in Limerick County, Ireland. When he came to the US in the 1880's, he settled in New York City. He died there in 1911.

Hi have found your message just now and hope there is some connection. I am looking for any information or relatives of a William Naughton that was a journalist and died in San Francisco. Apparently he was known as Uncle Bill among the press and worked for the "Examiner" as a sporting editor. My gtgtgtgrandfather was a James Naughton who came out to Australia around 1843 and ended up in New Zealand as commissioner of police in Auckland. He was William's father and also my gtgtgrandmother Maria's father. Maria died young leaving young children. I have other information on the family. I also have info. that William had a son Walter and a daughter Grace. I would dearly love to find out what happened to them as my gtgrandmother tried to contact them years ago but died before she could. Thanks.

I believe my John Naughton also came from Kilmallock Co. Limerick. He moved from there to Donoughmore Co Cork.He married Honora Meehan he died in 1845 and is buried there. I don't his parents names. But I have lots of info on his children.
