Hello

I am Karen Nava, child of JOhn Patrick Nava, son of Kelo Nava and Dorothy Whalan. Kelo's father was Guiseppe (Joseph) Nava, Married to Sarah Auburn. Joseph and Sarah had 4 sons,Joseph Jnr, Thomas, Arcelo (Kelo) and David. Although I believe Guiseppe was not David's father. The family lived in Sydney, mainly Redfern, Annandale and Botany. Does any of this sound familiar? In the 1970's it was my belief that all Nava's in Australia were from Guiseppe's lineage, but that may have changed since. Are you related to the Baby Luca Nava, cremated 5/9/2000 at Eastern Suburbs?

Nava Name

threw my studies and research of the Sephardic Jews taught by Rabbi Ralph Messer (Spanish Heritage in Torah). Trying to find some of the lost tribes of Israel. I really started to find the origins of my family name NAVA. I only went as far back to Mexico. But now as I go further the Name origins are from Spain... but did any other NAVA's find it odd the meaning is Hebrew?? Meaning beautiful- lovely-pleasant.Referring to the plateaus near the mountains? I recommend to do some history research and find what happened to Jews during the Spanish inquisition. Furthermore I found a website called www.Sephardim.com

Our Family Name is listed under N's with a Crest and this following information.

(29) "Sangre Judia" ("Jewish Blood") by Pere Bonnin. A list of 3,500 names used by Jews, or assigned to Jews by the Holy Office (la Santo Oficio) of Spain. The list is a result of a census of Jewish communities of Spain by the Catholic Church and as found in inquisition records.

So my conclusion or better guess without any DNA information is that it is very likely we could hold a small part of Hebrew blood in all of us. If we do, I have a strong feeling we did turn into Conversos - New Christian. And I truly hope you can now see your-self in the bible. Its not just a book with people that don't relate to you... but whom you are a descendant from. God made a promise to you. Praise God and thank you Jesus!

Hi,
I am the son of Andrea Nava and Teodoro Pena of Robstown, Texas. My Mother was the daughter of Andres Nava, who had a half sister name Guadalupe and a half borther by the name of Florenico or Florentno. My Grandpa's Dad was also name Andres, and I think he passed way around 1923 in Robstown, Texas. Does any of this ring any bells?

Teodoro Pena Jr

In my research, I have found that the Nava surname originated from the Northern region of Spain. The Nava Family originated in the Spanish Province of Navarra. Nava comes from a Basque word meaning, "plain near the mountains".
