So sorry because I would really like to know the history connected to them. I will just keep hoping that one day someone will help me solve this mystery. Thanks for responding though!

I have a Stephen Francis Navarre born Sept. 18, 1845, but my data shows probably St. Antoine Parish, River Raisin, Michigan. His dad was David, and mom was Caroline Lacelle.
David was grandson of Robert Navarre II and his wife Mary Louisa Archange Mersac

I wish the writer of the letter that says "sorry, bad English" could send a rewritten version. Some of the understandable parts sounds a bit like my my knowledge of French King Henri IV.

Jeanette Navarre - dob: abt 1770, Louisiana Territories

On the will of one of my ancestors, James "Santiago" Fletcher (b. abt 1770 in Ireland, d. bef 1804) the above name is listed as follows:

I also bequeath and freely give unto my colored son, Peter Fletcher whom I had with Jeanette Navarre a mulattress, I give unto him two thousand dollars to be paid him when at the age of twenty-one, which sum is to be deducted from the whole of my property except my household furniture which I have bequeathed to Catherine Hepp for her proper use.

I also found a baptismal record in the Sacramental Records of St. Louis Cathedral, which shows dob for child, Peter Fletcher as 3/7/1789, & baptisted at Natchez by Fr. Guillermo Savage.

This would make Jeanette born before 1776 (the 1770 is a guess).
I recently bought a photo identified as Margaret Navarre.
I believe this is Margaret Carpenter Styers Navarre. The MO Death Certificate says Margaret was born 5 June 1830 in Quincy, IL. She died at age 88 of malarial fever. The informant was Irene DeSherlia of St. Charles County, MO. She was buried in Calhoun County, IL.

Margaret married Andrew Jackson Styers. Some of her children were George Washington Styers, Andrew, David, Cornelia, and Margaret Styers.

There were a number of unidentified cabinet card photos from Golden Eagle, IL.

Please contact me if you have an interest in this original photo. I believe it was taken in the 1860's.

Kathy@FamilyWeSearch.com

Look no further; you already have her surname. She was a Navarre as well. Lambert and Angeline were cousins. Technically, her name then is Angeline Navarre Navarre. Angeline (27 Feb 1853-25 Dec 1925) was the daughter of Robert T. and Catherine (Gaillard) Navarre. Angeline's sister Maria Archangle Navarre also married a Navarre, Robert R. Navarre (my 2nd great grandparents). Lambert was Peter Navarre's son, while Robert R. was the son of Robert Hutro. The scout brothers Peter, Robert Hutro, Francis, Alexis, Anthony and Moses came to the mouth of the Maumee in 1807 with their father Francoise Marie Navarre dit Utreau. Robert T. and family came later in the 1840's to the Toledo area. Robert T. Navarre is the son of Robert, grandson of Robert Navarre, brother of the aforementioned Utreau. Robert T. had at least 4 children marry projeny of the scout boys: 1. Sam R. m. Felisa Navarre, 2. Maria Archangele m. Robert R. Navarre, 3. Angeline m. Lambert P. Navarre, and 4. posthumous daughter Jane m. Lambert E. Navarre. woo boy! How are you connecter?

My family also had an adoption this far back and I was able to get the info from them. Since you arn't sure what state the adoption was finalized in, if Lansing doesn't have a record then contact The state of Ohio, adoption dept.
Jennifer

His adoptive parents were born in Michigan. His birthdate is June 5, 1891. If anyone knows any further information on his birth parents it would be appreciated. His adoptive parents were Alexis Navarre and Katherine Kull. I don't know at what age he was adopted. And, I don't know if he was orphaned or given up at birth.

Hi I am 12th Great Grandson of Galeran Navarre who was born in France in 1502 and died in 1552 and I was wondering if anyone knows of his line from before then such as his Parentage and if he has Spanish ancestry.

Especially since I read that Navarre is a Spanish name and I recall seeing a thing on a site about some Spanish Jews having Navarre for a Surname.

So I was wondering if anyone knows anything on the Parentage of Galeran Navarre and if anyone knows whether or not he has Spanish Jews in his bloodline?

Please let me know and provide a Source as well

Thanks and God Bless

Sincerely
Ryan McReynolds

Navarre Brothers in Lucas County, Ohio

The NAVARRE brothers - Peter, Robert, Francis,
Alexis, Anthony, James came to Lucas County,
Ohio in the early 1800's. They were born in
Detroit, MI in the late 1700's. They are the
sons Francis Mary Navarre dit Utreau and Mary
Louisa Godet. Francis Mary Navarre was born
in Detroit and is the son of Robert Navarre
and Marie Lootman dit Barrois.

I am looking for the wives and children of
the brothers in an effort to identify my
ancestor, Mary Archangela Navarre who was
born in Ohio around 1820 and later married
Peter Rumery in Ottawa County, Ohio. The
Navarre brothers were early pioneers of Lucas
County, Ohio. I know about the families of
Peter, Robert, and Alexis, so I need to know
more about the families of Francis, Anthony,
and James because one of them is Mary's
father. One or more of the brothers (Francis,
Anthony, James) may have married Indian women.

Your help is truly appreciated.

I am researching the Navarres for Nellie's great-niece, Mary Lee, d/o Nellie's youngest sister, Shirley. As the youngest of such a large family, Shirley hasn't been able to supply Mary Lee with much information besides grandparents' names and the names of some of her Boudreaux aunts and uncles. I found an Honore Navarre, stepson to Joseph Perere, in the 1910 census (Assumption Parish). Any information would be appreciated.
