Died at his home two miles east of Edenville, Father Ensign aged 72 years. He has been a suffer for the last six months with drospy and death came to his relief on Wednesday Dec. 19. The funeral was held at the M. E. church at Hope, and the remains was interred in the Hope cemetery. He leaves a family of grown up children. Midland Daily News Republican dated 28 Dec 1894 Page-5.

OCTOBER 3, 1974

Arthur A. Netherton, 91, Chatsworth, formerly of Melvin died at 2:15 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27 at Fairbury hospital, where he had been a patient for twelve days. Funeral services were held Sunday, Sept. 29 at 2 p.m. at the Danforth funeral home, Roberts, with Rev. Charles Hale officiating. Masonic services were held Saturday evening.
He was born Sept. 30, 1882 on a farm four miles northwest of Melvin in Germanville township, a son of Henry and Sarah E. Walley Netherton. He married Emily Gedelman Dec. 16, 1908 at Vaughn, Wash.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Clara Gillette, Chatsworth, Mrs. Pauline Van Duyn, Chesterton, Ind., two sons, Floyd, Turnwater, Wash., Leland, Melvin, seven grandchildren and a great- grandchild.
He was a member of the Chatsworth United Methodist church, Melvin Masonic Lodge, Chatsworth Order of the Eastern Star and the Chatsworth Lions Club.
Pallbearers were Elmer Underwood, Raleigh Underwood, Harold Gedelman, Dr. Gordon Talbot, Frank Netherton and Lyle Thompson. Honorary pallbearers were Arthur Walter and Rober Koehler.

I am looking for information on a John Netherton of Defford. He married Joanne and had two children, John and Margaret
John was baptized 23 July 1643 and Margaret was baptized 13 Dec 1646. I think that John is the brother of Richard Netherton who was born Abt. 1590 and married Ellinor. Anyone have any more info.

My father was Le Roy Allen Netherton. His father was Harley Benjamin Netherton from Jerico, MO He was married to Mary Elizabeth Warren.
Some how Moses Netherton is his grandfather whether it be great grandfather.

There is a William M. Netherton listed in this genealogy, but didn't see a Fred... I'm an x Netherton, but have 3 Netherton children...
These Nethertons were in Okla. and a lot of them were born there...

This is not my work , you will find it in the World Tree at ancestry.com however I did corrrect the spelling on my Ex's name...This family was living in Clinton Okla, the last I heard... I saw your post, and was glad to hear there is someone out there I can talk to concerning my Walters family. Tillman Walters, born in 1790 in Franklin County, VA was my GGgrandfather.He migrated to Texas, taking several years thru Ala & Miss on the way to East Texas-Nacagdoces, Texas. They arrived there in 1835, and took up land. His father Moses was with them,Robert Sr haveing died back in Franklin Co in 1794. They were from Virginia originally, Pittsylvania County. They came over from Scotland in the 1740s.They were from South Leigth, Midlothian, Scotland.

I am the great-granddaughter of William C. Netherton, who was an older brother of Carey McCoy Netherton. Sometime between the Census Reports of 1860 and 1870, William moved west to California, eventually settling in Santa Cruz Co. I would love to know more about William's sibblings and ancestry if there's someone who would like to share information.

Just discovered this board (new to the Internet). According to a Pulaski County, Indiana, history, Presley Arterburn (son of Sarah Netherton), had 11 children, not eight.

Do you have any idea when she died? The fact that Presley's third wife was also a Sarah doesn't help!

I found John and Martha Netherton's family in the 1900 Monroe Co. KY census Mag.Dist.5, East Tompkinsville enum. dist. no. 84,sheet 15. Estes was born May 1898 and his parents were born in Tennessee. John was born July 1853 and Martha Oct 1852.
