Robert Bullen Newington b 1889 d 1928

I am trying to find out where Robert Bullen Newington was buried. He died in 1928 in Persia. I feel certain that the Newington's of Goudhurt/Ticehurst would have brought him home to rest in this country.

His last address was in Edinburgh, but it seems he's not buried there. Any help or info would be much appreciated.

Hello I'm trying to find out more information about relatives of Thomas Newington b. 1825 in Canterbury, Kent.
I believe he was married to Ann Goodwin of Godstone, Sussex in 1852 but I don't seem to be able to get any further back. They lived in: Mitcham,Surrey: Maidstone, Kent: and Southwark and Camberwell in London. Any help would be appreciated

Hi, I'm trying to find the next link in my wife's father's line of Newington.
His grandfather was Percy Edward who married Laura Anne Spice in E. Ashford, Kent. They had a son, Roy Henry, born 1917 in Kent. Roy Henry married Phyllis Mary Short, 1939 Hailsham.
Do you think your line is possibly related? I know your Henry had a son called Percy E. Newington(abt 1892), but was it the Percy I'm searching for?
Henry was born, 1861 Eastry according to the freeBMD birth index.

Cynthia - Was Ezra Newington's wife Dorothy Miller of Grand Rapids, Michigan? Was Ezra's mother's name Maria Wool or Wooll ? Did your father have a brother Duane and sister Constance? If so, we are distantly related. Please let me know.

I haven't gotten that far yet, but my father's sister is Constance Marie Newington, born 11 Dec 1927. I see you have an Amy Edith Constance Newington. I have a feeling this is all going to tie together. I cannot find Edwin's parents names so far. I am still looking. Thanks for replying. I live in the United States in the State of Michigan (the great lake state). But I know the roots of my family are England. Have a nice day!

Do you know when your Edwin was born?

My Albert Thomas George Newington had some siblings:-

Arthur G E Newington - born c1876

Amy Edith Constance Newington - born 04 Sep 1879

Albert V C Newington - born c1886

But no Edwin! Unless that was Athur's middle name!

I am the daughter of Jack Eugene Newington and Sarah Jane Kellogg. My grandfather was Ezra Newington and my greatgrandfather was Edwin Newington. I think I have traced my ancestry back to England, but I am not sure. I cannot find Edwin Newington's parents names.

My grt Grandmother was Amy Newington born 7 December 1886.

Her father was Alfred Thomas George Newington who was born in Deptford 1867 (he was a conductor with an orchestra for a profession')

His father was Thomas Newington born in Deptford in 1843.

His father was Henry Newington.

If anyone else is descended from any of the above and has any more information then I would love to hear from you!

My Great Grandfather was Henry Newington who married Ellen Saxby in 1881 in Faversham, Kent. Haven't been able to confirm birth dates yet but believe both were born c1861, he in Wingham and she in Preston.
If anyone has any further information I would be grateful.

John Newington Beer b1842 in Kent, England; father John Newington

My great grandfather was John Newington Beer, born 12/1/1842 in Ewell, Kent.

Naturally we had assumed we would be looking for a male Beer line, so were surprised on receiving his birth certificate to find that his father was John Newington, and his mother was Mary Ann Beer.

I have been digging a little more and have found that John Newington and Mary Ann Beer married in 1843, and that there are further children carrying the Newington surname. Therefore I would be interested in hearing from anyone who is descendant from this family. The only other names I have are from the 1881 census:

Peter C Newington, Son, 25 yo in 1881
Sarah A Newington Daughter, 18 yo in 1881
William H Newington, Grandson, 7 yo in 1881

The family was living at 13 George St, Buckland in Dover at the time of the census.

I believe, but can't confirm at this stage, that the parents of John Newington were Charles Newington and Susanna Belsey, and that he was baptised in Buckland on 14/5/1815.

Charles and Susanna married in Buckland on 23/4/1815.

Mary Ann Beer may be the daughter of William and Mary Beer, and she was baptised on 24/3/1822 also in Buckland.

If anyone can connect to this family I would be pleased to hear from them.
