Surnames: Niles, Daboll
Hi Allen, Thank you so much for replying to my query. I would have searched forever to find this guy. The wife's name is Narcissa Angelina Daboll, b Stephentown NY ca 1828. Her father is George Whitfield Daboll Sr. b 18 Feb 1792/3 Groton CT d 16 May 1838 Stephentown bur. Hillside Cemetery, West Stephentown. Her mother is Angelina odell b 1 Dec 1794 ?Groton CT d. 8 or 20 Aug 1853 Stephentown bur. unknown. In 1855 Narcissa is 27, living with the family of Noah Odell (probably a relative of her mother) in Stephentown. I cannot find her death and could not find her marriage until you came along. In 1850 she is in Nassau NY with De. Daniel Haynes and his wife, age 22, probably a domestic.
Olive Justina married Millard Orlin Nichols, had at least 5 sons in Colrain MA, and is buried there with Millard. He d 1929, she d 1936. I have yet to find where they are - records say an unknown cemetery. I found an Olive in 1880 in Medford MA and a marriage for her 8 Sept 1884 in Ipswich MA to Edward F. Riley. She gives her parents as Benedict and Angelina and says it is her first marriage. Don's see how this can be her, as Millard and Olive started having children in Colrain in Nov 1882.
Frederick B. (probably for Benedict) married 1 Jun 1905 in Leominster MA Levina Felton Cutting (second marriage for her). She is b 1839 d 1914 Marlborough MA. He is b 1862 d 1933 Cambridge MA.
Interestingly, a Guardianship is granted in Worcester (MA) County Probate Court on 8 May 1866 to Ebenezer Pulaksi Daboll, Narcissa Angelina's brother, for Olive J. Niles and Frederick B. Niles. It says they are the children of Benedict Niles, late of Stamford in the State of Vermont, deceased. Where is Narcissa Angelina? I have never found any record of her after the 1855 NY State Census! Where were they married? I can find only one child named Olive who is age one in the 1860 VT census - she is with Daniel Niles in Halifax.
Narcissa Angelina is the sister of my 2nd ggf George Whitfield Daboll Jr. I have been doing all the collateral lines going back to my 4th ggf Benjamin Daboll of Groton CT and Stephentown NY.
Can you add any more to my mystery?
