I, too, am a direct descendant of Allan Nixon of Sussex Country, NJ via his son John 1752-1811, his son John 1797-1864, his son Morris 1828-1864. Can you tell me any military history (Civil War or Revolutionary War) for this branch of the family?

Standing at the driveway looking into the homestead....the Hazel Dell Cemetery would be to your left and the Gregg cemetery would be to your right. The Gregg is on the opposite side of the street from the Nixon Farm. Does this help?

NIXON, John D. 79, of South Vienna, Ohio went died on Thursday, April 5, 2012 in the Springfield, Ohio Regional Medical Center.
He was born on December 31, 1932 in Bainbridge, Ohio (Geauga County) the son of Charles and Anna (Vince-Jones) Nixon.
John worked for R&M for ten years, thirty-five years for Navistar retiring in 1998, and five years at Meijer's in the Meat Department.
John loved people, enjoyed spending time with his family, and was always willing to lend a "helping hand" to someone in need.
He is survived by his loving wife of forty-eight years, Sandra (Bowman) Nixon.
He and Sandy really enjoyed traveling the country especially out West.
John was active in the Emmaus Community and always was up for a game of Euchre.
He is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law, David and Elizabeth Nixon of Tennessee, and his daughter Cathey Nixon of Springfield, Ohio mother-in-law, Susan Bowman, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two infant sisters, one adult sister, Mary Schumacher, and four brothers: Lowell, Richard, Don, and William.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 from 5-7:00 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME where services will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Matthew Yoder of the New Moorefield United Methodist Church officiating.
Burial will be at Vernon-Asbury Cemetery.

Hello,
I would love to contact with someone who knows about Lynda R. Nixon. In 1973 she left a family tree at the Galesburg, Ill library stating she was the daughter of Mildred Jennie (Fields) and Paul D. Nixon. She was living in Salt Lake City at the time.

The family tree makes me ask a couple of questions.
Lynda's maiden name was Nixon....but the tree says that her husband's father's name was Paul Dee Sr. Nixon....does this mean she married a Nixon?...as well, as well as having the maiden name of Nixon??

I would like to know what happened to Mildred Jennie and Paul Nixon.

Johnnie Ezekiel Nixon Mystery

Looking for information on Johnnie Ezekiel Nixon. Born in Harrisburg, Arkansas (1858), died in Altus, Oklahoma (1935).

The mystery is that no one seems to know who his parents names were. There are no records, and no family knows. We DO know that his mother died giving birth, and his father passed when he was 14. He was then raised by 2 women, no known names, and when they died, they left him some money, but he refused to take it.

That's all I know... any info will be greatly appreciated!

I have Allen as the father of James Sr. and he came to Canada from Ireland, and died at James and Mary's house in 1870. 1861 census has him living in Simcoe County. I have Allen having a son Allen(b. about 1831) and a wife Sarah. Not sure where this info came from.

Hi, I am most definitely interested in receiving any/all information you have and would be willing to share on the Gipman line The only information I have right now is Grandads wife and children, along with where they landed and went to. I have been researching this line for 6 years, with no luck.

My paternal great-grandparents are Gerhart Gipman and Maria Shmyr Gipman. My paternal grandfather is Gerhard Johan Gipman and his wife is Velma Riley Gipman. I have been able to go back to 1579 on my paternal grandmother's line, Riley.
I can't tell you how ecstatic I am to have found you, even after all this time, 12 years, since you posted this!

they have informed me that he left scotland to live in dominica and he married Philomene.

I am decended from Charles and Mary Nixon through their son Charles A. Nixon. There are some historical documents online chronicaling the legal battle beweeen Mary Nixon (after Charle's death) and the railroad. Charles was a squatter on 3 acres of land on the west bank of Breakneck Creek, in what is now Evans City, PA. (Then it was called Evansburg). You can find the whole story by google-searching documents for "Charles Nixon" and "Evansburg". Charles and Mary had a son Charles A. Nixon. His son Theodore Roosevelt Nixon was my grandfather. I was born Kevin Wayne Nixon and adopted when my mother re-married when I was the age of 2. My father was Thedore Roosevelt Nixon Jr. My grand-father had a farm on Love Rd. in Middlesex Twp., PA. Part of that farm is owned by my younger brother(also a Nixon by birth).

my husbands sister has asked me to help trace her great grandfathers birth and family in scotland.(hubby and her have different mums)
problem is she has no dates at all or areas.

this is the info i have
joseph nixon born scotland left scotland to arive in dominica (not the republic)
he arives in dominica and is a wealthy man he meets and has children with a black woman .
he dies early and leave his oldest son clifford his estate and money.
however this is lost when clifford himself dies young again no dates except
i do know cliffords daughter was born around 1941 in dominica
so im working on joseph haveing left the uk in perhaps 1891 to 1901 ish.
my question really is where to start do any of you know any sites that might help me.
would joseph of had to of gone through new york then to dominica,
i doubt there would of been lots if joseph nixons traveling to dominica from scotland at that time but then again i could be very wrong
i know its a needle in a hay stack type thing but its cought my interest and i want to help them.

The William Nixon from whom I am descended was born in Ireland in 1745 and died in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, in 1801. He married Yanacha Jane Ayers about 1771 in New Jersey. I have no information showing him living in Georgia. "Nixon Family Memorials" also does not show him having lived in Georgia.

"Nixon Family Memorials" does not list a Henry Patrick, nor a Patrick Henry Nixon. There is a Henry Nixon, born 8 Jan 1838, son of Daniel Keller Nixon and Lizzie Anne Exline. The Daniel Keller Nixon family lived in Ohio. ...

I am working with a friend to trace her family history. We are currently stuck on Henretta Nixon Simmons born in in 1863 and died in 1941. We have found one photo of Henretta but other than that we only know what we see in the 1900 and 1910 censues. She was the daughter of Mack Nixon and, we believe, Julia Scales. We have very little information on Mack and almost no information about Julia. We do know that Mack married into Martha Hadley after Julia's death. We assume that Mack, Julia, and perhaps Henretta were born into slavery. We know much about Henretta's step mother and her family but little of Henretta and her own parents. If anyone has any information they can share it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I am trying to connect with anyone who might have information on Mildred Jennie Fields.

A Lynda R. Nixon left an ancestor chart at the Galesburg, Illinois library in 1973.
I now have a copy of this…her husband’s father was Paul D. Nixon Sr. who married Mildred Jennie Fields. (Lynda left her address as Salt Lake City)

Lynda’s chart says that Mildred was born Dec 4, 1909 in Hastings, Nebraska and she married Paul Nixon, Sr. June 24, 1927. Paul was born April 5, 1904 Anson, Texas.

Mildred’s parents were:

Lewis Fields was born March 20, 1871 in Knox, Ill and died June 1, 1948. He is buried in Lincoln Memorial Park, Portland, Oregon.

Cora Bell Fields (Westfall) was born August 14, 1876 and died Aug 7, 1955 in San Anselmo, CA…she is also buried in Lincoln Memorial Park, Portland, OR

Herbert L. Nixon CHESAPEAKE, Virginia - Herbert L. Nixon, 75, of the 2000 block of Midway Ave., was called home to be with the Lord on July 26, 2011.

Born in Elizabeth City, N.C., he was a chief in the U.S. Navy and retired after 20 years of dedicated service.

He was a member of Cathedral of Faith COGIC, where he served faithfully as a deacon.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda J. Nixon of Chesapeake; a daughter, Wanda D. Newby of Ruther Glen, Va., and a son, Kerry L. Nixon of Chesapeake, and a host of relatives and friends.

Do you still have copies of the 6 Generations of Nixon dec. from Allan? My great-great-great grandfather is John Nixon who was supposed to have been born in Ireland btw 1760-1770. I don't know when he immigrated, but he moved from NJ to an Irish community in PA 1812. This is documented on line "John Nixon Comes to Butler County PA". It lists his children as Evans, William, Elizabeth, Jehu, Jane, Daniel Charles and Jesse. It says that Daniel and Jesse moved to Knox County, Ohio. Jesse is my great-great grandfather. I see the name Jehu pop up for a first name and middle name of most the children. Do you know its origin? The name of John's wife? Thank you - Mary Ellen Nixon Gillson
