I am searching for family of Earl James Nocton who married my great aunt Ann Catherine "Kitty" Beasley on 9 Mar 1941. Earl was b. 02 Jun 1898 and d. Jul 1961. His SSN 361-24-7485 was issued in Illinois. Kitty was born on 8 Mar 1896. She died on 17 May 1948 and I understand is buried in California. I don't think they had any children given their late marriage, but I'd certainly like to learn more about Kitty.

You can see the family info here:

http://family.phelpsinc.com/branches/beasleyfa/pafg02.htm#20

Brian Phelps
http:

In the 1881 census for Guysbrough County, Nova Scotia there is a Margret Nocton, age 22 (Servant) living with Philip Dort and family in Crow Harbour. Hope this helps.

My GF's mother's maiden name was Margaret Nocton and she married a White. Found that when they came from Sligo, Ireland the German immigration officers wrote Nocton instead of Naughton. In Philadelphia, PA there is a Catholic Cemetery that has stones with both spellings. It is said that the two brothers didn't maintain contact. One reportedly had served as a mayor of Mantayunk (SP?) and ran a coal business which the ladies of the family ran during WWII. Last I heard was told it was later operating as a Fuel Oil Business. Help! Beth
