My Grand-Father Salvador Nunez was born in Santander Spain in 1869. Is unknown when he immigrated to Mexico. Passed away in 1969 (on his 100th birthday) He and Grandma had three daughters and lived (that I know of) in Mexico City, Jalisco, Sonora and Baja California North. I don't know if he had any sibilings as he was older when my mother was born. So yes, I'm proud to say I'm a Nunez.(I don't like the loptop computers that don't have the accents that I need to add to the Nunez). I hope this information helps someone out there. Or if you have any information that I could use, please share it. Thank you. I hope everyone finds what they are looking for.

I don't kknow if this will help anyone. My Grandfather, Salvador Nunez was born in Santander Spain on August 10,1869. Is not known when he came to Mexico. He married Maria Calderon, (date unknown) in Mexico, probably Jalisco. He passed away on August 10, 1969 in Baja California. Yes, on his 100th birthday. He was a great grandpa to me. At least we know that the Nunez came from Spain. Also is a possibility that my great-grandparents moved from France to Spain. If anyone has information on Salvador Nunez, i.e did he have brothers/sisters, his parents names, etc. would you share it with me, I'll appreciate it. Thank you. I hope everyone finds what they are looking for.

I'm not sure how often she sees Roberto. He kinda likes to travel so you really don't know when you gonna see him again. Just an FYI, my aunt doesn't speak English in case you happen to get her number and call her.

Were you able to find more information on your New Orlean's Nunez family? It has been a few years since you posted. I also have Lousiana Nunez ancestors. They came from the Canary Islands in 1778/9. I would think that is likely where your Nunez family came from as well and there is a lot of documentation on that.
Her name was Acuncion Nunez Gonzalez and She married Paz Gonzalez. Her birth year was 1913 and She lived in Hamlin, Jones County, TX. I believe my mom had also told me she immigrated from Chiuahua, Mexico. I am still trying to find their immigration dates and other background info. I am sorry that I dont have more to share, but I thought I would share since you said you were from North TX

Do you know where Nicolas might have gone? My great-grandfather was Marciano Nuñez (unsure on mother's maiden name). The story as I know it is that Nicolas ended up in Chicago and that Marciano went back to Mexico and eventually ended up in Mexicali and Tijuana. My grandfather and him were both buried in Tijuana, B.C.

Hi, Tiffany

I am thrilled beyond belief to finally make contact with someone from the McDougall side of my family! I posted the message you responded to back in Oct. 2006. A few years ago, I originally found your mom's name in the California Birth Index, trying to find any offspring of Edward McDougall, my mom's uncle. I figure that your mom and I are second cousins. I was born in 1953 to Lavon McDougal (Lavon Mincey), the daughter of Wallace McDougall, Edward's brother who was your mom's grandfather. (I live in the Portland OR area.)

I wonder if your mom has any old pictures or documents? My mom had almost nothing, as Wallace McDougall deserted his wife and children and she was an orphan in 1930 when her mom died. All attempts to locate Wallace failed and his family was not interested--Mary Smith (Wallace's mother) died in 1927. I still haven't been able to find out anything about Wallace. I even paid $100 back in 2002 to get copies of Mary Smith's will and all her estate papers, in hopes of finding out something, but it didn't yield much and I didn't want to spend any more.

Anyway, I'm just glad to make contact with someone. I hope you are all well and life has been good to you. I love genealogy and I wish I had more time for it. I canceled my Ancestry subscription a couple of years ago as it was a waste of money since I had no time for it and was not using it. I still have my online trees of course. Please send me your email address and I'll invite you to view my tree. Right now you can see it but you can't see details on living people.

Thanks again for contacting me! My email address is mheining@gmail.com if you'd like to communicate directly.

Cheers,
Melanie
