My ancestor was Jeremiah Stewart. I have copies of the vital records for salem, Ma that indicate Sarah first married John Paul(or Pall) and then in 1744 married Jeremiah and moved to Maine. I am confused about the records because it's almost as if there are two sarah nurse's. One married Samuel Putnam and one married John Paul and Jeremiah Stewart. Do you have any additional information on Sarah Nurse Paul who married Jeremiah? Any information would be helpful.

Thanks,
Ginny

I have a ships list with Nurses who immigrated to Canada in 1916. On the list are Moses Nurse, Edmond Livingston Nurse and Robert Nurse. I believe they were brothers. The came from Barbados and Robert settled in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Edmond settled in York, Ontario and I don`t know what happened to Moses. My Grandfather was on the same ship.

There is a marriage listed for: NURSE, Mary and Nathan Davis Jr., Dec. 8, 1761 - Rutland Marriages - Early Vital Records of Worcester County, Massachusetts

It doesn't identify Mary's parents or Nathan's, but Joshua Nurse & Mary (Sampson) Nurse had children born in both Harvard and Rutland and may have been living in Rutland by 1761 since their son, Caleb, was born there July 6, 1760, and their daughter, Hannah, was born there August 29, 1762. It's possible Mary got married where her parents lived.

However the earliest Nurse I can find is George Nurse 1764 who married Joan Morris/Norris in Whitchurch Village, nr Cardiff. He may or may not have been born in Wales. I would really like some help to trace his birth/his parents and any siblings.
Many thanks
Sarah
Hello ELizabeth
Thank you so much for your message. Charles is a mystery and any suggestions are helpful I have nothing else to go on so maybe it could be a possibilty that Richard and Charles were brothers. Charles had a son called Richard born in 1810 in Hartest suffolk.
I will continue investigating and maybe come up with something! Thank you again.
Barbara Parish

Hi Barbara
I haven't any direct info for you but I am also researching into Nurse ancestry. I have a Richard Nurse born around 1775, place of birth unknown (possibly Kings Lynn in Norfolk). He married Pleasance Lindsay (b.1777 Kings Lynn) in 1796 in Kings Lynn. He had at least 6 children between 1797 and 1815, one of which (Richard b.abt 1810) ended up in Eye in Suffolk. Is there a possibility that Richard snr and Charles were brothers?

I'm looking for the parents of Thomas Nurse or Nourse of Martley in Worcestershire. Thomas was born around 1786 at Martley and I seem somehow to have found a father by the name of James Nourse but can't find out how I came by that information (very remiss of me, I know - I am usually very careful to record where I found information!).

If the James I have is correct, then he was born around 1744 but I have no idea where. I have the spouse of James as Ann?. the only likely place I can research this is at Worcester Record Office in the English Midlands but - and here's the snag - I live in Scotland and it's an 800 mile round trip.

If anyone out there has anything on ANY of the Nurses/Nourses at Martley in Worcestershire, I would love to hear from them.

YES,the family out of Barbados seems to be widespread they are long livers and quite prolific,Imyself comes from a family of eight girls and three boys,Iwill love to be a part my sister Dianne has established and continues to work on a family tree and I have another relative whom I understand has done a considerable amount of work.
My information is that a family of nurses migrated to Trinidad from Barbados sometime in the 1870's they settled in Belmont and eventually one brother moved to ST Joseph.Iwill not be surprised if some other relative (or even a brother)lived in Arouca since I REMMEMBER MY GREAT AUNT telling us that we were related to George Padmore (real name was Sylvestre Nurse) who was one of the founding fathers of GHANA
There are also other NURSES in trinidad who settled in Caroni,Icacos and GUAYAGUAYARE as well as Tobago .I would love to know the relationships

What is your father's first name? Any other Nurse relatives of yours that may have lived in Sydney? My family name is Nurse as well. As far as I know, we were the only Nurse family that is originally from Barbados that lived in Sydney although I have heard there was a Nurse family that lived outside of Sydney but moved back to Barbados. As for Montreal, I believe there may be cousins that live there but not 100% sure.
