Also have a gr great uncle Francis X Odette marrying a Mary Leclair and the had a son Ralph. I'm sure it's Francis Odette's family because his daughter's Beatrice married a Earl Dubeau and they have a daughter Marion Dubeau. Also a son Alnorsen married an Ione Fern. I'd love to see? I have an old scrapebook from my husbands grandmother and in it, it has many articles from the LeClair Family Reunion and they it turns into the Odette Family Reunion but I can't figure out how it fits. Some of the names listed are Ralph Odette was the President, Christopher Odette was the youngest and Marion DuBeau was the historian. Fern Odette is another name I've found in the book.

Hi, I am looking for information on my great great grandfather Charles Odette dit la Pointe. All I know is that he was from Quebec, was a lumberjack, lived to be 111 years old. He had a daughter, Flora Odette whose married name was Miller. Her daughter, my grandmother was Lillian Emily Miller.

I was wondering if you could help me. My great great grandfather's name was Charles Odette de la Pointe...but now I am thinking the "de" might have actually been "dit".

Just saw this old post, thought you might enjoy knowing that this led to the connection of our Irish Maher/Donahue relatives and trips from Ireland to here, and vice versa. Bless you and thank you for that...Paddy Donahue and I recently posted family updates on all this into my Odette Family Tree on this ancestry.com account, so take a look if you like.

If you get this message, I will be downriver later today...about 5:30 or 6, and at the FX Ecorse Cemetery, while I am on the way to Coast Guard work in Wyandotte afterwards...let me know if you can meet there?

You are right. I AM Barbara Eidel. I had a brain freeze for a moment. My father is Jack Eidel (age 89), and grandfather was Phil Eidel. They are all from Montana.

Barb, my email address is warvey@aol.com. I have only a couple of Odett pictures of very poor quality, having been xeroxed from old photos. One is of Albert & Olive with 12 of their children (1 boy missing), on their 50th anniversary, 9/12/1906. The other is Cora, her husband, & their 4 children, I'm guessing the same date. I can try scanning & sending the one or both to you, once I have your email or mailing address. I'm not a strict genealogist, but I can probably send you a copy of Albert Odett descendents and/or outline from my Family Tree Maker, for what it's worth. Most of our family photos are stored at my eldest sister's house, so someday we'll see if there are any of the Odetts. I've asked Sandi what she has, & we have another cousin who has some, I'm sure. --Marty

I am a Dupra and have made a family tree with my family and relatives, I can send you the pic although i have never seen our last name spelt any other way. Main thing to know is I can only go back to Ferdinand (FRED) Dupra 1868-1911, son of Joseph Dupra. Fred Dupra however is not truly a dupra, his mother Felina Rhiaume (Mohawk Indian) was pregnant with him before she met Joseph and when Fred was born the Dupra name was given to him.

Well thats about what i know anyways and that probably wont help unless you are in some way a decendent of Fred.

Three year post but will reply anyway. preston jr died in 1990 up in Alpena Michigan. preston sr died in 1975 flint michigan. preston sr dad was francis xavier odette b 1862 and d 1941 up around saginaw michigan. I think most of that branch of the odette's are around the middle of the lower penisula, flint, west branch, bay city area? I have a contact to that branch. his name is terry odette, nice guy and is always happy to help. I've talked to him before, his eamil was jackpinejungle@hotmail.com but that was a couple of years ago. if email doesn't work look him up in the phone book

I believe you are my first cousin. My name is Stephen Odette and my father's name is Lawrence Charles Odette, Born 12June1932. Dad has often spoken of his older brother, Ralph and wife Maria. They came from a large family (by modern standards) and only a few remain. These include Ralph, Lawrence(my dad), Edwin, Marie McHenry, and Rosalie Cates. Jesse, Joseph, Helena Titus, Walter, Johnny, and Francis are no longer with us, unfortunately.
The last time I saw Ralph and Maria was around 1985, when they came to Texas for a family gathering. If we have met, it was probably around 1962, when I was 5 years old. My memory isn't real clear on that one, but I think you had a brother named Frank? Anyway, if you are my cousin; I have a lot more information I could share with you about my end of the family. I am seeking to find the parents of Claude (Claudius) Barnier c1731 and Helene Rodette c1731 both born in Dauphine, France. Our family lore has it, their surname was De Barnier before they fled France to escape religious persecution. They married in Spitlefields, London before settling in Ireland where they dropped the De as it identified them as foreigners.

According to info on Rootsweb.com, she died May 7, 1990, in Nueces County, Texas. You can write to the library there for an obituary or send to the state for a death certficiate. Hope this helps.

New York state. His father's name was Stephan
and mother, Celestia. Stephan's father is said
to be John. Stephan had a sister, Mary, married

Trying to contact descendents of one of my father's relatives. She was Sarah Donohue from Ireland, came to Illinois about 1895, married Owen Maher.
In 1919 their daughter Gladys Agatha Maher married Preston Odette. In 1920 they had a son, Preston Odette Jr. They lived at the time in Flint City. Hope someone can help.
