Gilbert M.D.L. "Lafayette" and Susan Ogborn are my 3rd great grandparents. I am currently working on their side of the family. I hadn't gotten to her remarrying yet. I know this is an older post, but am interested in what you have.

Edwin Star Ogborn, born abt. 1833

Hunting for information regarding Edwin's life in Coffey County, Kansas during the 1860's. I am researching the Wilburns who lived next door to Edwin and his wife Lydia on the 1865 State Census. I believe Edwin's sister, Mary A. (MA on the census) is married to James R. Wilburn. Edwin and Lydia had 5 children.

I now note that I have given you information you didn't request. Re Caleb Ogborn b. 1739. My note is "1 Nov 1729 Caleb Ogborn was condemned by Burlington MM for marriage contrary to discipline". I have Caleb married to Elizabeth on 1 Nov 1749, but I have no reference for this information. Re parents of John Ogburn b. 1696. I have William Ogborne (1671 England - 17 Feb 1713 Burlington NJ) and wife Mary Cole (1676 Burlington NJ and died ??. My information on William is: "William lived in Thornbury, Eng. and worked as a baker. "In 1650 he was executor of the will of one Giles Wheeler of Thornsbury, Gloucester. " 19 Jan 1708/09 executors to his Williams will inventoried his goods. " Will of William Ogborne proved 8 April 1714 mentions wife Mary, father John, son John (married Sarah Shreve), daughter Elizabeth (married John Pancoast), Mary (married William Pancoast of Mansfield 8 mo 14, 2731) Hannah (married Jonathan Sleeper)." The above reported in "The Sleeper Family" by Ethel Sleeper Gross, published by "Mount Holly Herald", Mount Holly, New Jersey in 1931. Hope this helps you. Chet Ogborn

William Walter Ogborn is my 4th cousin, so we are related. I have John Ogborn (1696-1774) married to Sarah M Shreve (1697 - 1739). Marriage was conducted 19 Jan 1724 in a Friends ceremony at Chesterfield Meeting, Burlington, New Jersey. Burlington County Friend's Monthly Meeting Marriage records (1686 - 1800) list witnesses to the wedding Elizabeth, Hannah and Mary Ogborn. John and Sarah were divorced 19 Jan 1723. It is probably safe to assume they both were re-married; however, I have no further information. Chet Ogborn inbother@cox.net

Marvin hi,
I have seen your name on the free page for Ogborns also, but hesitated to e-mail you as I have nothing solid to prove my link to Amos and lucinda.I assume your Charles William was a son to Amos, making him a brother to Nathan who married Mary Gartall? Here is my delimma I am a descendant of Clinton Ogborn who married Jessie Umholtz.I believe Clinton was was a son to Nathan,Clinton is buried in the Pine village cemetary and in a grave listing right along with Nathan,Mary Gartall and their son Montola.Clinton's wife Jessie is also buried with him.Clinton was born <1875> but I do not find him in the 1880 census.I have no middle name so I cant be sure he was not listed under some other name that I just dont recognize.I would love to make a solid connection, there are many Ogborns in the Pine village cemetary and I know just because he is buried along with Nathan that he is not necessarily his son.Have you ever haerd of Clinton and Jessie(Umholtz)?Feel free to e-mail your reply if you like.
thank you so much Trish
happy thanksgiving

Trish,

I have the Ogborn line as Caleb (1755), Caleb (1729), John (1700), William (1670), and John (1644). I beleive this is fairly well documented. I am a aslo a descandent of Amos Ogborn and Lucinda Gage. My great grand father was Charles William Ogborn, named after the two grandfathers. Also did you now that Lucinda Gage is a descendant of the Mayflower which makes you a descendant.

I have benn working on the family for quite a long time.
Hi Corwin,
Glenn and Bonnie were my parents. Since losing Dad I have been trying to place childhood memories (vague images of faces and places) into names and dates. Just started my father's side of the family tree, even though his was my first thought. Mother's were Wise and Wages and her family seemed to be everywhere I looked. Now I have the Wise back to the 1600 and the Wages waiting on some papers to get here so, with the pause, I am back to Dad's. Back to where I first began. I would love to swap info with you.

I use family tree maker. This means a lot to my sisters and I. Thank you, Corwin. I teach school and have summers off. This summer I am counseling juveniles but next summer my daughter and I are going to England to research the Ogborn ancestry there. Between now and then Rebecca, Angela (sisters) and I would enjoy helping you research family history in the states.

My e-mail address is as follows GBOgborn@aol.com
Rebecca is still in Florida, so is James, Angela is in Guam and I have been living in Alaska. Completing a Masters in Psychology here and then looking at places closer to family. Alaska has been tons of fun. Went up the Teller road yesterday and had to wait for 22 reindeer to cross in front of my jeep. Easy to count because they took their time and let me know they owned the road and I was just a visitor. The muskoxen have come down from the mountains with the melting snow. There is a herd of 50 with 18 young in the valley. A lone brown bear roams the tundra 6 miles from town, salmon are heading to the rivers from the Berring Sea, and the natives have "striked" a whale that should feed them through the upcoming winter. Thank you for the web site, I'll check it out.
-Glenda
