Seeking family of David Woods Kennedy; father believed to be William Kennedy and mother Mary Woods. David was born ca. 1816 in Kilclief. Family were Presbyterians and are believed to have come from western Scotland, possibly Ayrshire. David married Mary Cultra (Colter/Coulter/Cultragh) of Killyleagh, County Down. Their marriage took place on 9 November 1839 in Newtonards, County Down, Ireland. David and Mary with children emigrated to the US; he in 1857 and she and six children in August 1858. After a short stay in Belmont County, OH. they moved on to Wayne and Clay Counties in Illinois. Any assistance greatly appreciated.
