My family history suggests that a Welsh branch moved to Denbighshire possibly mid 1600's from Uttoxeter, Staffordshire. John Oldfield, son of Thomas Oldfield of Denbighshire had the same Coat of Arms and Motto as the West Yorkshire Oldfields of antiquity, of whom, a branch moved to Uttoxeter from Spalding, Lincolnshire. I note a Mrs Oldfield of Llanrhaiadr left an endowment for establishment of a grammar school at Denbigh. 1714.

I am looking for any decendants of Adam Oldfield and his wife Susan Hester Lyon who settled in the Boston area way back in 1889 Adam Oldfield was my Grand dads brother from Birkenhead Cheshire.Their first child was named Susan H. b1889 in England.Other family members were:George H, Margaret F, Marion E, William C, Florence P, Francis,and Madeline.all born in Massachusetts USA up to 1912.
Adam's father named William died when Adam was 8yrs old. But his mother Ellen married again.

My grandmother was born Evelyn Oldfield, the daughter of General Esmond Oldfield and Mary Bullen. She was born, I think, in the late 1870s. I understood from my aunt, who died a couple of years ago, that Ffram was in the family until some time in the mid-twentieth century.

Can you tell me any more about it?

Just browsing the messageboards on Ancestry and came across your entry. I am also descended form this union. Sarah was the youngest daughter. Her mother died at or around the time of her birth. She was then adopted by Sarah Robert's brother John and then subsequentlt married another Oldfield. The two lines are connected but quite a way back. I have done a lot of research into the Oldfields of that area and have eventually got the family back to Youlgreave in Derbyshire. I'd be interested to hear where you fit in and how I can help. This is a long shot...I have a mary ann who is a foster child in an Oldfield household in 1900 in South Dakota, USA. She was born in 1885 according to her, but we have no official record of this, or where she actually came from or who she is related to.

James b1825, Ashford Derby. Was the father of William Henry born in Liverpool 1851. He was a carter married to ellen.
William's 1st wife was Mary Pickvance, died during childbirth with daughter Mary, who went to live with aunt&grandparents(Delve). William married 2nd wife Eleanor Armstrong Feb 1880.
Their children were:
Lilian Jane b1880
James Armstrong b1882
Herbert Henry b1884
Maud Alice b1887
Edith May 1891
Mabel Eleanor b1893

I think there may have been more children,it would be interesting to find out more.

Hi It seems my William, James and Sarah and yours are connected.
While James was in Liverpool ( I think somewhere around 1850) he was a carter(as were a lot at the docks in those days, a profitable occupation).

James died in 1910 after a bale of grass fell on him from a wagon he was unloading.
5yrs later his son William died an almost identical accident(this time it was a bale of cotton)
William Henry bc1851 married twice, 1st time to Mary Pickavance who died 10days after giving birth to their daughter, and again to Eleanor Armstrong.

He was born in Ill. in either 1888 or 1889. Was Married to Aliyce May (Robertson) Smith, IN Mobridge, South Dakota in April 19, 1919. They lived there , had three children between 1920 and 1923. In 1924 at holloween time disapered and was never heard from again by his family.I am ( Ed West)his grandson.

If you are still active, I would be interested in learning more about your Oldfield family. My ancestor is Mary Shepard Pearce, a sister of Temperance Shepard Oldfield. Evidently Mary and her spouse, Willis Pearce, lived with the Oldfield family after Mary's father, Lt. Abraham Shepard died in the Battle of Minisink in July 1779, along with a "Jonathan" Pierce. I descend from Willis and Mary. They even moved to Ontario Co., NY with the Oldfield family about 1804, evidently where George died. Any help appreciated.

I have a George Washington Oldfield who married a Jane Gimore. He was born in1818. I can't get back farther than this. I know he had a son James Taylor Oldfield and I think there was an older George Washington but I keep hitting brick wall. Any help I can get will be deeply appreciated.Thanks.

Most of the Data I have comes from the Church LDS. They have some great great records and very easy to track. The dates some times are not correct and sometimes off a few years. The name in my family data file is George Oldfield, If he had a middle name I am no what it is. According to the records I have George was born arround 1765 his father was Elias Oldfield born about 1720 in Minisink (Orange County) NY
George married Temperance Shepherd. George's File with the LSD is Afn: bdf9-38. George had six children. They were Abram, William, Dorothy, Julia, Sarah Mary. Abram was my great great Grandfather.
Posibly your George born arround 1818 is a relative of Abram his children were born from about 1810-1819. Abram had married Olive Kidder and they had six children -Sabrina, Orson, Maria, Charlotte, Valentine Nelson.
I have given you some of my family tree info which might help connect some of the pieces together.
Where are you ancestors from? Yates County has some great census records If they were in New York.

My family ancestors are also from Morgan Co., Kentucky. Reason Oldfield was my great-great grandfather. Also, on the mother's side, they are Stampers. My grandfather was Denny Stamper, his father was Andrew Stamper.

Dean kraft is dorman dean oldfield donald is his twin brother. At a early age they were given to the Krafts. My father in laws would not speak of his live before WWII. Robert Oldfield was my gggrandfather. He had at least 2 children James and Henry (+ an known daughter. James and Henry left Dublin during the potato famine and went to Liverpool where James married Margaret Gay (or Gaynor). Both men subsequently moved to London.

As stated in a previous msg, I travelled to North Wales last year and some old letters caught my eye at an 'attic sale'. The age and the text was just wonderful. Although my name is not Oldfield I thought someone might here might be interested in a copy of these letters. They were written in the 16 and 1700's and take a little deciphering. Anyways, let me know.

My O'Fields ARE Cherokee Indian and I was Miss Cherokee back in the late 60's. They seemed to have a reddish cast to their hair but can't find out where that came from.
