Patricia Ann Neary, daughter of Cletus and Maureen (Mulroney) Oliver, was born June 28, 1927. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic School graduating in 1945.

On June 19, 1947 Patricia was united in marriage to Robert Leo Neary in Emmetsburg, Iowa. To this union six children were born.

Pat was employed at Palo Alto County Bank before raising her family. She was a member of Holy Family Parish in Emmetsburg. She was also a member of the Palo Alto County Hospital Auxiliary Bridge Club and the Nevada Ladies. Pat enjoyed the Palo Alto County Bank ladies group that met together.

Pat was an avid sports fan. She didn’t care what team was playing or what sport was being played. If there was more than one game on T.V. at a time she would flip channels and keep track of two or three games in one night. Pat also loved baking and being in the kitchen. She volunteered at the Catholic School for many years.

Patricia died Saturday, August 16, 2008 at her home near Emmetsburg, Iowa at the age of 81. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mary Jo Baker.

She is survived by her husband, Robert of Emmetsburg, IA; her children, Robert and Joyce Neary, II of Bethesda, MD, William Neary of Blair, NE, Joseph and Terry Neary of Emmetsburg, IA, Dr. James and Chris Neary of Ames, IA, Donald and Mary Neary of Carroll, IA and Margaret and Jason Leonard of Waverly, IA; thirteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two brothers, Gerald and Betty Oliver of Houston, TX and James and Mary Oliver of Bancroft, IA; as well as many other relatives and friends.
