Marcel Louis Orleans

Marcel L. Orleans is my gr. gr. grandfather came through NY from France and settled in Boston. I have found a registry listing his parents as Jean B. and Aglae and am trying to find that connection. Family story says Marcel came with brothers (french royalty) but can not find that paper trail. If anyone has any info on this story or Jean would be greatly appreciated.

Lineage of N.O. Mayor Gerard Stith?

Gerard Stith was elected Mayor of New Orleans about 1858. He died in 1880. His obit indicates that his father was Griffin Stith.
The obit also indicates that he is a direct patrilineal descendant of The Rev. William Stith(President of William and Mary College). Rev. William Stith is not known to have had any sons. How is this lineage possible?

Jacob married a Barbara Hochstadter here in St Louis, Missouri USA in 1889.

I have conflicting information about my Kimmich line. Most likely they came from Waldmoessingen, Germany, but I have a few clues that it could have been Renfrizhausen also.

Where did your Kimmich line come from? If I ever run across anything else on Fridolin, I will let you know.

II appreciate the offer on the grant but I have since found i it. Did your Jacob marry Maria??? Fridolin, my gr,gr, grandfather came to the us in 1856 and is a real buger trying to find records on. I'm really looking forward to your reply and again thanks - Richard Kimmich

I found a land grant for a Fridolin Kimmich in Monroe County, Illinois, dated June 1, 1857 and signed by President James Buchanan. I have it saved so I can send you a copy if you like.
I do research on Kimmich also based on this being my mother's line. Our line in the St Louis Missouri area originated with a Jacob Kimmich, emigrating in the 1880's

Willie Earl Blue was my mother's brother. My mother and I have submitted DNA to assist in locating my uncles remains. Our DNA has been processed, but we have not heard back. My grandmother Mildred Smith died in June of 2005.

I am an Orleans but not French.My great grandfather who still got a picture hanging on top of our stairs look Caucasian but not a Filipino which is my nationality. Our cousins and some distant relatives have got features of foreign origin that is why im very much interested in tracing my heritage myself.

POW/MIA Korean War, BLUE

I am searching for the family of a soldier who was killed in the Korea War. When he entered service he gave Orleans Parish, LA. as his home of record. His mother was Mrs. Mildred Smith. His remains were never recovered.

Soldier: Willie Earl Blue
Born: Jan 23, 1931, Black
Date of loss:August 31, 1950

When the Korean War ended the enemy never returned or accounted for over 8,000 of our servicemen. They died in their hands. That was over 50 years ago. Since that time DNA has been perfected and also they are recovering remains in North Korea. Our government is obligated to return those remains to the proper family. DNA samples have been obtained from most of the families of these missing soldiers. For various reasons some families have not been located. The BLUE family is one of those missing.

When the remains are recovered and identified they will be returned to the family for proper burial. I am just an old (76 years) Combat Veteran out of the Korean War and thankful that I did return. I consider this a very noble cause and I hope that you can help in some way to find this family. For more information on the project you may go to http://www.jpac.pacom.mil/. My part in the program is to match up the lost families with the proper agency.

I will be grateful for any assistance in locating this family.

This is from his death certificate.
Jesse A. Rhaesa, died 21 June 1939 in New Orleans, LA at the age of 67. He lived at 914 Jeff Ave. (probably Jefferson). He was in the City Hospital for Mental Diseases. Died of Cerebral and generalized arterio sclerosis, lt. hemiplegia. psychosis.
Was a native of Yonkers, NY.
Was married to Elizabeth W. Hauler, A. Barber.
Certificate witnessed by E. H. Phillips (undertaker), P. Henry Lanauze and W. J. Prudhomme.

Does any one know where this man?

After the death of Louis Philippe Orleans, Celina Harris married my gr-gr-grandfather's brother, William Michaud.

My gr-gr-grandfather had a son, François Xavier, who moved from Canada to Colorado with his big family. At least 3 of his children married Orleans. I need help with the rest of his family.

I am searching for any information on the Orleans or d'Orleans family. The only information we have is that my husband's grandfather (Charles Albert Orleans)lived in Enid, Oklahoma. And died there in approx. 1950. He was married to a woman who we were told was from eastern Oklahoma and that they had one son. But as to their names or whereabouts, we have no idea. From what we understand, they divorced and she took the child. No contact was ever made after their divorce.His second wife's name is Sylvia. They had one son, Charles Albert Orleans, born February 2, 1935. He now lives in Slidell, Louisiana. They also had 4 daughters, Sylvia Mae, Dixie, Jo and Betty. Any information that may help, would be greatly appreciated.

I am African, Ghanaian to be more specific. I have a hyphenated last name and part of it is Orleans...as far as I know it of French origin. I wanted to know if anyone knows or may information on or about any French families that may have traveled to Ghana during the colonial days of slavery.

I don't know whether or not this is any relation to my family or not. What I do know is that my great great grandfather Albert Orleans was married to Josephine Richter in 1867 and that my great grandfather Louis was married to a lady named Clementine. And that he died in Cook county, Illinos in 1920. If this is any help please let me know.
