Hello Stacy, my name is Ronald Dean Osburn and your Oma Crouch was my aunt. My Father was Wilkerson Orval Osburn, son of Isaac Casper Osburn, son of Wilkerson Osborn born 1818. My Father was named after his grandfather Wilkerson born 1818 and also had an uncle Wilkerson Osburn. The older Wilkerson came to Arkansas from Sandy Hook Kentucky in the 1850's and homesteaded land in the Winfrey Valley area and eventually ended up at Schaberg Arkansas where he died in 1899. He's buried in the Schaberg Cemetery and his tombstone is pictured on the Find a Grave site if you wish to see it. He spelled his name Osborn instead of Osburn. He was married to Mary Poly Henson in Kentucky in the early 1800's and if you look in the Kentucky Marriage records his name is spelled Ausburn. Sandy Hook is in Morgan County. I knew your grandmother well and was around her a lot. If you contact me at ronald.osburn@us.army.mil I can tell you a lot more about your grandmother Oma and her twin brother Omar who died at about thirteen years of age. You probably haven't heard about him. If your interested in the other family members I can tell you some about them too. Oma's younger brother William Everett Osburn (Bill) was the minister in the family. Not Melvin or my Father Wix as some have said. Nice to see someone interested in that gang besides me. Was your father A.W. or Jimmy Crouch? I'm not sure at this point. Sorry I don't remember you since I'm getting a little older. A new finding on death of Andrew Osborn. I reported in a previous note that Andrew was killed in a battle in Paintsville, Ky in the Civil War on April 13, 1864. This info was found in a book by a Civil war historian who footnoted that the two Confederates killed that day in Paintsville were James Paterson and Andrew Osborn.His footnote cited info from a newspaper from 1920 The Midland Methodist. New info has been found and posted in an eastern Ky blog that has the story how both Patterson and Andrew died. Very interestingly, most all names mentioned are also mentioned in properties recorded in Johnson County Court records that Andrew either purchased or sold.

My mother recently gave me some old pictures. On the back of one Mrs. Osburn is written on it. I believe that the women in the photo are my Great Great Grandmother (Louisa(e)Michler Deremo) and Eleanor (Worthington) Osburn, B. about 1837 in Virginia. She married Norval Osburn, B. about 1837 in Ohio. Mrs. Osburn was the mother in law to a great aunt of mine (Emma Deremo Osburn) who married Craven Osburn. Is this William Osburn any relation to the William Osburn who had Margaret Osbourne for a daughter? This William was born in PA in the 1790s.He passed away at Clintonville in Venango county PA.

I found out from family that Isaacs wife mary had a son by someone else named theodore warran. so that has been confirmed. But I do not know who his father was or if they were married.

THEY WERE BOTH BORN IN NORTH CAROLINA,ACCORDING TO CENSUS (IN 1828 AND 1829). THEIR DAUGHTER MARY JANE OSBURN(DIAL) IS MY HUSBANDS GREAT GRANDMOTHER. SHE WAS BORN 1859 IN LAVACA CO. TEXAS. Andrew and Susan were my ggreatgrandparents. After years of research I found out Andrew had been killed in the Civil War in Paintsville (Johnson County) Ky. I have written a very nice booklet on him, about 20 pages. Contact me via email and I will email it to you. My address is kretz@mikrotec.com Andrew had fought with the Fifth Ky. Infantry in Co. K,CSA, of which his brother in law Daniel Blevins was Captain, from Dec, 1861 until; Oct 22, 1862 when the 12 month infantry disbanded and reorganized. He then joined up with some Partisan Rangers led by Sid Cook and they later loosely affiliated with the Seventh Battalion as Co. G. It was with them in a raid on Paintsville on April 13, 1864 that Andrew was killed along with James Patterson.

I have read your links and wonder if Joesph and Mary were former native of Ireland and latter Scotland. This is the information I have found from Nial Nye Osburn and Sarah B. Steadman which is the father of William Osburn, Samuel B.,Lucinda G., Charles S. and Mary. William Osburn and Mary H. Hooker parents of Russell E., Dorthoy (Agnes?), Everett.
My father is William E. Osburn son of Russell Osburn.

oh. My brother lives up in oregon too. I think in murtle creek or portland. One of the two. My uncle is been excited that im finding family we didnt know we had. I was so happy to find out who my great grandmas dad was. I didnt expect it to be isaac. But thats cool. hi, wilkerson was my great great great grandpa. My parents have a picture of him and a news artical from 1983 that another family had published. It was about them coming to arkansas. It listed all their children too. It also had a picture of my great great grandma polly ann henson. Wilkerson was born in 1818. His son isaac was my great grandmas dad. Her name was oma mildred osburn. Let me know if you have any questions about them and if i can i will answer them for you.

this sounds like my grandmas family. Mary was her mom and she had a sister named iva but my dad always called her ivy. Melvin and wilkerson were her brothers. Dad said they called wilkerson uncle wix. So that would make isaccs dad wilkerson omas grandpa. Wow this is so awesome. Thank you so much. My dad said that either wix or melvin were a preacher.

this shows Mary was married before abt. 1904 (to last name Warren when she was 19, had son Theodore Warren)
Isaac was married at 23 to 15 year old Julie Hardin.
Mary said her father was born in Tennessee and mother born in Kentucky, so Cyrus could be 2nd husband of Mary's mother, or someone confused.

my family has a picture of wilkerson. Im still trying to figure out how my great grandmother oma mildred osburn is related. I think he may be her grandpa. Wilkerson was married to pollyann henson. They had a lot of children. If who im discribing sounds like your wilkerson get back to me. I know his childrens names and in 1983 a relative did a newspaper artical on him and his family. I could tell you what all it said.

my great grandma had a picture of wilkerson osburn and a newspaper clipping on wilkerson osburn and pollyann. My mom has them both. Wilkerson i think is my great grandmas grandpa. Her name was oma mildred osburn. Do you by chance have any information on her? Ill get the newspaper and let you know what it says. I got all my info from that and online.

I don't know if this is the same one you are looking for, but I have:
Isaac Casper Osburn had 6 children with first wife, Julie HARDIN.
After Julie and oldest daughter died from tuberculosis and the 5 remaining children left home, Isaac remarried and he father 6 more children.
Isaac was looking for work with son Wilkerson in Butler, Oklahoma when he died

Looking for info on Elizabeth Osburn who married George James and they lived in Ashe County, NC, they married in Randolph Co. Aug. 1, 1800, their children are Rebecca, Nancy, Adam, George O., Sallie, John and Elizabeth. Around 1810 they moved on to Muhlenberg Co., KY. I'm not sure if Elizabeth's family was from Ashe Co., or around Guiliford.
