Granville Bascom Overhulse

My great grandfather was Granville Bascom Overhulse who fought in the Civil War in the 42nd Ohio Infantry. I do not know who his parents were except that his father was born in Pennsylvania and his mother in Ohio. I am trying to find out who his parents were and how he fits into the other Overhulse's who fought in the Civil War from Ohio. How doesthe lineage of Overhulse, Overholtzer, Oberholtzer connect? Thanks

Did you get any information on the family? Because of the spelling, I believe that this family came from Virginia to Ohio. The 1732 immigrant came to Lancaster Co and his son went to Virginia. I am missing a link before I can tie it together.

No, I hadn't tried answering your response yet. I'm just now getting around to it, so don't know what the other message was. As I said in my original message, we know very little about my husband's family. Do you belong to the Overhulse family? We can only go back as far as one generation. Was hoping someone out there would know more. Is there anything specific we might be able to work on? My email address is umammars if I can be of any help from this end. Marsha

Overhulse Family

My mother-in-law was born Vivian Evelyn Overhulse on 8/20/11 in Ellery, Ohio. Parents were Laurence Carlton Overhulse Effie Josephine Elder Overhulse. My husband knows very little of his family so if anyone out there can give us any info it would be greatly appreciated. She married George Marshall in Ohio sometime in the mid 1930's. She died in Tucson, AZ in 1996.
