I'm looking for information on the maiden name of Squire Owens wife #1 Nancy and #2 Mary Wright. Squire and Nancy were born in Orange County, North Carolina and born in 1810 and 1817 respectively.

Squire dies in Ark/MO and Nancy inherits the farm and land in Perry County, TN where she dies in abt. 1874.

Squire's father is Belithia Owens b. Maryland 1776 and dies in Humphrey Co, TN. His father was Only Owens b. 1745 Maryland. I have lots on Owens line but can't ID Nancy's maiden name. Any ideas????

If you have a copy of the pension papers, they should tell you were he enlisted and what company he was with. Then you will have an idea where to begin your search.

Pvt. Donald D. Owens, of Cleveland WW II MIA Identified

[names omitted] and Pvt. Donald D. Owens, of Cleveland, will be buried as a group, in a single casket, on July 20 in Arlington National Cemetery. In late September 1944, their unit, the 773rd Tank Battalion, was fighting its way east to France's eastern border, clearing German forces out of the Parroy Forest near Lunéville. On Oct. 9, 1944, in the final battle for control of the region, . . . Owens and two other soldiers were attacked by enemy fire in their M-10 Tank Destroyer. Two men survived with serious injuries but . . . and Owens were reported to have been killed. Evidence at the time indicated the remains of the men had been destroyed in the attack and were neither recovered nor buried near the location.
