i am the daughter of diana oxman. I am looking for any info on the oxman faimly who lived in brooklyn ny in this century.

My stepfather David Oxman lived in NY sometime during the 30's and possibly 40's as a Furrier.
I don't know much at all about his family but I know he did have family from NY. David later
moved to Minnesota and then to Arkansas in later yrs where he married twice but had no children.

My grt grandmother was an Oxman. She spelled as Ochsman. However, all other family members spelled as Oxman, including her children when listing her name. The Oxman family has a large burial plot in Mt Hebron Cemetery, Queens, NY. There is a Frank Oxman burried there who was a partner in the funeral palor of Blum Oxman on the lower eastside of NY. Frank Oxman was a nephew of my grt grandmother.

hi, i lost track of the web posting and just now found it. my mom was diana oxman doughter of bernard oxman. he was the youngest of many brothers living in brooklyn( i think) in the earlier part of the 1900's . they were russian jewish and i know that he fought in the us army during ww2. i believe that abraham oxman was his father who died in 1965. they too at one time went by the surname ocshman.and i have also heard refernce to the name as axman or axeman. i could ask my mom for more info if needed. what i am looking for are his brothers children so that i may locate my cousins.

Hi! My grandfather is Charles Oxman. He is buried in Mt. Hebron in Queens. My mother is Selma (his daughter). She is living. My grandfather Charles died in 1982 in Queens. He fought in WWll in France--part of the Lost Batalion. He came here from Russia. I have heard there are family members still living in Russia with a different spelling of the name, some are still alive and one may be a doctor. I believe he came from the Ukraine. My grandfather settled in the Bronx near Yankee Stadium. He married Hannah Cynamon (may have been changed to Anna Zinamon) from Warsaw. My cousin Larry Oxman lives in NY. Any more info we can put together would be great.

Hi, My Oxman family originally spelled our name as Ochsmann. I recently located the entry of my gr grandmother coming to the US in 1896 on the Ellis Island site. Although she married 3 times her death certificate lists her maiden name as Oxman.

Several other family members changed to Oxman as well. There was one cousin (a nephew of my gr grandmother) who was a funeral director in New York City. The funeral home was called Blum & Oxman. He, of course, buried some family members.

My gr grandmother was Beila, her mother was Frieda and her father was Abraham. She had a brother Arron and Wolf or Velvel. Plus I think another brother.

My grandfather was also named Samuel Oxman and he emigrated from the Ukraine(Drashe) in the early 1920s. He was married to Edna Kissel from Keiv. They both lived in Malden,Ma and moved to Chelsea, Ma in the 30's.
