I am looking for any information on the descendants of John Oxman Jr. and Justina Matina (Tina) Groff.

They were married 14 NOV 1887 in White County.

John Jr. was born 25 Jun 1859 in Illinois, son of John and Eleanor Oxman shown on the 1860 Census as residing in Edwards County, Albion P.O..

Tina Groff Oxman, born 3 Nov 1859. is the daughter of Frederick Groff and Nomtje Ravenstein of White County.

I have located John and Tina Oxman on the 1920 Census residing in Kansas, Sedgewick County, Wichita City and the 1930 Census residing in California, Los Angeles County, Long Beach city.

Yes, I believe this is the John Oxman I am looking for. Are you related to this person or know of his descendants? His wife, Tina, is a sister to my great grandfather.

No, I am not related and have no other information on this John Oxman at present. I am from England and because it is a rare name here started to collect any occurences of the name in the hope of finding some of my missing Oxmans in the US and elsewhere. Do you know where he came from?

Check out http://www.littlewhitebull.com/oxman1/index.htm for information on the Oxman name.

John, the name "Oxman" is a spelling adaptation and traces its origin generally from the Russina/Polish border..

In the 1880 census, John father's place of birth is listed as England, so he is likely to be one of the English Oxmans rather than the Russian / Polish Oxmans.
