I'm not sure if you are still looking for Palmer family info but my name is Scott T. Silker. My parents were C. Kenneth and Esther B. Silker of Rochester, Minnesota. My fathers Aunt was Evajean Palmer who was married to Hubert Palmer of Ball Club Minnesota. I can remember visiting them on Red and Joyce Greiff's (Grieff?)farm many times. Evajean's brother, Frank Lockwood and his wife Mamie lived right behind my parents house and was my babysitter. The Lockwood's and the Moon's have a very long and international history. IE Moons settled with William Penn in Bucks Cty Pennsylvania as Quakers.

Donna,

Yes ma'am, I'm pretty sure this is the same one. Do you or your son-in-law have any resources documenting that his parents were James and Nancy? I'm not doubting you, just trying to accumulate as many resources as I can and hopefully write all this down for my kids. Thanks in advance!

Sincerely,
Doug Pack

Hi:

I found your posting and several others on line, posted on an ancestry message board, that stated you were looking for information about Packs of Devon England, and/or Samuel Pack who married Agnes Trenick.

Firstly, here's hoping that these messages still reach you.

Secondly, I am researching the Pack line for my cousin who is a direct descendant
of Samuel PACK and Agnes TRENICK. [as you can POSSIBLY see if the file attached]

I am interested to see IF you have found anymore information and this line, and/or their ancestors.

Thirdly if you have made any other connections with fellow researchers on line, and are willing to share their email addresses or are willing to forward my request for more information to them.

Fourthy IF you are willing to share whatever information you have found, or can point me in the right direction to find what you found.

I am willing to share whatever information I have on this line, that you MIGHT be interested in also.

Here's hoping we can be mutually beneficial to each other.

I look forward to hearing from each of you.

Sincerely,

Sharon Lamb
robin_lamb@telus.net
Aldergrove, B.
Civil War Packs from Virginia

A Tyree Pack, originally from Patrick County, VA is buried in the Point Lookout POW cemetery in southern Maryland. He was captured during the Battle of Chancellorsville, and later died of disease at Pt. Lookout. He appears to be 1 of 5 Packs from that county who served/died in the Civil War. Does anyone know where he fits in with the Patrick County Packs? (parents/siblings/children)?

There are at least 25 stones which are illegible and we had taken pictures of all those graves. There are several more in Streeter and Panters Knob that we intend to do in the summer.
I have a meeting with our Historical Society that I need to attend this week (I am a member of) and will ask this question to our membership.
Also One arm Bill Lilly is our GGGrandfather and Shooting Bob Lilly as well.
We also had taken pictures of the Lilly-Crews Cemetery of which has to still be placed online and the others we haven't had a chance to post.
I had grown up here Ted and am pretty well informed about my family heritage.
We have already seen many of the sons of this Pack-Lilly line die at a young age with heart issues. The daughters live a long life from my experiences of knowledge here within my family heritage.
I enjoy your communication and knowledge Ted. Thank You!!!

I saw the tombstone. I wondered who came up with the 1755 that was carved on it, and what source they used. The tombstone in the picture is obviously new, or relatively new. It can't date from 1833, when he died, and still have letters that crisp. Is it a copy of the one that was on his first grave?

Samuel's parents and exact date of birth have always been subject to debate among to Pack researchers.

I descend from Samuel via
Loammi Pack (1791 - 1858)
Bartley Pack (1822 - 1896)
Robert Lee Pack (1863 - 1912)
Roy Elmo Pack (1893 - 1942)
My dad
Me

Wanda, I know this real late, from 2002 but I've been reseaching this line, my line leaves @ Issac's brother Jefferson. Issac had a son Jefferson as well, whom died as a POW in a Yank camp but it was said his hair was long & black and had dark skin. His brother Jackson, Thomas and sister Martha all filed in Franklin & Grundy County, Tennesse as Cherokee in 1909 Roll, claiming through their father Issac Pack. That would mean all of William Jefferson Pack children had Cherokee blood through William or his wife.

John Pack
Shawnee, Oklahoma

Hi! I'm researching my b/f's genealogy for him..and now I have run into dead ends (so to speak) on the Pack side of the family.

Jack was born 1959 in Oregon.

Son of:

Olen Robert Rainwater b 15 March 1917 in Childress County, Texas; d 13 July 1983 in Roseburg, Oregon and Mary Alice Roberson b approx 1931 in Broken Bow, OK; d 20 June 1980 in Oregon.

Mary Alice's last name might be spelled differently, but Jack is the last surviving member of the family and the spelling is to the best of his recollection.

Mary Alice is the daughter of Irene Pack..no further information other than the Packs are from OK.

Does anyone have any information that would be helpful? Thank you very much in advance for your assistance. I have been unable to locate data via census, etc.

Just commenting to shuffle this query to the top to see if anyone has anything?

William Pack of Northampton, Northants, born ~1813/14. He appears to have served in the 21st and 31st Regiments of Foot, pensioning in 1847 aged 35. Married Frances Hall same year (1847), and had children in Wolverhampton.

William Pack was buried in Billing Road Cemetery (Northampton) on March 22nd 1895.

I'd like to try and learn of his parentage. In censuses he stated he was born in Northampton.
James Alvis Pack was married one time only. He had 14 children, two sets of twins. Mattie was his second child born 1908 and died 1909. Your James Ellis Pack must be a different person. All the information I have on him came from his grandfather.

In reading this thread and the other responses you have made I am interested in James Alvis Pack (b 1882 - 8/12/1965), son of Lafayette Pack and Nancy Burnett.
You state he was married to Emma L. Davis and they had one child, Mattie L. Pack and they resided in Wheeler, Van Buren, Ark

Is it possible that James Alvis Pack was married before he married Emma?

There are many similarities to my family connection James Ellis Pack (abt 1875) Married to Amy Ruth Gateley (1878 Dardanelle Ark). We do not know for certain that his middle name is Ellis. This is information passed down from the grandchildren. I posted earlier today that Amy Ruth told her grandchildren her husband had died in a flood and that she put her two sons up for adoption in 1909. One of those sons was the father of her grandchildren...stories are often "fabricated to shield the reputation". Could her husband have abandoned her in 1909.

The family "history" also indicates there is Cherokee blood in the lineage. Could this be my link?

Any information you can share would be most appreciated.
rkwagnon@yahoo.com

Pack family, Dardanelle, Yell, Arkansas

Seeking information on James Pack born about 1875. His middle name may have been Ellis. He married Amy Ruth Gateley (1878 Dardanell Ark) about 1905.

His parents may have been Sarah Thomas and Richard Pack. I have been unable to document his parents. We think they were from Kentucky and that James was born in Arkansas. I know of no siblings.

James and Amy had three children: Berneice Sedlia Pack (1906 Ark), Oscar Lynn Pack (1907 Dardanelle Yell Ark) and Coy Andrew Pack (1909 Dale, Pottawatomie, Okla.)

The story goes that James was killed in a flooded river in 1909. I have been unable to find anything about the death nor a grave. As a result, Amy put the two boys up for adoption in 1909. Oscar was adopted by the Hiner family and Coy was adopted by the Stone family. Berneice died during the Spanish influenza about 1919.

This family falls thru the census cracks and none of the Gately family contacts have information on Amy Ruth.
She did make limited contact with her grandchildren in later years and that is why information is sketchy. One of those grandchildren is my father.

Anyone who might have any information that will help me break through the wall would be most appreciated.
rkwagnon@yahoo.com
