Hello, I placed the Paddy/Clopton family photos in 20006 with a man named Jerry Deal, PO Box 87, Wheelock, TX 77882. At the time his e-mail address was joanndeal@sbcglobal.net. That's probably his wife. I also have 2 photos that were in the same batch of a man named Tommy Wells. I have no idea if he connects to the Paddy/Clopton family. I hope you are successful!!

Yes our Paddy connections do link up. Rosa Maria Paddy was the Gt Grandaughter of William Paddy who is my 3rd Gt Grandfather. I don't know if you have been able to navigate yourself around the family tree on my website but it would be very nice indeed to swap info with you. I'm new to this game, but checking your website I think we are related through me Great Grandmother Rose Maria Paddy, as my Grandfather is Oliver Heath Born in 1889 in Coventry Warwickshire, and my mother is Gwendoline Marjorie Blackburn, nee Heath born in Coventry on 5 August 1920.

Thanks for tyour message re the Paddy Family. I can confirm that the only William Thomas Paddy I have in my tree (born in Coventry 1906)died also in Coventry aged 13 months in April 1907. I have also checked there is no Emily Whiston married to any of the Paddy's in the tree either. Good luck with your research.

Recently discovered my many years rearching for surname PARRY may well be the name PADDY. My grandfather Henry John PARRY and his siblings between 1883 to 1902 in Aston Manor, Birmingham were all registered as PADDY. Their parents were William Thomas PADDY and Emily Whiston. But they all appear as PARRY in the 1891/1901 census for Aston. Later documents for Henry (WWI records, Marriage,Death)all show PARRY. The family were jewellers/goldsmiths/silversmiths. Eventually they moved out to Edgebaston sometime before 1916. It was suggested today, they may have changed their name when they moved for some reason. Are you connected to this family, or know of any connections ?

OLD PADDY/CLOPTON FAMILY ITEMS FOUND

Dear List,

I have rescued several old Paddy & Clopton family items. I purchased these items at a sale in north central Texas. They include:

1. Texas State Birth Certificate of Hugh Quindale Paddy. He was b. 22 July 1931 in Calvert, Robertson Co. TX. This is the original certificate, complete with the notary seal. Parents are listed as Ben Paddy & Ruth Clopton.

2. Huge Q. Paddy Hawaiian Infantry Training Center Certificate, dated Aug 4, 1951.

3. Hugh Q. Paddy Honorable Discharge Certificate, dated April 2, 1954.

4. Wheatland School photo, dated 1942. Photo has name of Dorothy Marie Paddy, 8th grade on the back. I would suspect this school was possibly in Robertson County, TX.

5. 8 x 10 photo of Pvt. Alfred Clopton of Hearne, TX.

Paddy Coat of Arms

There is a coat of arms claimed as belonging to the male members of a branch of the Paddy family : Sable, an inescutcheon ermine between Four lions rampant argent. Crest, on a cap of Maintenance a lion passant argent.
I'd be interested in hearing from anyone with a knowledge of the source for these arms (authority, original holder etc.) and of the history of this Paddy family.

You will find them under the Paddy Family Tree. Henry's Parents are John and Mary. I believe John's parents are Joshua F Paddy and Elizabeth.
