Paez...Steinemann...NO INFORMATION IS KILLING ME!!!

Heres the story. My husband grandfather's name was Raymond Paez. (brn. 1879 in Cuba) Raymond told the story that his dad (also Raymond, born in Spain, lived in Cuba)took him to Florida as a child and taught him how to roll cigars. In 1890 when Raymond was 12 years old his Dad took him to a bridge in Chicago and told him that he 'taught him a trade' and just left him there on the bridge..12 years old...geez...Anyway, he never saw his father again. Doing family research I did find a cigar rolling Paez in New York in 1910. Married to a woman named Mary with 2 kids named Lydia and Joseph Paez. Then in 1930 I found what I think is Lydia(Lydae), her mother Maria Acoste and her brother Joseph Paez (florist) and 2 of Lydia's children named Lydia(Lydae) and Dorothy (Steinemann). Their dad's names is Peter Steinemann and they resided in Manhattan...and now...I got nothing...Anyone know anything about this Steinemann family or Joseph Paez?

Hi Samantha,
I met Mr. Lowey, I think his name was Herbert, they used to call him "Herby", he married Ms. Mercedes Paez probably in the 70's (and died probably around 1995). He adopted her five children, and they had a girl (whose name I cannot recall, now probably 35 years old). Christobal, who you claim to be your father, married and separeted in the 80's (I think). He had a boy who suffered terrible burns in all of his body in an airlplane accident that occurred in Guatemala around 1988 (or so). Ms. Mercedes is (or was) a lovely person, she used to gather all of her family for Christmas and for Thanksgiving. She got back to Guatemala in the 90's.
If you are still looking for Chistobal, you may try to find him in "Sanatorio Las Majadas" Hospital in Guatemala city (www.sanatoriolasmajadas.com), I think he is the owner of this place, together with his cousing Edgardo Paez.
Please do not ask about my identity, I will not tell you. I met the Paez family during the 90's but now I do not want to have any further communication with them. I have not had any news from that family since 1996.
Good luck!
Hi,
My name is Samantha Britell, but I was originally named Samantha Mercedes (Paez) Conroy. I do not know my biological father, Christobal Paez, born to Mercedes. I don't know much about my biological father, but he was born in 1966, and supposedly his father died. His mother Mercedes married a DC police officer by the name of Lowey... I don't know if any of this helps you, but I am trying to find a lead on my biological father. If you know anything please contact me at: britell11@sbc.edu
Thanks,
Sam

My name is Francisco Guadlupe Paez. My father was Frank Paez & Mother is Maria nee Martinez. We've had "Sara" & "Juanita" in our family. I believe there was an "Antonio Paez" in our family but he is believed to have lived in Alice, TX where a "Pedro Paez" & family resided. My father's mother was Virginia Olivarez. Her brother, Jose Olivarez, lives in California. I believe the Olivarez branch lives in El Paso & Saginaw, Michigan. His father was Frank H.Paez. The "H" is Hilliard, for his mother, Mary Hilliard who was a mid-wife who delivered me. Some of the family lives in Fresno, California & others in Arizona.

It's hard to say where it's from originally. I've found the name recorded in the Catholic Church archives as early as the 12 century. Maria Paez was selected by the first Portuguese Prince later King to bare him a son. Apparently she had a girl so the Prince never married her. However, early names found in Mexico might lead to Spanish origins. The word “Paez” in Farsi (spoken by the Moors then and Iranians now) is the word meaning the season “Fall.”
