Fermin is pictured in the yearbook of the 422nd Technical School Squadron at Amarillo Army Air Field in Amarillo, Texas. The 422nd produced mechanics and technicians to maintain the Flying Fortresses. I'm not kin but thought this might help someone researching this family.

I am Connie Palacio fm Zamboanga City ,Philippines, sad to say I cannot trace the family of my father coz he passed away very young. Same as I was, he never had told us the whole story of his family who came from Tabon Tabon, Leyte and as far as I can remember he told me his orignal place was Palo, Leyte and his mother's family name is LUBAN..

Marcelino Palacio, Guanajuato

I have come across three letters from 1973 addressed to D. Marcelino Palacio, in Guanajuato. I found them in some old papers a family friend had and would like to reconnect them to the proper family. The postmark is from Mexico and they are written in Spanish. The handwriting is absolutely beautiful. I'm sorry, I don't speak Spanish so I have no idea what is in the letters. I just know how happy I am to locate any piece of family history and would like to pass these on to someone in the family.

Born: 1835, died: 2 Jun 1920. Places for each dates 'who knows'. Maria was married to Jose Maria Lopez who died about 1874. I'm gathering documentation for her file.

Thanks for your email concernign the Palacio family. I do not see the names of your PALACIO family in the research I ahve done - but have a feeling thath we might be from the same family as our family oral tradition is that our PALACIO ancestors were from Zacatecas - and when our gret-grandma died she left part of her estate to the Zacatecas diocese (naming a particular parish)for the care of the poor.

So the search goes one. Please keep in touch if you find any further connection as will I.

I have a Palacio in my family history, so thought I would put this out there.

My GGrandmother's maiden name was Palacio, first name Petra.
Originally from Zacatecas. Born in late 1870's. She married into Zamarripa family in late 1890's.
Lived in Aguascalientes/RIncon de Romos before moving to Los Angeles in the early 1920s, with her daughter Juana's family.

She had a son and two daughters, Juana and Consuela (Nini). I can't remember the son's name, as he died in the 1930's, well before I was born.

The family, minus my GGrandfather Zamarripa (who never returned from the war-revolution) moved to Los Angeles circa 1922.

My Name is Erlinda Palacio My fathers name is Robert Paul Palacio his Fathers Name is Fred Palacio and Mother Carmen Palacio from California. I belive we are related. My Uncles name is Thomas (Tommy ) Palacio. That is your Dad. You also have several other aunts and uncles. Or we both do I should say. :)

I have been trying to research my father's family and I saw your posting.

My father was raised by Leonora Solarez from very young until she passed in 1976. As children we would visit Jacinta P. Martinez in San Diego, we knew her as our aunt.

I am also a Palacio. Full name is Marcelo Cesar R. Palacio. Father's name is Leonilo Campit Palacio whose father - that is my grandfather, is Joaquin Palacio. My family roots is said to be from Batangas and Quezon province. Presently we are residing in the Bicol region, here in the Philippines. My father's family came from Asturias. San Justo is the name of the town my grandpa was born. He went to Cuba early 1900, my father was born in Cuba. One of my grandpa's brothers went to Mexico. I have heard the name Felipe but not sure where. Currently I am in California.

hello joann. how are you? i also come from the palacio clan here in the philippines. you said your father's name is fred? what a coincidence, my father's name is alfredo jr & my grandfather's is alfredo sr. before i was born my parents named my older brother alfred III. unfortunately he died @ the age of 3..

anyway, may i ask if you have filipino forebears? or you came from a pure hispanic race? i learned that our surname originated from spain. it doesn't only sound beautiful, it also has a touch of monarchy, right?

even when i was younger, people here who would hear my name would immediately ask, "do you own a palace?" i would normally answer, "yeah! my ancestors did!"

well so long for now, i hope you would have a time to read this message, for who knows, we might share the same great great great grandparents' history..

My grandfather's name is Mariano Palacio who was born in Chihuahua,Mexico in the 1880's.He left my grandmother with three sons named Alvaro,Raul and Mariano jr.Alvaro was born in El Paso,Texas raised as a kid in Chihuahua.When he was 17yrs. old he lived and worked in Juarez and El Paso then moved to Los Angeles,Ca.with his wife Elva (Chita).If you know where my grandfather went after he left my grandmother let me know.

Did Eciquio have a brother or some other relative named Bacilio Palacio? My greatgrandfather had a sister Felipa Vasquez whose padrino at baptism was Bacilio Palacio without the "s" at the end and madrina Josefa Garcia. This was in Brownsville, by the way.
In the 1860 Census for Cameron County there is a Bacilio Palacio(41) married to Josefa(40) with two others, possibly their children, Jose de la Paz(20) and Cliofa(8). And from somewhere else I have a note that they were married March 27, 1854. There may be some other Palacio families in that same census.
