Hi, it's been a while since I've been on here.
2 years ago went to Adami, Decollatura and Nicastro - they are little
tiny villages next to each other on the west coast right along the sea.
It is absolutely beautiful. Have you gotten your genealogy for the Panes.
Yes, the name Pane has been changed to Pann and Payne.
However, if you have that name in those villages you are all related.
Sometimes distant, nevertheless, of the same blood. Let me know
Rachelle

Looking for descendants of James PANE (b1812 Birmingham) who married Mary Ann JOHNSON (b1815 Birmingham) in Birmingham in March 1838.

They had 12 children - including Edwin Richard PANE (b1854 Birmingham) who married Mary Jane GATELEY (b1855 Birmingham). We are fairly certain that they emigrated to New York after about 1881. Its very likely that some of Edwin Richard's brothers & sisters followed them to America.

Would love to get in touch with 'lost cousins'. I am descended from Edwin Richard's brother Henry PANE (b1849).

Claire (Australia)

Hi Lynne,

What a nice surprise to see that you are investigating the Pane family from Pedivigliano. My grandmother Rachele Pane was born there. I started doing her family history and have been able to get it all the way back to the 1700's, thanks to two wonderful people. Mary Jo Loyd and Sam Tomaino. In fact we found that Mary Jo and I have the same ggg grandmother. It seems the Pane family is from that little tiny hamlet. If you go on her web site you will find the little mountainous region that most of the Pane family is from. Her email is mjloyd@italygenes.com. She has a web site that is so fantastic. She shows you a pic of that area. She also has a data base on the Pane and Vescio family and many other families in that area that is extremely extensive. After contacting her please let me know what you find. We may be cousins. More than likely we are. What area are you from. I am from Bucks County in Pennsylvania. Across the river from TRenton New Jersey. I hope she has info for you. Great wishes and happy hunting. Can't wait to hear from you.
Rachele
P.S. Tell MaryJo I sent you.
My aunt has Oil Portrait (16X24) of tenants/ neighbors from years ago. Katherine Pane (Payne) resided @2909 Broad St. Bristol,Tn.Her husband was overseas in Army, they had 2 children, a son born in 1954, daughter born in 1955. Her husband died of heart attack. Katherine remarried, gave birth to 1 other daughter. She "had people" in N.C., this is thought to be where the children were raised. My aunt, June Shumaker has been on a quest for 20+ years to locate heirs. This is a unique "classic" heirloom, I have small photo of portrait for anyone to I.D., Katherine and her first 2 children (1girl, 1 boy)

Allison, Haven't talked to you for a while Guiseppe Pane (my great uncle) born 30 October 1880 in Panettieri, Italy came to New York via Naples on the SS Lahn in 1903. His wife Rosa Arcuri came to New York in December 1908 on the SS Barbarbosa, after which they were married. His brother Antonio, born in 1886, came to America via Naples on the SS Cedric in March 1910. His wife, Melina Mancuso and young daughter Teresa followed in 1913 on the SS America. According to immigration papers Guiseppe and Antonio's father was named Giovanni Pane. Does this match with anything you have?

I am searching for information about the family of William S. Pane, who along with my
great grandfather enlisted in Company C, 84th PA Inf. on September 16, 1862. The men
of Company C were from Donegal, Cook, and Ligonier Townships in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. They were recruited by James Wirsing and William Logan, who subsequently were elected their commanding officers. Any information about the family of this man would be appreciated.
