Theodore Kolokotronis had at least two sons - Ioannis (Yennaios) and Panos. Panos was married to the daughter of Mpoumpoulina ( the famous female admiral) and was killed during one of the civil wars which followed the Greek war of Independance.

Traude,

Was Gennaios a biological son of his? I'm reading Kolokotronis' autobiography, and so far I've only come across an adopted son, who was born c1804. I'm far from finished, though. I'll let you know if I find anything else.

When was Gennaios born?

Are you a descendent of Constantin?

Theo

Pantazopoulos and Theodore Kolokotronis

My maternal grandfather's side of the family is Pantazopoulos. However, no one goes by Pantazopoulos anymore. Variations of the name on my family tree include Pantages, Pandazes, and Pantazis. (I'm disappointed that no one goes by the original name, because it has to be my favorite last name ever. lol)

I'm interested in finding out information about Theodoros Pantazopoulos (born c1860) and his wife, Helen Georgoulos (born c1870 and died c1900). Their son, John Pantazopoulos/Pantages/Pandazes/Pantazis was born in 1891 in Harokopio, Messinia, Greece. I have all his information, but I have no additional information about his parents, especially his mother, whose last name could have a different ending. (GEORGOUL is all I'm sure about.)

Also, according to a shady cousin of my grandfather, we're distantly related to Theodore Kolokotronis, whose mother was supposedly a Pantazopoulos. Does anyone have any evidence to back up that claim? That's a pretty big, albeit distant, connection. However, I'm taking that cousin's word as a grain of salt, simply due to the fact that he had a bad reputation among his family.

Thanks in advance for any information.

Theo

I by chance came across your message, I recently lost my grandmother and as I was going through her wallet I found a picture of a man with the name of Danny Pantage on the back. It was very old and she carried it in her wallet for 55 years. I just was taken a chance and courious to know if that name rang a bell to you. He must have been special for her to carry that picture of him for so long. If there is anything you can tell me about that name I would appreciate it.
