Looking for relatives. My fathers name was Nacionseno Pantoja Negron, his fathers name was Jose Pantoja Lozada, and my fathers mothers name was Concepcion Negron Rivera. Anyone outther that may know of my Family?

My father is also form Vega Alta, and my father told me that his grandfather was from spain. He did not tell me where in spain. But but if we are all related, this Pantoja came from Spain. As far as I know all the Pantoja that I have contacted are from Vega Alta and Vega Baja. I'm searching for my g-grandfather in spain. Good luck in your search even though it was 10 years ago.

My grandfather's mother was Pantoja, possibly Sorroro, or Socorro. Don't think she was married to his father Jose.

My aunt was Isabel Pantoja born in PR in 1927. She had brothers, Pedro Armengol, Ceasar and Jose Pantoja. There parents were Rita Julia Cruz who passed away in 1949 in Bronx, NY and there dad was Angel Narcissco Pantoja-Irizzary.

Let me know if we are talking about the same people.

hi, my grandfather was j. eddie pantoja, his nickname was "chito" and he also used to go by the name "michael" he was born in either venice, california or ventura california. he died in 1982-83. he had a son "lalo" who lived in montebello, california. i am trying to find out the origins of the pantoja's. i know they started out in chihuahua, but what are their origins ? how long have they been in california ?? does any of these names sound familiar ? if so please e-mail me at mskiki@gaggle.net.

Hi there, my surname is also Pantoja, my family comes from Vega Baja, Puerto Rico. I know that my family was in the sugar cane industry back when it was a comadety. In research that I have I done it also says we originate from Spain. In reading your post I noticed you had quite a bit more information than I had found and would like to know where you found the info. I'm also interested in finding the family crest/coat of arms of the pantoja family I have found a few but there are 3 different kinds and I would like to know which is true and it's history.

Hi, By any chance you did't have relatives by the names og Luis pantoja Torres-Day and Carmen Guevara Lares. their children are(some of them) Maria, Manuela, Concepcion, Rosa, Bertha, Abelardo, Reynaldo, Ramon, Jesus, Manuel ETC. Some of them have Died, I know their children and grend children are all over like TX and CA. Well Im Concepcion ( Concha) grandchild and if we are related I will like to touch bases and exchange info. Thanks Brenda Thayer.

i am looking for my ancestors also. i found out my grandfather came from germany. also from spain. i am also looking to find what kind of indians we are. my brother said we are estechs, and one of my sisters said we are apache. so i hope that helps.

Hi,
My grandfather added an s to the name but his brother always said it was Pantoja. My birth certificate states it as Pantojas but I have decided to come to the root. We are from Puerto Rico and the general view is the the family originates in spain from a moorish family called Almildez... they took the more spanish sounding name to avoid persecution. They distinguished themselves in battle in the retaking of toledo and a Plaza I believe carries the name honored by the King of Spain at the time. Don't know how true it is but merits research. and like someone here said all Pantoja are family we share a single root. Moor and Spanish.

FLY CREEK — Josefa Pantoja, 88, of Fly Creek died Sunday morning, March 14, 1999.
Josefa was born Sept. 22, 1910, in Vega Alta, Puerto Rico, a daughter of Jose and Cruz (Concepsion) Serrano.
Josefa married Luis Pantoja on Jan. 1, 1932, in Vega Alta, Puerto Rico.
She worked as a seamstress in New York City for many years, before moving to Ft. Lauderdale.
Mrs. Pantoja will be remembered for her love of sewing for family and friends as well as her devotion to her family.
She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Aida and Bruce Ostapeck of Fly Creek, Violet and Julio Cuesta of Gaithersburg, Md., and Carmen and Jose Nieves of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; a son, Jose Pantoja of Fly Creek; many grandchildren, great- and great-great-grandchildren; and a cousin, Isabell Concepsion.
She was predeceased by her husband, Luis Pantoja, on Sept. 27, 1989.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 17, 1999, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church Center in Cooperstown, with Father John R. Roos officiating. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, March 16, 1999, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Tillapaugh Funeral Home in Cooperstown, when the family will be in attendance.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Tillapaugh Funeral Service, Cooperstown and Milford.
