Parents of Steven Victor Para

I have a death certificate for Steven Victor Para, died 1942 in Tennessee. Listed on it as his parents are Kiacoma Para and Chiarlone Maria di Steffano. I know that they immigrated from Italy aroun 1880, but I can't find any other information on them. I have managed to find that their "Americanized" names were Jacob and Mary. We know that their last name was shortened or changed, but from what? I dunno...

The family was living in Memphis, Tennessee. I know what happened with Steven's children.

Can anyone help?

Hello William,

my fifth great grandmother was MAJDALENA RADA, born ca. 1773 in Zemetice, Merklin. Her parents were THOMAS and CATHARINA.

Zemetice is not far from Mysliv, so there might be a connection but this data is all I have.

I will take a look at this part of my tree later today.

Greetings from good ol' Europe.

Wow! Thank you very much for the new info and new questionmarks.

I know John PARA and Camilla (nee BARTUNEK) could not have children.

So now I know that Hazel (nee ?) was his second wife there is chance for me to find relatives.

I found out Camilla (* Jun 1889, NY) and Edward (*16 Nov 1891, NY) were children of John and Mary Bartunek of Bohemia.

I found a entry in the Elizabeth Directory of 1921:

PARAGON TALKING MACHINE CO
(John Para & Edward Bartunek)
talking machines and supplies
853 E JERSEY

,so them were business partners.

I really don't know who could be
Mildred. Or Jack.

Unfortunately I could not find any Bohac connection in my family or to Klášter,Přestice (German: Kloster, Prestitz)

Bye, Kay

It doesn't look like John and Camilla had any children based on the census. Who is Mrs Mildred C Para who lived in their house in 1930? Is Hazel a second wife?

My grandmother had ancestors in Bohemia, so I'm curious if there's more than a friend connection. He passed last year at 96 years of age. His father's name was also Stanley Andrew Para from Bialka, Poland. I think he was born around 1887 and immigrated to the USat the age of 17 years of age in 1904. He married an Anna Vojac (her married name, her first husband was killed in Pa.) They had five children, Joe, Stanley, Virginia (Jennie), John and Nellie. They have all since passed.

Para Family in Chicago

My great grandmother was Apolonia Para and she lived in Chicago aroung the turn of the 20th century. I have no other information about her other than she married John Klimeczko someetime in the late 1800's, early 1900's and my grandmother Mary Klimeczko was born in the early 1900's.
Does anyone have knowledge of the Para Family in the Bridgeport area of Chicago, possibly St. John of God Parish, or St. Joseph's Parish?

my real mom

To anyone who can help,

My real mom's name is Gravida Para; she was 19 when I was born on July 31, 1978 in Madison, WI. I believe she was a student at the university. I attend the same university, the University of Wisconsin. I was adopted on August 12, 1978 by Kenneth and Danette Brink who reside in Benton, WI. I love my parents very much, but it would be interesting to get in contact with my real mom. I would like to find out if she is married, has other kids, what her career is, where she resides, her heritage, family information, etc. If anyone can help me, please e-mail me. I am sure she is married now though. I have been thinking about this for a long time, and now is about the time that I feel secure enough to take this large step. Thanks

Michael Brink
