Sallie is a nickname for Sarah. The information I have is: Sarah M. Lodge, daughter of John and Sarah Lodge, b. 12/18/1850 in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, married 1/5/1875 in Philadelphia, PA, d. 3/22/1885 in Lebanon, PA, buried in Odd Fellows Cemetery. They had three children: George Lodge Paradee, b. 1/5/1878, married Eleanore Lewis on 1/18/1904 in Pittsburgh, PA, d. 4/27/1954 in Franklin, PA (I have obit.); John Everly Grove Paradee, b. 11/29/1880 in Delaware, died after 1954 in NC, married Jane Houghton on 2/23/1916 in NC, had two children: Thomas Houghton Paradee and Sarah Lodge Paradee; and your Edward Taylor Paradee. I have the information about Stephen being lost at sea in 1885. He was married on January 5, 1875 to Sarah Lodge and had three children. Is that the information you have? I have more information if you are interested.

Shiela, I saw your message to Trey re the Paradee/Pardee family. I believe we are related - my gggrandparents were John and Matilda Butler Paradee. I know one of their children, Stephen Paradee, had a son named Edward T. Paradee and I assume that is your grandfather. I would love to exchange information. My biggest stumbling block is finding information about Matilda Butler. Take care!

I am the daughter of Stephen Pardee, granddaughter of Edward T. Pardee, both of Delaware. We trace our line back to John Pardee (abt. 1708-abt. 1748), son of Stephen Pardee (abt. 1677-1727?)and Margaret Lowber. The spelling is usually Paradee or Parradee at that time. There appears to be an earlier ancestor, a Stephen Paradue, awarded land for service to Lord Baltimore in Maryland 1665. My source for this is Colonial Families of Delaware, Vol. 1 by F. Edward Wright. Would love to hear of any additional information you have, especially about the European source of this family.

Margaret Hoar is the daughter of Job Hoar and Hannah Pearson.
Margaret and her sister Mary Jane Hoar married Paradee brothers: George Thomas Paradee and James "Issac" Paradee. All lived in Vandalia, IL.

John Paradee left a will Kent Co., DE made 24 Oct 1748. Mentions children John, David, Mary & Elizabeth. Slos mentions brother STEPHEN. John Paradee's will was probated 29 Oct 1748.

hello i too have all that info. But mine is a Tina M. neice to Issac Paradee and Mary j Hoar. but i was able to go back just a little into the Hoar family and Issac paradee's family too. if you would like it let me know and i'll be more than happy to send u what i have. i have tried both middle letters(A. & M.) in the her name and come up with it being M. so i think the census person may have messed up put it all down on paper.

I have a Harold Paradee in our family tree whose father was James Albert Paradee (1878-1914) and mother was Maude Richardson (1882-1973)Lived in Fayette co. IL.

James Albert's father was Issac Paradee (1840-1925) m. to
Mary Jane Hoar (1845-1923) Both lived in Fayette Co., IL

Issac Paradee's father was Caleb Paradee (1809-1873)m to Elizabeth Griffith (1815-1860) Both buried in Collinsville, IL

Yes, Francis Paradee would be my great grandmother. Minnie Ellen Mathis, her daughter, was my grandmother. She married Wm. Anson Quinn, died in Minnesota, and is buried near Diagonal, Ringgold County, Iowa in the Quinn cemmetery.
I knew nothing but her mother's maiden name was Paradee until I put my family tree on Ancestry last week. Now I am finding messages and other tools! I have belonged for over four years, but just did the tree. I copied what I have back from Frances.
I lIve in Minnesota in the Twin Cities.

Karen, Sorry it took me two years to reply! I haven't checked this stuff for awhile. I have quite a bit of information to share. I would be happy to mail you what I have. My email is tparadee@comcast.net. I would be interested to know who was Thomas' father. Our family has always pronounced our last name "Par-dee" although it is spelled "Paradee". The second "a" is silent. I don't know why, but, according to my father, that is the way it has always been. I guess the lines that dropped the "a" got sick of explaining that it was silent!

Caleb Paradee born 1809 was the son of Caleb (1765-1826) and Rachel Paradee.
His parents were John Jr. (1730-1789) and Hannah (Luff) Paradee
John Jr. was the son of John (1708-1748). The name of his wife is unknown to me.

My grandfather was also a Pardee, born in Kent County, DE and his father Thomas dropped the "a" from the Paradee before my grandfather was born. We date directly from Stephen Paradee and are also related to Trey's family as I know that my gggrandfather and Trey's gggrandfather were brothers. I imagine that most of the Delaware Pardee/Paradees are related in some way. Would be interested in trading information. Karen

My father was born in Wilmington, DE. His grandmother was a Pardee. He had heard it was a French name but know one knew when the family came over. In fact no one knows anything about that strain of the family other than they were related to the Paradees of Sussex County, DE. The Pardees of New Castle, DE dropped the second "A" from the name.

I am looking for information on the family of Talesphore American Paradee.

In 1910 he was living in Dewey, Washington Co, Oklahoma as a widow, with 3 children. Son 16, Daughter 14, Daughter 11. All children born in Oklahoma. The census lists him as born in 1870 in Illinois

On the World War I Registration Index he & his son are listed as follows:
Talesphore American Paradee b. 19 Sept 1872 White
Talesphore Leo Paradee b. 30 May 1893 Indian

Any help in finding out about them would be greatly appreciated. In April 1915 Nathan Bozarth shot a man named Paradee in Dewey, Washington Co, OK. As Talesphore and his son were the only Paradee's in that town at the time, I believe one of them may have been the man shot.

Nathan Bozarth was my relative.

My mother's maiden name is Paradee~She is Henrietta Paradee and she is originally from Ramsey, Illinois. I believe she is descended from the Delaware Paradee's but we're researching this still-----Mom's father's name was Harold Paradee and his wife was Lenna Shempf.

My mother was one of 12 kids born to Harold and Lenna: Charles, William, Ernest, Michael, two brothers died real young Dale & Wayne; then the six girls were: Henrietta (my mom), Alice, Lavone, Eileen, Rosaline, and Clara Elizabeth.

In addition to these aunts and uncles I have a bunch of cousins---most live in Illinois in places such as Pana, Vandalia, Ramsey, Peoria, Springfield, Decatur, and elsewhere.

I was following my Grandfather Sabastian Paradee and found this census in 1910 Greenland TWP, MCCOOK, South Dakota which seems to be who you are also looking for. I will send you a photo of the census. might be able to share other info.

My maiden name was (Paradee). My grandfather was Louis Paradee & I think he came from Canada but have no idea where.He married Susan Beberger who was from Penn.The Paradee name could be spelled Paradis & some records show this,could be Parady,Parody;His father was Lewis Oliver Paradee

Do you have a Caleb Paradee, born 1809 in Delaware, married Elizabeth about 1830? Two children William and Mary Ann were born in Delaware, by 1850 they were in Madison Co., IL and had: Issac, Catherine, Ransom, Sarah Jane, Charles, Ellen and Joseph, all born in IL. 1870 Fayette Co., IL two more children are added: Oliver, Francis (mine) and Caleb. The last one is either by a new wife or a daughter in law.
In 1850, David Paradee, age 30 is living with him, probably a brother.
Caleb may be the son of Caleb on the 1810 census, Kent, Delaware, or at least a relative.

I am researching Pardee's in Kent, Queen Anne's and Talbot County. There is a family "rumor" that our Pardee's use to be spelled Paradee but I have found no evidence of that. Do you have any? Also looking for a Demastinese Pardee. He was my great great grandfather.

One of my husband's ancestors was Mary Anna Paradee. She married James Fisher Taylor. They lived in Kent County, Delaware.

Mary Anna's parents were Edward Paradee (b. 20 JAN 1818, d. 20 SEP 1896) and Caroline Pierce (b. 7 OCT 1818, d. 22 NOV 1872).

Any information about the Paradee family would be appreciated.
