I am a descendand of Thomas and Amelia Cole (Moule) who arrived here in 1888. I tried to contact Charles through the web address on Genuki but the mail was returned. If anyone has any information I would appreciate on hearing from you.
Regards
Kathryn Garnham

Hello
There is far too much information on the Cole's to give you. I would suggest that you contact Charles Cole who has put his family tree into book form. It is in four volumes which, not only contains family trees, but monument inscriptions, wills, news papers cuttings and photo's. I am not sure of the cost, as my husband bought it for me some six years ago, and have found it very useful. His address is Upcott Barton, Crediton, EX17 4LF. He is very helpful and I know he would be interested in hearing from a fellow Cole.
Good hunting
Doreen Norton

Re: Parkhouse in El Paso, Il

For some reason, the Parkhouse name rings a bell in my memory although I don't have it in my family tree info.

However, I am related to a number of McWilliams that were from the El Paso area. I am the grandson of Robert "Oscar" Mcwilliams who was the son of David McWilliams of Richland Co., Illinois. Oscar had the following siblings; Ida who I think lived in the Ashland, IL. area and married a ? Wright, John Andrew of Olney(Richland)IL.married to Rosa Lee Whitehead, Phillip(no info), Edward who at one time lived in Grayville(White)IL., Leonard who lived near Charleston(Coles) for a large part of his life, Katherine(Kate) who married William Riley and lived in Illinois, Margaret(Meg)married twice, (1)Mr. Shelby and (2) Mr. Minter and lived in Richland and Coles Co's in Illinois, Mollie who married John Wright and lived in Hoxie, Arkansas, James who married Etta Montgomery and lived most of his life in El Paso, IL., and George McWilliams who married Elizabeth Montgomery and also lived in the El Paso area I believe. I think this is the part of the family to whom you refer. I don't know much about George and Elizabeth(Montgomery)McWilliams. I understand they died young. The children I hav listed for them William"Everett", Harold, Bernice and Mary. Everett I knew very well. He lived in Charleston(Coles)IL. and I was very close to him as a child and young adult. Harold, his brother, was placed in a church orphanage(?) in the El Paso area if I remember right. If this rings a bell, let me know. I have quite a bit on the McWilliams family.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Ron

Yes! This is the family I believed George is with and confirmation from a family member is awesome! George and Elizabeth m. 3/4/1899 Ricland Co Il, only other record is her burial 7/16/1919 Evergreen Cem El Paso as Elizabeth McWilliams Robertson...believe his name was William? George's children I have are Viola(no record), Everett, Mary E, BernaDean, Harold and Homer(no record). It's interesting you have my Grandmother as Bernice so will follow that up. Etta and Elizabeth were daughters of Samuel A and Pricilla (Whitaker)Montgomery. Harold in 1920 is w/Frank and Nellie(Montgomery) Eft (another sister). TY for your help Ron! still looking for orphanges/homes where the children may have been when George died. I will stay in touch.....barbie

I don't think I can help with your specific Parkhouses, but they sound similar to mine. I have one from Taunton, Somerset, late 18th cent., a relative of which also lived in London, early 19th cent. I suspect they originated from Devon but I've yet to prove it. Check the GENUKI site for Somerset, specifically church records from Taunton St. Mary Magdalen. Then try the website of Roy Parkhouse, who has done much on the Parkhouses from Devon.

I have Earl and Mary (McWilliams)Parkhouse w/ children Earl Jr, James, Lois, Mary and Harold in the 1930 census in El Paso. Also with them are Bernadean McWilliams Byus and her daughter Joan....these are my mother and grandmother. Does anyone have info on the McWilliams family? I believe Mary and Bernadean McWilliams father (George) died in 1908 and they were in a 'home". Later Bernadean married Menno (Bob) Heiken from El Paso. Thank you for any info or thoughts on where to look next.

Hi Liz,
I now know my gggrandmother, Elizabeth was born in Uffculme, Devon in 1821. Her parents were Samuel and Mary Parkhouse, (nee Howe). Jane, Elizabeth's daughter, was born in Taunton, Somerset in 1848. No father is listed on the birth certificate.
I've been in touch with the rector of the Uniting Church in Uffculme and, apparently, there are quite a few Parkhouses still living in Uffculme. There were several Parkhouse families in the 1800s in Uffculme and neighbouring villages. Not all were related to each other.
Elizabeth died in London. Pip

My gg aunt, Lillian R. Barrett, m. George Thomas Parkhouse January 18, 1902 in Vinton County, OH. He was son of James Parkhouse and Susanna Hitch, b. May 17, 1865-68 in El Paso, Woodford Co, IL according to marriage or death cert. This is all the info I have on his parents. He died after a fall from a telephone pole in 1919. He was a widower, but had a child. Informant on death cert was Elizabeth Parkhouse - don't know if she was a dau. or dau. in law. Would appreciate hearing from anyone who is researching this Parkhouse line.

John Parkhouse, London

We have Parkhouse on the tree. The Parkhouse family home was at 37 Great Windmill Street, St.James, Westminster (Middlesex), London. John Parkhouse was an Inn Keeper. It's all a bit confusing, but it appears John Thomas Parkhouse was born 1805 and died 1869. His first wife was Elizabeth Moore, his second wife was Elizabeth Venner (from Devon). He had a daughter Rose Parkhouse born 1862 in London. Elizabeth Venner married William Bucknell and lived in Devon, her daughter Rose married William Bucknell's son. We've got photos of them. Does this relate to anyone elses information. We think John Parkhouse's father was also called John and married to Joan, but we're still sorting it all out.
