Hi there!
^_^"
I have not only an uncle frank but also a grandfather named frank. My grandfather passed away awhile ago. My uncle frank whom they call junior is still alive. I know I have quite a bit of family In arizona and new mexico as well as where I live in california. My dad's name is Akexander Moreno Parra. I also have an aunt named Becky her real name is Rebecca. My grandpa as I was told had another family in arizona as well. So my dad has a whole bunch of half brothers/sisters somewhere. I just wanna know where I came from and if anyone wants to know where they came from incase they were seriously looking or just curious like I am. I love the little family I do have but they either live very far away or just are horrible at communication. Well I hope maybe we are related. Email me at cerezaparra555@gmail.com if you wanna talk more or if anyone else sees this post and thinks we could be related. Thank you for sharing your info. Hope to hear from ya soon.
Take care,
Crystal

Parra family from Cuba

I'm looking for information on Louisa Parra. She was married to Louis Garcia who ws also from Cuba. Louisa immigrated to the U.S. in 1882. She and Louis had 5 children named Delio, Urda, Beltha, Rene & Roland. They lived in Tampa, FL then moved to Philadelphia. Please contact me if you have any information.

Update - 2011
Louis Garcia and Louisa Parra had at least 6 children, possibly 7. Their other son, not previously listed was Eli Garcia. His descendents also live in Philadelphia. Louis & Louisa did get a divorce as well and I was told only Eli had contact with him after that. Several of the family members were cigar makers in Ybor City as well prior to 1920. Louis may have also had two brothers; Abelino and Roman. Please let me know if you have anything that matches this. Thanks!

Hello, My name is Rachel Rosas. My Grandmother was Raquel Amparo Parra de Ortega. She married Manuel Nunez. She has/had lots of family around San Luis.

When she was young, she became very ill and lost her hearing. Shortly, after her birth her mother passed away. Her father ? Ortega remarried and gave her to her Tia, Leonides Parra who raised her. From Raquel Parra she had sisters, Clara y Rita, and brothers Luis and Manuel. Her Tia Leonides was married to Cleotilde and had my Tias Chonita y Estelle, and Tios Chico and Chichi.

Please let me know if any of this sounds familiar.

Thank You!
Rachel Rosas

Hello again, this is tony Parra since my last board addition I have found a little more. In my family my uncle who passed was Geronimo (Jerry), he passed june 1992 My uncle Aurelio born in 1930 is called willie by family members. My grandfather Isidro was born in 1878 in El Carmen Chihuahua,Mex.He came thru El Paso Sept.6 1921 though not the first time because my Grandmother Josefa was here with at least three kids. Together they had a huge family more than a dozen but some died at birth or shortly there after.I'm still trying to connect the (Bandit)Geronimo to our family 'cause it's a story that's been told
here and there. The dates and areas correlate well with the dates and places of my family at the time, but as you all know there are a gozzillion Parras now and he may not be related to any of us.I'll add more as I find more. By the way here's a new link for genealogy by way of the US GOV.
www.uscis.gov/genealogy.
Hello Tony,

I am Pedro (Pete) Parra from El Paso. My Grandfather Moved here about the time of the revolution. He fathered 10 kids though he himself was one of 10 kids of which most settled in So Cal. My tree is under my grandfathers name Angel
Parra.

The Parra hung in Texas is Geronimo Parra hung in 1900 at the then El Paso jailhouse. He was also the last person hung in El Paso. AN article discribing this acount can be found at

http://www.elpasotexas.gov/library/ourlibraries/main_library...

I have often wondered if I was related to him. If you are then your family tree would be something I'd very much like to look at. Do you have one?

Thanks
-Pete-

Hello..I don't recognize your Parra names, but that doesn't mean they aren't, we have a very large family. Parra's from our family were born in Chihuahua, lived in Juarez and migrated to El Paso, Tx and So. Calif. I am curious of the name Petra though, I do have a faint memory of my grandmother saying this name, but so far haven't found anything. Parra's from my family are: Beatrice P. (my grandma) Manuel, Simon, Angel, Ignacia,(nacha) Cruz, Eduardo (Eddy)Elijio, Juan, and a couple others. I believe the person you are refering to "geronimo" his name is Willie and if you write to Pbj, he can answer that for sure. Hope this helps..My tree is under Sepulveda.

Wow, I stumbled on this stuff from years back. A lot has happened since to distract me from my efforts. I just talked to my father Guillermo Parra son of ANGEL PARRA. Geronimo Parra was a distraction for another day. My father remembers his Tia Beatrice well. Says she lived in Southern California. My Dad ran away to California at age fifteen and lived with his Tio Manual. He worked at a carburetor shop and made 4.50 an hour in 1947. After the summer he got home sick and returned to El Paso a zoot suit vato. My Grandfather Angel Parra welcomed him back, took him to the back yard, dug a hole and made him put his zoot suit clothes in and burnt it.

Who are you and how long have you been tracing the family?

I am Pedro (Pete) Angel Parra, named after both of my grand fathers. I have a crazy dream to write a book about my grand father Angel Parra. He was the first to migrate to the US at a time when Pancho Villa ruled Northern Mexico. My tios and Tias are old and have begun to join their father and mother so time is critical in collecting facts.

I am interested to know what you know about your Grandmother Beatrice.

My current e-mail is pbjcc@hotmail.com.

@ Vivian if you are still watching I will get what info I can if you are still there.
Other than the fact that Amelia mentioned her father Cipriano being born in Arizona I have no info on the Estradas. My Dad lived with them for a short time after his parents died, so he did keep in touch with them. His female cousins used to visit him and his sisters often. Sorry couldn't be of more help.
Hi Tigerlily, I know we are related somehow. Amelia and Josie were/are my Dad's first cousins. I know both of them. When I was doing a lot of genealogy my husband and I spent a day at their house picking their brains. Can't tell you anything about Cipriano Estrado except that Amelia mentioned that her Dad, Cipriano, was born in Arizona and he never told them, they found out when they were older. That may be why you are having trouble finding info on him. Cipriano's wife, Ana Joaquina was my grandmother Bartola's younger sister. I do have info on the Ortega-Celayas, my grandmother's family and will be happy to share with you what info I have. Do you have any info on them? If you do you may have something that I don't have. I am curious as to where you fit in. You can e-mail me direct at ladyeliot@aol.com. All my family calls me Hilda.
