Fidell Parris

I am trying to find any info on Fidell J Parris. Alot of people have him as William Frank Parris & Lucinda Martin Parris' son. He in fact is not their son. In the 1880 Census he is listed as the head of household living with his wife, Margaret, son Hezekiah, mother Jane & Grandmother Phebe Griffey. Upon further investigation I found in the 1870 census Phebe Griffy listed as head of household living with her daughter Jane and her two children Fidell & Thomas. The trail ends there for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I’m trying to confirm the early origins of my Parris family tree. In particular – whether the parents of John Parris (1619-1696) & Rebecca Chadde (1620-1666) were John Parris (b.Steeple Morden, Cambridgeshire 1604-1625) & Judith ? (1599-1669) OR Thomas Parris (b.abt 1597 Framfield, Sussex, d.1671 Framfield) & Judith ? (1599-1669). There are many trees on Ancestry.com showing one or the other.

I believe John Parris (b.Steeple Morden) married 3 times: to Judith ? (1599-1669), then Ann Martyn (1603-1665), then Constance Goodwin. I think John’s marriage to Ann Martyn is the one linked to the infamous Rev Samuel Parris 1648-1719 (Salem Witch Hunt).

Excited to see this also. I have been trying to trace my mother's family for years. My grandfather was Boney Alexander Parris, b.9/28/1882 and died6/28/1948. I believe he had siblings Samuel(who was a teacher and died as a young adult), Burgin(sp?), and Dora. My understanding is that they were all form around Edneyville. My grandfather married Annie Pearl MaHaffey. Would love to hear from anyone in this line. I have never been able to find anything about them. Thanks so much.

Hello, it is good to hear from someone from my dads side of the family. I talked to Uncle Van about several years ago and he told me about the Parris re-union which is held anually. Never got any more information about it though. I am glad to hear Uncle Van is still living. My dad is Buck Parris from Saluda, NC. Let me know if I can help with providing any information, I started this thread a long time ago and got a response from Millie. She has some family information. Look foward to hearing from you.

Parris was married three times - his last wife was Maude Allen Parris and my dad is her son. He was married to Martha Dickerson first then Minnie Pettigrew then Maude Allen.

So excited to find this. I am also researching the Parris Line. My dad is the last son of William H. Parris. Buck, T.C. Roland, Harold and Van are my Uncles. My dad also had two sisters Ruby and Pauline. My dad is John Robert Parris, of the 11 children of W. H. Parris. Van Parris, of Lockhart, SC is the only living child left and he is 98 years old. I am not genealogynut66 but jujulynne@gmail.com. I am your cousin. I met Uncle Buck at one of my uncle's funerals. and I have a picture from that dad of the brothers that I could share with you. He was a character and my dad John Robert Parris told me stories about him. My dad and T.C. were very close and T.C. died before my dad. T.C. was living in Lockhart, SC. where Van lives today. My dad passed away in 2006.

My dad's' brother's is named Roland ...well that is the way I thought it was spelled. He had two sisters Pauline and a half sister named Ruby Parris DeYoung. My dad is John Robert Parris, and his father is William H. Parris.

My Father was named James William Parris...he died in 1971, married to Sandra Jean Fisher...his father, my Grandfather was named Buck Parris...my father had two brothers cleo and rudy and a sister named Jodie...who married a man named Charles Wingeir(?) and lives(d) in utica, ohio....my name is James Michael Parris though my birth name was jaimie...and I have a sister named Robyn. My great-great-great grandfather was James Parris from Dresden, Maine. (1832-1904)His father is listed as George M. Parris. I have been told someone in our family was Native American and would like to know if it is the Parris part of the family. I am looking for information on Samuel B. Parris
Birth 16 May 1697 in Pembroke, Plymouth, Massachusetts,
Death 1730 in Plymouth, Plymouth, Massachusetts
He was married to Ruth Bonney.
I have seen alot of family trees that have them removed to Va, but I'm not certain this is correct since they have his death date different and I personally could find nothing that documented him there before his death in 1730. There was a Samuel Parris married to a Ruth but this person was not documented as being in VA until after 1730 and the Samuel Parris from MA was dead by then.
I have not been able to find his son Samuel nor could I find a birth record for him. Anyone have any insight on this???

George Parris Dead

Death Claims Another of the Pioneers of Toby.

George Parris, one of the oldest inhabitants of the valley, died at Horton City on Sunday evening after a long illness of heart disease.

Mr. Parris was one of the pioneers of this section, having come here almost 35 years ago. He came from the country about Beaver Falls, where he had lived a great portion of his younger days. In that section he had followed the river, and was a boatman of considerable experience.

He was 65 years of age. Mr. Parris was three times married, the last time to a daughter of Ebenezer Stephens, who survives him, although she has been an invalid for many years. He leaves seven sons and four daughters, nearly all of whom are residents of the country around Brockwayville.

The funeral was held Tuesday, and a large number of friends followed the body to its last resting place in the Wildwood Cemetery.

Trying to locate information on Harold Frank Parris

I'm trying to locate descendants of Harold Frank Parris. He was born Jan. 4, 1909 and died in 1994. His Father was Ernest Agg Gardner Parris, Mother Mary {Shillam-maiden name} Parris. From the 1911 census his brother William Henry was 5 years old. Turned 6 in June of that year. William Henry was my Father-he died in 1985 and until yesterday I was not aware that he had a brother and possibly other brothers and sisters.I have found that Ernest died in 1931 and Mary in 1960. Please reply if you have any information on this family.

My gggf was a James W Parris who lived in Paulding, GA in late 1800s. He is sometimes confused with Jas W in Fair Play, Fannin, GA. I think they are different, though both were born in SC. My JW had wife A. E. on the 1880 US Census. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
My ggf was Oliver Walker, gf Horry Adolphus, and f Craig Walker. If I can provide any info, just message.

That would be my uncle Olin W Parris. He died in Pratt KS in 2003, having lived in Hereford TX most of the time between the war and then. He had a crop spraying business as well as a farm in Hereford.

Hello to all. Fletcher Samual Parris was my grandfather (I'm Richard Parris' son).I have a copy of Fletcher's dad, James Albert Parris' death certificate.Several important tidbits from that: born 5/16/1863, died 12/28/1941.
Wife Effie J. Parris was 64 years old at his death (he was 78!). Alberts father is shown as John Parris, mother not shown. Witnessed by Max Parris (a son).Color or race- WHITE.

Leroy would have been my grandfather (Fletcher Parris's) brother. I'm just starting to trace the family tree and find it amazing. My father was Edwin Ambrose Parris and died in 1990. He told us our greatgrandfather (James) was a full blooded indian. Last activity on this is rather old so I'm not sure you will get this. Jane Parris

O.W. is pictured in the Cadet, yearbook of the 43-J class of the Harman Flying Center at Bruce Field in Ballinger, Texas. He is a flight instructor. I'm not kin but thought this might help some researching the family.

I am trying to locate information about Margaret Parris, born in 1830 to Barnabus (not sure) Parris in Schoharie County of New York. I do not know the mother's name.
Margaret was married to Edson Davis in that county in 1848 or 1849. Margaret is my great great grandmother. The family lived in New York, town of Milford, in 1850 and then in Iowa during the 1870, 1880 and 1900 census.
Possibly Margaret had a brother David.
Any help with this Parris family would be appreciated.
