Does anyone know anything about the family of Joseph Workman?
I am interested in his daughter Phoebe who married an Isaac Roberts.

"James Workman with his brothers Joseph and Nimrod, built a cabin on the Island and planted a few acres of corn. They planted the same land again in 1795 and 1796, and in the fall of the latter year. James Workman, who was a man of family, moved his wife and children from their old home in Wythe (now Tazewell), and settled on the Island, where the three brothers continued to live until the year 1800, when they moved upon the farm now occupied by Henry Mitchell.
"History of Logan County, W.Va."by Henry Clay Ragland

I have 25 emails that contains information on the Parsley's and they may have what your looking for I would have to go
thru them and find out if James Riley Parsley is in there but I bet he is cause it starts with the first four Parsley's that came from over from across the ocean,
John Parsley and three of his brothers I believe. If you would like to have these emails you are more than welcome to have them just email me at ladybyrd937@msn.com and please put Parsley info in the subject line and I will be glad to email them to you so you can print them out and read each page and it will probably go as for as telling you who James Riley Parsley's father and mother was. As for Sallie it might tell who her parent was if they did enough research on that family now some of these emails are not complete but aleast it might help you fine what you are looking for.
BettyParsleyByrd

I haven't been doing any research for several years now ... however, a cousin, Janet, made contact and we're going to be getting together early Aug. to discuss our two McDonald lines (bros: William and James). <>For your information, William, her 3-ggrandfather, married twice, both Maupins (they may have been sisters). <>William & Polly Maupin left Jasper Co, MO and died on the Oregon Trail in 1852 with several of their children due to Mtn fever. The surviving children continued to Oregon with Syrena settling in Marion Co, William Lucas in Coos Co., Jaley/Julia in Marion&Linn cos., and Euphema's[died on trail] husband settled in Coburg, OR. <>Tidbit: I think one of our cousins found that the founders of Maupin, OR were closely related to Polly. <>Just thought you might like to know you do have cousins descended from the Parsley-McDonald family via son William. <>Finally, after all these years, more McDonald cousins are coming forth and we're starting to share information so hopefully we'll start getting clearer about who's who. <>Your email reference's Maupin Reunion... are you still having them? If yes, I can let my Maupin-McDs cousins know ... and, if interested should they contact you?
~~Lynne

Meg, Unfortunately, have had to back out of doing research for several years now--but, have a reason for trying to contact you at this time. <>Which of Williams children do you descend from? Have had contact with several lines of William & Polly McD's descendants: Serena/Cyrena, William Lucas, and Jaley/Julia (the youngest). We know their son John S. stayed in Missouri, and their daughter, Euphema, died on the trail, however, she had two children who survived and her husband, George Taylor, married a Parker and they settled near Coburg, OR. A couple others died on the trail as well. We're not sure about Mary & James because probate records indicate they survived but family records and stories say they died on the trail. <>One of Jaley/Julia's descendants, Janet, has contacted me and we're going to get together early August and possibly do some collaborating on our two McDonald lines (James & William) which would be a big help as I just have not had any time to work and/or answer anyone for so long, it's downright embarrassing. Although, outdated now, years ago I put together some dropdown charts which really have been helpful keeping track of who belongs to who. <>Kitty and I live in Portland and Janet is in Vancouver, WA. Where do you live? Oregon/Washington? Contact me at Petersonly@hotmail.com with your email and I'll share it with your cousin Janet. <>Sue Lampe (not a McDonald) did a lot of research on James & Susanna in Franklin Co, Mo. She compiled her notes into a notebook that she will scan and send you for $15. Kitty & I provided some Bible pages that we have and a picture of our 3-ggrandfather James C. McDonald and wife Jane Caldwell McD. <>Sue also made contact with another line, Jesse/older brother of James/William (this is the Winklers' connection). Jack and I talked and was going to send him some information but, again, I've not followed through ... yet. <>Obviously there's more to this story but here's not the place. <>The first 15 years that I worked on this line, I found no information except a couple tidbits in the Gall-Nothstine family book (sister Mary McD's line), so it is exciting to finally find others also interested. I'm glad you left a message and I apologize for taking so long to find it. <>Since I'm not doing any research right now, I'm not a member of Ancestry, so am not able to access the Winkler submission at this time but it's good to know something is out there.
Nolan was my granfather, he died in 2000. Elbert (Preacher) died a few years later. Aunt Rose is still alive and living in Alabama I believe. I'm not sure if Aunt Celeste is still alive but she was last I heard. I haven't seen her since my grandmother passed in 1999. I'm not sure who Genise is but, I believe that they had a sibling that may have died young? We don't really know alot about their parents because my grandfather was the youngest. Can you offer me any information on them?

Hi there! Did you ever get a response for this? Pansy married my great grandfather, Moses Elbert Parsley in TN. They both died of TB. I'm not sure exactly how many children they had because I haven't met them all. My grandfather was Nolan Parsley. I know he had a brother named "Preacher" but I believe that was a nickname, and a sister named Rose. They all kept in touch that i'm aware, we just never saw most of them. I think there may have been 5-7 children? I can get more info from my dad if you are still looking!

another thing, you have to watch for other spellings, they could be transcribing errors, it is hard to make out some of the styles of written letters. If you leave out the r in Parsley you will get quite a different list you see.

My name is Jeff Smith, I am looking for some information on a Clarence W (Wesley) Parsley. All I know is that he was born in 1909 and died in 1993 somewhere in California. If you are willing to share some information or just point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. I am doing this for my fiancee', Suzan Soles, her mother was Patricia Parsley and Patricia's father was clarence.
