Farrow Family

Farrow family descendants might be interested to know that Joseph and Judith Farrow's son Benjamin married a Mary Ives. They had two sons I know of - James and William (b. 1831, d. 1893). William, my great-grandfather arrived in Australia, perhaps as a seaman, where he married my great grandmother Emma Prosser. My mother always maintained that there was an American connection, and it appears that Joseph was born in Maine and Benjamin in Broad Bay Massachusetts, although both died on PEI.

Asa Partridge, Rockland, Maine

I have no connection to this family, but found this while doing other research. This appeared in the Mar. 31, 1885 issue of the Rockland (Maine) Courier Gazette in the 'Folks and Things" column:

“Asa Partridge still lies at the city farm in a pitiable condition. As is generally known he has suffered with senile tangrene, or as it is more popularly called, dry mortification, for several months. Amputations of the foot and leg have been made from time to time, hoping that the disease might thereby be chedked, but within a few hours it invariable returned to a more malignant form. The last amputation was made at the middle third of the lower right leg some three months ago. Within forty-eight hours after the options the flaps left by the surgeon began sloughing away. Since then the wound has been slowly healing from the edges, but much of it is still open. To make matters still worse the disease appeared on the heel of the other foot about a month since, and has now developed into an ugly looking ulcer, which thus far has refused to heal. Notwithstanding his critical condition the old gentleman’s courage remains good, and he is very patient and cheerful. He also has an excellent appetite and retains his strength to a wonderful degree.”

Zelotes B. Partridge is actually listed as Z. B. M. Partridge in the 1860 census. He is residing with his sister Augusta in the home of Lucy H. Goble.

http://search.ancestry.com/iexec?htx=View&r=an&dbid=...

Lucy is likely his mother, Lucy Ann Seavey, and Goble is probably her new married name... the year of birth matches up. Zelotes is the son of Charles Paine Partridge and Lucy Seavey. Charles descends from the George Partridge of Duxbury, MA branch of the Partridge's.

Dennis

HI David,
I'm Kate's cousin, Jane. Charles was not born in England. His Partridge family has a long history in New England and MI prior to his marrying Anna Ayre in MI. Anna was born in County Durham England. If you could correct the various fam. trees, that would probably be good. I think it's amazing you are investigating all this and filling in the various gaps. If you'd like more information, let me know. I'll fill you in on the details of what I have.
JJ VanHorn

Dear Dennis,

I appreciate your asking for the article on Lois L. Berry to be posted. It confirmed my sister's input. Lois was my mother's first cousin. My grandmother Lura Helsley Rogers (married John C. Rogers) was her aunt. I spoke with her sister Ruth Partridge Lohr's (Milton Joslin Lohr) son, Bernard, some years ago at a cousins gathering. Bernard told me that Lois married once more late in life, Rosenstiel, and she never had any children. Her other sister was Mary Partridge Codd (Charles Codd). Bernard told me that Alma and Ralph were married in Los Angeles. I have a Kern County census record for Ralph, 49, farmer, & Alma, 38, Partridge in 1920. Lois L. Partridge, 21 is living at home and working as a bookkeeper. Ruth E. is 16 and Mary 11 years old.

If you have Ralph W. Partridge information I would appreciate your sharing. I could not reach the www.partridgenest.com site.

In 1920, John W. was living in Carroll. The info on the 1920 census said his father and mother were born in Georgia, but I know my grandmother said Carrie (her grandmother) went to her grave with the name of his father. It's frustrating, and I know it will probably be impossible to find!

I conducted a search for Carrie in my Partridge database and struck out. But there were several Partridge families at that time that used only initials in official records.

Do you know the town or county in Georgia? There were quite a few different Partridge families living in GA back then, and having a more specific location might give me a better idea of where to look in my paper files.

I am hitting a dead end. I have in my family tree, Pearl Partridge Hobbs, whose father was John W. Partridge. He was born in Georgia in 1869. His mother was Carrie Partridge, not married at the time. She wouldn't tell who his father was. She later married a Henry Wray. I cannot find any information whatsoever on a Carrie Partridge. Does anyone have any information?

I am looking for information on Lucy Marie Partridge who was born in 1893 in either Philadelphia PA or Richmond VA. Lucy had ties to the Partridge family in Randolph Vermont where she is buried. She was the daughter of Edward Anson Partridge. She married Frank A Epps around 1920 and had two children, Frank Jr and Charlotte. Frank was born in 1893 and graduated from U-Penn in 1916. Lucy Marie divorced Frank and died sometime between 1929 and 1930. Lucy is my paternal grandmother and any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have a Homer E. Rheubottom who was married, but I don't know her name yet. My Homer was born in about 1864. It appears that quite possibly there were 2 Homer Rheubottom's in the area (or one very creative one). There was an apparently younger Homer Rheubottom who was married to Agnes ___. In 1910 she was living in Rochester, NY.

Thanks for the information.

We are also connected to John 1767. Send me a message on the ancestry message system. In my research I was able to locate John 1767's final will and testament. It is very interested and written in old english. It is one of the earliest wills on record in Ontario.

I came across your post while researching George Wakeman Partridge. I do not have any more information regarding Mary Ellen Partridge, but I do have info on her brother, Frederick Horn Partridge. If you would like to exchange info, please email me at mychll33@aol.com
