Hi,

I didn't get a direct match on the DVD EMIBAS with Thages birth data that you gave, do you know when he immigrated? Do you know the name of his parents or siblings?

I found this family which MAY be your Tage.

Let me know if it is or not or if you have more information that might help the search and I'll try again. Once you nail down where they came from its not that hard to find Tages grandparents, parents siblings, their children etc in order to find living descendants in Sweden.

Here is the information that I found on the EMIBAS DVD that MIGHT be your Thage

Carl Pålsson (another way of spelling Paulsson), b. 13 FEB 1862 in Ausås, Kristianstads län, Skåne
Amalia Hammarström, b. 18 SEP 1864 in Björnekulla, Kristianstads län, Skåne

Their children
Hugo Algot Waldemar, b. 29 JAN 1884 in Väsby, Malmöhus län, Skåne
Charles Arvid Wald, b. 10 MAY 1885 in Raus, Malmöhus län Skåne
Tage Rudolf, b. 5 SEP 1887 in Raus, Malmöhus län Skåne

The family emigrated 13 AUG 1889 from Raus, Malmöhus län, Skåne to the US

Finding Tages grandparents wills will also tell you more about where their children are located and the Swedish relatives might be able to give you further clues how to find direct descendants

Anna
Not related to this family

Hello,

I think I have a photo of the John Paulson you are looking for. I believe he was married to my gr.gr. grandfather's first cousin. Her name was Anna but also must have used the name of Ada. Their daughter was Petra or Patty. The daughter and mother both died in Oklahoma. John Paulson was said to be living in California after that. His wife died I believe in 1900. How are you connected to the family? I also would like to know as much information as you have about him.

Best Regards!

Clark Monson

I am looking for information, specifically a photo, of John A. Paulson who lived in Minnesota between 1853 and 1900?
He was born in Grue, Norway in 1840 and immigrated to Michigan in 1850. Three years later his family moved to Decorah, IA and Paulson travelled to Minneapolis. He served in the Civil War and later settled in Willmar, MN in 1867. He lived and operated a store in Willmar until he moved to Minneapolis in 1884. He was involved in many mining and real estate ventures, such as the American Realty Company, the Port Arthur, Duluth and Western Railway and the Gunflint Iron Company.
Paulson married his wife Ada (or Addie) in 1868 and they had one daughter Pelia (or Pattie) born in 1872.
I've acquired more information since posting my query in 2007. My oldest Paulson is Nils Palsson born 1853 in Valluv. He died in Orkelljunga in 1929. His children were born in Denmark and in Sweden. They moved to Ramlosa Brunn sometime after 1885 and were there until about 1904. Please share what you find as it may have been Palsson relatives that brought them to Orkelljunga.

I am currently researching my Paulson/Palssson ancestry. My great-aunt Wendla Raasch's maiden name was Paulson, and her family farmed in Orkelljunga. Wendla's daughter's name was Gerda, I wonder if perhaps we are related? If Alfred/Albert's daughters could have been born in the 1880s, then he might be my direct ancestor. Wendla's sister Elizabeth Ida was born about 1887.

I am not sure if this helps at all currently, but I am reading through the Swedish church directories from that time to find Wendla's and Elizabeth Ida's parents. So it may well be that our trees will connect eventually!

where can I locate Nels/Niels Paulson ?

I have posted many queries over the 30+ years I have been looking... even thought getting World Ancestry would help, but no luck.I have tried all sorts of variations of spellings of the names as well.I simply cannot locate this family!

This is all I know about my great grandparents:
Nels/Niels Paulson b. Denmark, not sure on dob, but first child b. in Sep 1966 in Wisconsin, so I estimated dob at 1834.
He married Johanne/Johann Oleson ? ..she b. in Denmark.

They had Pauline Paulson Sep 1866 in WI, then Anna C.Paulson 20 Dec 1867 in WI and last my grandfather Maurice John Paulson b. in Racine, WI 8 Oct 1871.
The parents both died by the time Maurice was 10 yrs old.
The children were sent to relatives to live.

My problem has been I cannot find any hard record of their parents, Nels & Johanne Paulson. They must have been one of those who slipped through the census. So I can't go back any further, any suggestions? Thanks!

Kathy, hi again. We corresponded here on ancestry.com quite awhile back.

My grandmother, Marie Glenz (maiden name Paulson) was also Norwegian. So they must be related somehow. I was wondering if you had learned anymore since this posting (way back in April 2003!).

I've now got her information up, as well as a couple photographs. I've attached one here, too.

Best of luck with your search, as well!

Terri
tparbs@comcast.net

Paulson - Skildom

Found your note regarding search for Paulson family in MN.
Carrie Skildom 1830-1916 is my GG Grandmother via her daughter Carrie Skildeim 1856-1902 who married Peter C Olson. [Luv the name/spelling changes]
Carrie Skildom 1830-1916 is listed in the 1900 census as being the grandmother to Jacob Paulson and Severina Paulson nee Skildom. Until I found that census statement I was not aware of a Carrie having a daughter Severina.
I have listed Carrie as being Severina’s mother but am uncomfortable with this conclusion.

Can you add anything to this data?

Is this your Paulson family? Any Skildoms living in your area.

The Olson family moved to Northern Saskatchewan – I live in Ottawa.

Cheers

George Prudat
