Re: Luke Peak m. Nancy Ballew

Luke Peak and Nancy Ballew are my G-G-Grandparents. Their son, William Louis Peak, is my G-Grandfather. I believe (i.e., CANNOT PROVE) that Luke is the son of Lewis Peak, and grandson of Abel Peak. Abel is either brother or nephew to your Jacob Peak. Can't find out what happened to Luke, but Nancy later married John Calvin Barger. Nancy Jane Ballew is the daughter of Isaac Lemon Ballew and Mary McClure.

Hi Cindy,
William Peek, Son of Elizabeth, is my g-g-grandfather. He and his family moved to Tecumseh, Nebraska around 1870. I have searched for a long time to find his father's name. There were a number of Peeks (Peaks) in Scott Co., Illinois; all of whom were from Tennessee originally. What information do you have to lead you to believe that Murphy was the father's name. I know this is the correct family and that Minerva was William's sister. I'd apprciate any help you can give me.
Oh no, I took care of that too. Right after I deleted
your emails, I emptied the trash can. Then I started
wondering if those emails were from you. Anyway, I got
them this time around. How many pictures do you have?
I received four - two emails with two pictues each. But
I received the second set five times! As you can tell,
it hasn't been a good day on this end! Would you mind
just mailing them? My goal is to get as much family history
and pictures entered on Ancestry.com as I can, especially for future generations.

Sincerely,

Larry

Just got a notice of this string from my "cousin" Linda. Thought I would put in my 2 cents... Aaron Peak (b circa 1844), to the best of our knowledge, is the son of Samuel Peak/Peek... Samuel b. 11 Mar 1787...and died 14 Jun 1861 in IA. Wife of Samuel, Mary/Margaret "Polly" Hildreth, b ca 1795/7; died 21 Feb 1874, Appanoose Co, IA.

My records go as far as Jackson P Peak and Phoeba's child Mary...but no further info...more info would great!

I'm from Aaron, Joseph Peak, John Alfred Peake, and my father Howard Sr.; if anyone wants more information or has some to share, My email is hpeake6@live.com.
We are also looking for the Peake family, this is what I have found so far. They were Pocomoke Indians from Maryland, the Chief was Jeremy Peake, something happened forcing them to move to PA, because of the way they were treated, some choose to pass for white, George Peake, who was not an runaway slave as history would have us believe, choose to tell people he was of mixed blood or mulatto. George Sr had four sons, George Jr married Hannah, Joseph married Eleanor, James married Nancy Agness, and Henry married Ruth. My greatgrand mother was a part of the Peake family. East Hickory Corners Cemetery is where A Peake, Ashael Peak, Eleanor Peak, Eleanor E Peak, Joseph Peak, Lafayette Peak, Mabel Irene, Oscar W Peak, Polly Ann Peak, Raymond Homer, Velma Peak, Walter Lafayette Peak, Willie H Peak, Delos Peak are buried. My Grandmother was Loretta Mae, she was born in Allegan, Michigan which is where Sarah Peake moved with her husband Jerual Phillips. Looking at the history of the marriages, the Peake/Peak were married to Cisco/Sisco, Phillips, Mahoney, Tuft, and Watts. When I find more info. will post. You can reach me by e-mail inspiredgift1957@hotmail.com. Hope this helps.

Hello. My name is Rhonda Stewart and I am searching the Peak/Peek line also. In my line there is a Wm. Oliver and a Claude. I wonder if this is a part of your Peaks. I haven't pulled out my files in a long time so I can't give dates or other vital info off the top of my head. Are your Peaks from around Mississippi, Ark area? They also went other places but those two areas are where they grew up. My Wm. Olivers father is I believe named Claude and his father is either John or Frank. Without my records I can't be positive. If any of this sounds familiar let me know and will dig out the ol tree and give it a once over to compare. Thank you.

The younger James K. was the son of Absalom S. Peak also a son of Luke and also known as Standefer A. Peak born 1855. Standefer married Sarah T.
Need Help With Peak Tennessee Ancestors

I am puzzled with my Peak ancestors. My grandfather is Earl Roger Peak b. 07 Dec who wasn't married to my grandmother, Pearl Marie Holloway. They had one child, my mother, Connie Marie Sutton. My grandfather's father is Condon Young Peak b. 21 Sep 1915 d. 17 Dec 1983. Condon Married Grace Mae Clark (b. 13 Apr 1919 d. 18 Oct 1991). They were both buried at Old Friendship Church Cemetery in Spring City, Rhea, Tennessee. Condon's parents are J. Polk Peak and Edna (I think her maiden name was Janow). Polk was b. 11 mar 1881 and d. aug 1965 and Edna was b. 1899 and d. 1982.

When I research up on them I get a different birth date that is 20 years less than what it says on his tombstone. This is causing a lot of conflict with my research and could use any help that anyone can give me. E-mail me at LadyHunter423@aol.com and put in Peak Line Help in the subject line please or respond to this thread.
