Denis,
I am also a descendant of Ludger-Luc via his son Henry and grandson Ralph. I'm stuck going back any further than Jean-Baptiste. The understanding I have is that Jean-Baptiste was in the 7th generation of Pellerins in North America.
Jim Burr (grandson of Ralph Pellerin)
P.S. Thanks to Sylvie for starting this thread!

I have also found Etienne's parents listed as Francois (ca. 1616- ) m. 1636 Jehanne (or Jeanne) (ca. 1615-). Got this from various Ancestry.com family trees, but have not yet proved the sources. The trees I saw this on include:
Reuniongedcom2 from madmegmia1; Pilger-Spevak Family Tree from terispevak; Hodnett-Price-Gauthier-Normand... from GenevaSwis; Deserre from Larry_Desaire; and RA052403P from rcamans. All of these could have taken their information from one of these family trees. I am using this information only as clues at present. The marriage date appears only in the Pilger-Spevak tree. I have the books on the families of Chezetcook, Nova Scotia done by Rev. F.J. Melancon, which have information on children of the Pellerin's who lived in that Acadian area.

Sorry, no luck thus far. Given how records were kept back then, it's entirely possible that names were misspelled/changed in translation/etc. I'd actually been looking for this Francois Pellerin to confirm whether he was the father of the Francois Pellerin who married into the Hebert family. Given the dates, it's a good chance, but I don't have the documentation to confirm this. Would you know perchance if this is the same Francois? It might give me a better idea of where to look if he is. Thanks.

For Shirley:
Found this possibility. Jean-Baptiste Caron s/o Thomas Caron and Priscille Bouchard. J-B married:

Philomene Picard [d/o Thomas Picard and Marcelline Kirouac]
4 Aug 1877 Notre Dame du Portage, Riviere du Loup.

Olympe Helene Pellerin [d/o Michel Pellerin and Marcelline Paradis] 24 Nov 1885 St Alexandre, Kamouraska.

The census would seem to indicate that Elise was the d/o Philomene Picard.

1881 CENSUS:
Household:
Name Marital Status Gender Ethnic Origin Age Birthplace Occupation Religion
Jean Bte. CARON M Male French 26 Quebec Fermier Catholique
Philomine CARON M Female French 37 Quebec Catholique
Sezare CARON Female French 10 Quebec Going To School Catholique
Elise CARON Female French 2 Quebec Catholique
Source Information:
Census Place Notre-Dame-du-Portage, Temiscouata, Quebec
Family History Library Film 1375825
NA Film Number C-13189
District 41
Sub-district C
Page Number 22
Household Number 93

Sezare, age 10, would seem to be from a previous marriage. It would probably have been the Mother's as Jean Caron would have been too young.

Chris

I am directly gggrandfather. Calixte born 12 january 1853 in St-Alphonse de Rodriguez, QC. Hermeline (Armeline) Brien dit Desrochers born 7 november 1852 in St-Jacques l'Achigan. They got married on the 10 october 1871 in St-Ambroise de Kildare, QC. Calixte died on 24 october 1935, burried on 28 oct. Hermeline died 2 june 1937, burried on 4 june. You can find all their certificates on Ancestry when you pay and open an account. It is worth it. With marriage certificates, it gives you the name of their parents and you move on from their. Hope it helps. Have a good search.

Hi, Do you have any information on Jean Caron, especially the names of his parents. From what I found so far, Jiline, maybe Philomene, but I'm not sure. If I had Jean Caron's parents, I can match them up to a marriage.

David

Hi Judy,

Maybe we have someone in common - it's fun to find out!
As I stated, Hattie E. Pellerin was my grandmother. In the 1910 census, her father, Pearl Pallesen, was living with her and her spouse, George F. Patrick. Hattie's maiden name was listed as Pallesen, also. However, there are alternate spellings. On the original handwritten census, it is written Pearl Pallerin - stating his parents were born in France. However, that's all the info I have to date. Maybe you can shed some light? I hope.
Barbara Patrick Lee

I have Etienne's parents (unproven) as Francois Pellerin m. Jehanne ________ . I may have picked up that information from the LDS Church IGI (which is usually to be used as a clue if member submitted information), or from Father Melanson's "Genealogies of the Families of West Chezzetcook, N.S.: Bonnevie, Boudrot, Breau, Clerge, Faucher, Grenon, Maurice, Pellerin, Richard, Robicheau, Surette" (and again, Father Melanson may have made a guess based on what evidence he could find.)
