Will the real William Penn please stand up

Surnames: Penn, Acton, Pearsall, Marriot, Chalfont, Chalfort
I am an Acton via my paternal grandmother, and like soooooo many others on here, I've discovered a possible connection to William Penn the Founder. I have a Sir Henry Acton II being married to Ann Marriot Penn, who was supposedly William's daughter. However, all my ancestry connections show this William Penn as dying in 1696.... but the "real" William Penn was supposed to have died in 1718. Also, my connections show that Ann's mother was Ann Marriot Chalfont Pearsall, married to William in 1656.... but William would have been only 11 or 12 so I seriously doubt the validity of this claim. In addition, I can find no record of William Penn being married to Ann Marriot Pearsall, and the Wikipedia entry for William Penn makes no mention of her, nor does WilliamPenn.org.

So who is my William Penn then? Can someone please help? Thank you!!
