Frank is pictured in the 1916 Review, yearbook of Ball High School in Galveston, Texas, and is a senior. I'm not kin but thought this might help someone researching the family.

I am a great-granddaughter of Edward Louis Pickney. And grandaughter of Pearl Victoria, Myrle's sister. Their mother was Martha Ellen Stuart who died when they were very small. On the Pickney side. Edward's father was Julius Pickney son of William X. I used to have a photo of him but lost it somewhere. He was a tiny man.

Hi Philippe! Your posting is from 5 years ago almost, but maybe you will still get this. I'm trying to piece together my grandfather's family tree. His mother was Myrtle May Pickney 1895-1989. Her father was Edward Louis Pickney 1872-1958. I have found info suggesting his father is Charles Luis Pequigney. Charles father is Francois Xavior Pequigney. Not sure if you have traced down to Myrtle May pickney or have any more info on the Pickney's, but that would be great. I've just started researching family history and am excited to hear I have French ancestry. I love France! Well I only had the privilege to visit Paris once last year, but I loved it. I love the language, (though I took 5 years in high school and college, I have forgotten so much) the people, the culture, everything! I've wondered why I have this love for France. Perhaps this is the reason why! I have French blood down the line! haha =)

Hello to all distant cousins,
I don't know if this is useful, but i had a quick look a Castle Garden records and found
- a Victor Simonin arrived 11.4.1866 on ship Cella,
- on the same ship was a Marie Pequignot.

Pequignot is alas a very common name in that part of France. Without any hint (place of birth, age...) it will be difficult to ascertain her parents.

I am a great great granddaughter of Francois Xavier Pequigney. He and his wife, Rosalie Deloye, are buried in a cemetary in Winchester, Tennessee. We know that they sailed from France in 1854. Sometime between the time they landed in the US and 1880 the spelling changed to Pickney. There are many many descendants of this couple.

I passed your query to the mail group dedicated to genealogy in the area of Champagney (group called Servancnautes ).
They found a :
Simonin Victor born on 27 may 1837 from Louis Simonin, aged 41, farmer, and Marguerite Florentine Labbaye aged 35.
But still no wedding. Do you know where this wedding took place ?

No, we do not have anything on the marriage of Victor's parents - in fact, yours is the first confirmation of his parents names we have. Victor married Mary Pequignot/Pequigney in Ohio, USA, in April 1866 and their first born was a boy named Louis born in Missouri the following year.

My GGF Victor Simonin was born in Champagney, France, in 1837. We thought GGM Mary was a Pequignon but we have found a number of Pequigneys in the 1838 - 1842 civil records. Does anyone have a Simonin connection?

i did some researchs, and thanks to many other good-willing people, I have now some (still very incomplete) data on these families back to 1600's.

Don't know if you're still looking, but I am the great great granddaughter of Louis, s/o Francois Xavier (the one who came to America and was married to Rosalie [or her American name, Rosanna] Deloye). His parents names were: Francois Xavier Pequigney and Anna Grisez. That's as far back as I go currently. If you've found anything else, please let me know. Erin
