Hello.. My name is Rose. My mom's maiden is Peralta, father is Guiseppe Peralta, born in San Vito lo Capo, Sicily. His father's name is Vito Peralta. Vito Peralta was supposed to marry a Spanish princess, but he fell from a horse and injured his back. It caused him to have a hump on his back, so the princess wouldn't marry him. But her lady in waiting did marry him. Her name was Antonietta Culcasi. We don't know if Antonietta is Italian or Sicilian or Spanish. Our family on my grandfather's side originates from Castilian lineage in Spain. My mom says that could be 3 generations back from Guiseppe's father Vito. Vito's great grandfather was the son of a Spanish duke... name unknown. I am looking for any records that will link all our pieces together into a complete picture. My mom wants to locate a picture of the family crest. Can anyone help me with information?

I've been looking for any family history regarding the last names Peralta and Calderon in the Province of Santiago, in Dominican Republic. What I'd really like to know is how did they come to settle in that region, how long have they been there, and if their name Peralta comes from Spain or Italy. Any other historical information regarding the surname Peralta would be helpful.

Hi :] my family is the true bearers of Peralta from Spain. My great grandfather had many women thus the name being spread. His name was Juan Peralta. Peralta is from Barcelona and he was stationed in Bolivia and died there. Its rare to have Peralta as a last name, unless if you have no ties to spain, you arent part of the true bearers of the name. like garcia, many people carry that name which came from spain. Ask your parents , if not =[ sorry.

Hey there Michelle, I'm born and raised in the Philippines, and i'm also a Peralta. My grandfather's roots are from Ilocos although he and my grandmother migrated to the Negros island in the 1940's and raised their family of 12 children there. I currently reside in Bacolod City. Let me know if you want more info regarding my genealogy, etc. I think this site is pretty cool and is really looking forward for a response from you.

Joe

Hi it has been a while since I posted this message but I am happy to say I have a great deal of information I can share. Nellie Peralta was my great aunt, I only met her once when I was a child about 25 years ago I would say. Her brother Francisco was my grandfather he passed in the 1950's. I have documents and photos from my archive I will be happy to share with you. Here is my personal email address joaquinsd@hotmail.com. Our family was originally from Miraflores and San Jose del Cabo in Baja Sur.

looking forward to hearing from you Joaquin Blanco Peralta

Joaquin,

I read with interest your post concerning the Peralta family. I have been researching my aunt's ancestry for a time now and have come up virtually empty handed.

My aunt's mother's name was Aurelia "Nellie" Peralta. She was born in El Alamo, BC on 5 Jun 1912. She married John F Mahan and lived in Calexico, California until her death 30 Aug 1999.

Other names associated with this family Domingo (brother), Esperanza, Juan, Roberto, Eustaquio (Brother) and Jorge.

Any information would be greatly appreciated although I fear I have little in return but what I do have will be shared!
