Melinda A. Percy was born @1837 in VT. In 1850 census in Bennington VT. she is living with her father and siblings. I can't read her fathers name but sibblings are, Charlotte b. @1834, Miranda b. @1836, William b. @ 1841 & Hiland b. @1842. Would like to know her father's name and her mother. I find Charlotte and Melinda living in Milford, Mass. in 1860 census. Can anyone help?...Sheila

Did you ever get any response? I have done a considerable amount of research on this Percy family, attempting to determine if they are connected to either my Percy line, or Capt. John Percey line..since both lines had family members in that area of Bennington county in the early 1800's. I have also been able to trace the family down to recent times. The last name is spelled incorrectly in my case. The name is PERCEY. Austin PERCEY was born in Bennington, VT. He was my greatgrandfather. He had several children and was a dairy farmer. He had sons named Leon, Clarence, Alfred and Arthur. Arthur was my grandfather and was born in 1902. Arthur married Marion Lillie and moved to upstate NY - a small town called East Schodack with a population of about 200. He became a house painter and also painted the church in the town. He had four children with Marion. They were Leon (after his brother), Gloria, and a set of twins named Patricia and Paul. Paul was my father. He was born in 1936 and sadly died in 1992. My dad, Paul, had four children - Penny (me), Gloria (named after his sister), Paula and Paul II. We are all born in East Schodack, NY and then moved further upstate to Troy, NY. We visit the gravesites in the Hillside Cemetery in Bennington, VT where all of these wonderful people are buried.
