Here is an obituary that might be related to you:

From the book: Esteemed and Regretted, (Canadian) Niagara Peninsula Obituaries, compiled by Paul Hutchinson.

Niagara Mail
August 5, 1857
p. 2

We have to record the death, at the advanced age of 101 years, of Mr. Benjamin Pickard, formerly of Niagara Township, but who for several years past had resided near Paris. Mr. Pickard was one of the few remaining U.E. Loyalists, and the last survivor of the famous Butler's Rangers, in which he served as a drummer through the American Revolutionary war. He was generally and deservedly respected, having been for sixty years a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church.

Hello
I am descended from Jeremiah Pickard of Woodhouse 1730.
His son Joseph was not the Joseph Pickard who married Elizabeth King, this was a different Joseph altogether.
The Joseph son of Jeremiah of Woodhouse married twice,to a Mary Swallow in 1789 buried Leeds Parish Church 1792,and then Ann Whittaker in 1796 buried St Marks,Woodhouse Church, described as "widow of Joseph of Woodhouse Carr.
Joseph himself being buried at St Marks 10/05/1835,described as
"married man of Woodhouse Carr, aged 76" which equates to a birth year of 1759,and Joseph son of Jeremiah was born 28/09/1758,so this is the correct age as he died in May of 1735,his birthday being September.

He married Eedhje Classen b. abt 1680 in Schenactady NY d. abt 1767. Married 12 Nov 1688 in Albany. I think they had 5 children, Bartholomew, Nicholas, Dorothy, Rachel and Gertrude. His father was named Bartholomew b. 25 Aug 1648 in Willoughby d. 16 Mar 1677 in Willoughby. Married Dorothy ?

Hope this helps Sara

Hi everyone. I have a picture of a younger girl about 9 or 10. It looks to be a school photo, a 6 x 8. It is labeled Ruby Pickard. I have a Ruby Pickard on my family tree, the sister of Annie Lou and Jennie Mae "Boots" Pickard. The problem is they were born between 1900-1910, and this picture appears to be from the 40's or 50's. Does anyone know who this girl might be? She is very pretty.

John Pickard (Pickerd) from New York to PA

I am trying to connect with anyone who has information on the Pickard (Pickerd) family from Clarion, PA. John Pickerd, married to Rosannah (Rosina) Pickerd, is listed on the 1850 census as being 62 which would make his date of birth approximately 1788. He states he was born in New York. The line I am researching is from John & Rosannah's son, George H. Pickerd, b. 1854. I have read much information on the Pickard families from several counties in New York which are tied in with the Revolutionary War and I am wondering if my John Pickerd is a descendant from one of those families.
Any help would be much appreciated... Thanks!
Lori

Elizabeth Drake Pickhard 1785-1861

The Elizabeth Drake I am seeking was born about 1785 somewhere in the new State of New York. She is the daughter of William Drake, of whom we are also seeking much information on his life prior to 1794 in New York.

The first suggestion we have of Elizabeth’s existence is a statement in the Land Petition of Richard Dowdle submitted on 14 October 1796. In that petition Richard declares that in 1794 he came with his wife, Annie Weisner Drake, and nine children to Newark (now Niagara-on-the-Lake) in the Province of Upper Canada. The children are, according to several other excellent sources, Thomas Dowdle, Margaret Dowdle Drake, Mary Ann Dowdle Howell, Anna Dowdle and Charity Dowdle as well as the two son-in-laws William Drake and Phineas Howell, and two grandchildren, Richard Dowdle Drake and Elizabeth Drake.

The several sources we have provide proofs of everyone by name on the list with the exception of Elizabeth Drake. She is not named until we read the Last Will and Testament of William Drake dated 11 July 1842 in which he bequests “my daughter Elizabeth, wife of John Pickhard of the township of Nissourie in the said District, Yeoman.”

The descendants of this marriage between Elizabeth and John Pickhard are also researching their line and have the same challenge as I. We are looking, in either the Niagara and/or London Diocese of Upper Canada/Canada West/Southern Ontario, for:

1.	Marriage record for Elizabeth Drake and John Pickhard (between 1794 and 1812),
2.	Birth records for seven Pickhard children - Jane, b. ????; Hiram, b. about 1812; Margaret, b. 1817; John, b. 1818; Lewis, b. 1819; William, b. 1820; Elizabeth, b. 1821; James Algernon, b. 1821; and Benjamin, b. 1831.
3.	Death records for both John (died between 1831 and 1861) and Elizabeth (died after 1861).

The Pickard Family research suggests that family settled in the Niagara Peninsula and migrated to the north and west into the township of Nissourie in Middlesex near London, then to Perth County. We last see a record of Elizabeth in the 1861 Census records for Blanshard Township, Perth County. The family appear to have been Methodist Church members, but in the 1861 Census Elizabeth Pickard and her family are listed as Episcopal and that she was born in 1784 in the United States. She is then living with her son James, his wife and seven children.

Name variants include – Pickard (current form in use), Pickhard, Pichard, Pikkert, Pickert and Bikkert.

This is all I have about Elizabeth Drake Pickhard.
Hi Wendy,

I can help with info on Emily Dence BAKER's family. Her father was Eli BAKER, born 30 Nov 1846 in Kent, England, and her mother was Emily DENCE, born November 1846 at Frittenden, Kent, England. Eli and Emily married 30 Apr 1870 in Frittenden. They had 10 children, all born in the USA starting in 1872. You can find them on the 1880 and 1900 census. Two of their daughters (Emily and her older sister Hattie) lived with other families and are not at the family home in the census record.

My connection is to Emily - she was the daughter of Jasper DENCE (1813-1880) and Hannah MUNN (1820-1870). Hannah MUNN was a younger sister of my GG grandmother Rachel MUNN (1814-1899). If I have got this all correct, we are 4th cousins one removed.

I have more information on the MUNN connection if you are interested.

Regards,

Keith Field in Montreal, Canada

I'm Sherry Phillips. I don't have specific information about Taylor, but John Pickard moved into Orange County, North Carolina. His brother Henry moved "a little farther south". According to my source (Dorothy Weller), they "must have moved into NC from Virginia, Maryland, or Pennsylvania. John's grandson, Henry, ultimately moved to Parke County, Indiana around 1824 with other Pickards (William, brother of Henry was one). Most were Quakers and were strongly opposed to slavery. (Parke Co. was formed in 1818.) Henry was my ggg grandfather. Was your Taylor descended from Henry or William? It seems likely that your Taylor was related to Henry and William Pickard. Dorothy Weller has left a wealth of information about the Pickards in Parke County. Feel free to contact me at nebr.homesteader@gmail.com.

I'm looking for any information someone may have on Clyde Pickard.

I don't know a ton about him other than that he married Zola Davis (although it's possible they were divorced or estranged).

I believe his birth was around 1875, give or take a decade.

It's likely he lived in Michigan.

Any tips would be much appreciated.

My grandfather (a contemporary of Harriet & Daisy) put together a family tree that goes back to the 1720's when the first Pickard in our line emigrated from France (he was a Huguenot facing a choice of a) convert to Catholicism or b) die. He took door #3 and left) They had lots of kids, so your relatives may be in there. I am still looking for the time to scan the pictures and the family tree. When I do it I'll send a copy to any 'Pickard' in my address book. My e-mail is bpickard@pickard-murphy.com

I have started reseaching my family tree and I am hitting a brick wall and hoping that someone may be able to help. My great grandmother, Harriet Allnutt, had a sister named Daisy Allnutt (born 1898). There were 11 Allnutt siblings, with two of them being Harriet and Daisy. Daisy married Howard Frank Pickard (born 1899). Harriet and Daisy were from the Cato area in New York. However, my great-grandmother moved from the area and did not remain in contact with family members. I am at a dead end. Any help with connections would be great.

They had been up in Sudbury, Ontario atop Michigan logging. I assume he went back to Michigan. After my great grandmother Odine Gauthier Pickard died in 1924 he seems to have evaporated. They may have been separated at that point. Any hints? Thanks so much. Nancy

I know Uncle Clinton would love to see you both! I try to visit him every time I am up visiting my grandmother (Dewey's wife-Edna Mae). Last time I visited, we talked about his family history and who was related to whom. He told me when I left that he really enjoyed talking about his family as he had no one else to talk with about it. He has two adopted daughters and two granddaughters and several greatgrandchilden, some of which live with him.

He is 89 years old and is in frail health so it might be a good idea if you and your mother want to visit with him that you plan a time sooner rather than later.

As for which tribe we belong to ... my aunt has done some research and it may be the Creeks. (Might explain why some of us are so mean ... LOL). But I have not found written documentation to justify this. Best I can tell, Pickard is a French name and I suspect that the Indian connection is related to the French and Indian war. I am sure there was some intermingling of the two groups, before, during and after this event.

I really enjoyed hearing from you and my Mom, Aunt and grandmother are excited to hear that we have other Pickard family around.

Take care,

Teresa

Teresa, my mother has spoke of you!! I took my mother's last name years ago. Her name is Carolyn. I am orinally from
Indiana but living in Smyrna, TN now. My mom talks about Uncle Clinton all of the time and is wanting to go visit him. My mom too had TB. Also, I am a red head (auburn) and my Uncle Don had several red headed children. Please keep me updated on your Native American reasearch of the Pickards. I would really like to know which tribal community
we are associated with. I know the Indian is there because of our bone structure and skin tone. All you have to do is look at my Uncle Don and there is no doubt!! I will let my mother know that I have found a cousin!!
