Does anyone have any information about an Elizabeth Piddington born in Cuddington, Bucks in about 1800 - 1805?
I am particularly interested in finding out when she was born and who her parents were.

She married John Stacey on 6 Oct 1821 in Dorchester, Oxon and later married John Parker on 11 Sep 1836 also in Dorchester, dying in Burcott, Oxon in 1874.

All help greatly appreciated.

I have researched the Cuddington family extensively. My Piddington family went to Lancashire - and I was stuck there for a long time, until someone recognized my Piddingtons from this board and the Piddington List as possibly being related to some she had researched in Bucks. So you never know. : ) Hopefully someone will recognize your family and be able to help.

My Piddingtons came from Northants, but I know there was an extended Piddington family in Bucks. Have a look at the IGI for some clues; there were certainly a cohort from Cuddington, Bucks.

Your father passed away in 1975 in the Philippines. Your Sister Irene Bulahan Shaver Passed away in 1994, and your brother Frank bulahan Collins. Passed away in 1997. Irene and Frank were my half brother and sister. You have other brothers who live in the Los Angeles Area. The older of those kids are Antonio Bulahan, then there is a George Bulahan Jr. who lives in the San Diego area. You also have a sister, Sofia Bulahan Gonzales (divorced. BTW I know some Piddingtons in California. Are you related to the Piddingtons?

Albert Piddington of Weston Turville Bucks

I'm looking for the death of Albert Piddington born 1871 in Weston Turville Buckinghamshire. Albert is my Great Grandfather and I'm trying to find a date of death record. He was alive in 1911 but don't know what happened to him or the family after that. My grandfather came to Canada after WW 1 and never spoke of his life back in England.

I have Joseph Russell's parents as John Piddington 1720-1786 and Ann Russell 1727. They were married in 1747 and had 6 children Elizabeth (m Richard Howes and John Webb), Mary, Alice, Joseph Russell 1749 (m Ann Chapman), John 1751-1817 (m Elizabeth Tyler and Elizabeth Dudley) and Robert 1758.

John born 1720 parents are John 1686-1732 and Alice Gilbord.
Ann Russell's parents are Joseph Russell and Mary.

My Great Grandfather was one of the 4 children of Mary (Emaline Mary Bailey )and Thomas Russell Piddington.

He was Samuel Russell Piddington born 1841.

He had brother Harry James born 1860 and
Thomas William or william Thomas was born 1856
Emily was born in 1844
Emily and Samuel were born in England
William and Harry were born in Essex Co. New Jersey
Look for the 1860 Orange, Essex, New Jersey Census. Harry is no name and William is Thomas W.

Buckinghamshire UK on 4th June 1799.

Catherine may have been the daughter of James and Ann Piddington of Tetsworth in Oxfordshire but this is not yet established. I would welcome any information which may confirm or contradict this and/or provide further background to Catherine's earlier Piddington family.

I don't have a William Alder (yet) but must be related somewhere.
George's (1805)parents were John Piddington (1751) and Elizabeth Dudley. He had a brother William born in 1802 who married Mary Ann ? but that is a little late for your William.
John had a couple of brothers Joseph Russell and Robert, either might have had a son born in 1791.

My name is Rose Murphy. My father's name was George Bulahan. He lived in the San Pedro area. I know of a sister who lived in the Carson area. Her name was Irene. There were 2 brothers, I think one was named Francisco or Fernando. Are you related.

I have identified two further links between our two surnames.

Alice Piddington married Thomas Greenwood on the 27th June 1633 but not sure where but because the relevant part of the Greenwood tree was centred primarily on Bucks it was probably Cuddington/Haddenham area.

Thomas Piddington married Elizabeth Greenwood at Ellesborough Bucks on the 22nd May 1701.

Hi Mike - I did check my database and didn't find this Frances - but I haven't taken many lines but my own into the 1700's. I have studied the Piddingtons of Cuddington quite a bit (with a little help from my friends) and I haven't seen the Greenwoods intermarrying with the Piddingtons other than this. The name Frances is pretty common among the Piddingtons starting with Frances Piddington who married Robert Piddington in 1602. Frances' mother Elizabeth left a will but I haven't been able to determine who her Piddington father was.

That aside - I don't think I am much help to you with the Greenwoods but I will keep my eyes open for them as I research the area.

I have noticed there are several contributors who have a knowledge of the Piddington family of Cuddington Bucks which was also a stronghold for the Greenwood family who I am researching and I am hoping one of you can help me.

Your Francis Piddington married Thomas Greenwood at Cuddington on the 6th January 1736 but that is all I know about them. I would like a little bit of detail about Francis but more importantly for me can anyone tell me anything about Thomas and his relatives because I am sure he is one of the missing links in my research. In my research of the English Piddington families - I came upon this family who lived in West Wycombe, Bucks, England. It fits for this John to be the son of Harry Piddington of Cuddington, Bucks, but that's not a sure thing.

Here is what I have found:

Wills 1601-1652 Probate Registry Lincoln
Will of John Piddington of Westwicombe, Co. Buck, smith

mentions: daughters Joane, Agnes Adkins, Jane Pearce or Pearcie, son John Piddington. Grandchildren: John Adkins, Christopher and Thomas (Adkins - brothers of John)

Witnesses: Robert Cooke, John Adkins and Daniel Pearcie. Proved 26 Sept 1611

Additional information on this family:

West Wycombe Parish Records:

Burial - March the 1st day Judith Piddington buried. - 1601. (The date reads 1601 but in sequence is where 1604 should be.)

Wedding -12th Day May Daniel Pierse and Jane Piddington - 1606

Burial - 30th day of July John Piddington buried - 1611

There is also a marriage for (son) John Piddington on the IGI in West Wycombe, 17 June 1610 to Elizabeth Coker.

i have been tracing my nans family piddington back to winchendon to john and debra[deborah] and all their descendants. john was an agriultural labourerer and she was a lace maker as were their children. john was born c 1812 so i presume there were brothers and sisters but do not know who they are. michelle schofield

james seems to have been johns cousin, johns dad was william pidd married to sarah syred. one of his brothers james b1802 married alice holyman and their son was james b 1813 cuddington. most of the piddingtons of course around this area are related somewhere and of course they mostly had large families

New Jersey Piddingtons

I am looking for information on the ancestry of brothers Harry J (b.1860/62) and William T Piddington (b. 1856)who lived in NJ. I have found that in the 1880 census they were living in Piscataway with their widowed mother Mary (b. 1822). They may have immigrated from England to upstate NY and moved to NJ from there. There was said to be another brother who may have eventually settled in Canada. Does anyone have any info?

This is a page from the 1682 case of Piddington vs Piddington in Buckinghamshire. It was a case where Richard older brother of Thomas Piddington was upset because he did not get the lands he felt like he deserved in his Uncle Robert Piddington's estate. They were willed to Richard's younger brother Thomas instead. This is very difficult to read. I would apprecaite anyone's help. Linda

Mark - That is the right family. Deb Adrian is closely related to you. There are a few of us who descend from this Piddington family. Our immigrant ancestor is Matthew Piddington and his wife Elizabeth Oldham. They are both buried in the (small) Piddington-Bowmer cemetary on the old Piddington farm outside of Platteville. My line comes through Matthew Piddington's daughter Mary who married Harmon Bowmer. I am delighted to meet another cousin. Deb has sent us a lot of early pictures of the Piddington family.
