Looking for information regarding my grandfather Atanasio (Nacho) Pimienta. He was born May 2, 1904 or 1906 in Tecolotlan, Jal., Mexico. His father's name I believe was Cristobal Pimienta who came from Spain or maybe the Canary Islands. I know he had siblings that were still in Mexico but as now I don't have any info on them. If anyone can help I would love it.

Hello - I too am researching family... My husband's grandfather was Alexander Marcos Pimienta. It is our understanding that he was born in 1911 in South America (possibly Columbia) and came to the US, lived in New York before relocating to CA. He died in 1970, was a war veteran and is buried in the Veteran Cemetery in Los Angeles, CA.

IF you have any additional information, I'd LOVE to have it! I am only able to find a SS death information and nothing else on him! Also searching for information on his daughter, Evelyn Marie Pimienta, my Mother-In-Law, born in France. I've just begun my search and I'm very excited to find the number of people doing these searches and locating "missing" relatives!

Ruth Craig

Pimienta information

Well I began to do a little more indepth research into the my mother's family name and I came out with some intresting stuff.
Apparently the name Pimienta is Spanish (duh) and the family came from Portugal. They were Jewish and were forced into exile or they had to change there
name in accordance with the law. This name was a single famile and anyone with the name Pimienta is related. Afterwards the family got big into the military
because this would give them power. They immigrated to Cuba, Mexico, and South America because they would be given a higher status in these newly forming countries.
The family also liked to gamble and they lost a lot of money and power because of this problem. Perhapes that is why the immigrated to these new colonies?
If anyone has any further information please contact me at Bluephox@aol.com.
Thank You.
