Joseph Pittam Newhaven Sx

Joseph Pittam is recorded on the WW1 dearhs in Denton Church. No other information, not listed on CWGC. Looks like he died in Woolwich 6/1919(from FreeBMD) only one that fits, so possibly died of wounds at Woolwich Army Hospital. Any one got him in their tree, he would have been born 1994-6.

Julia, All of these listing for Hiram Pittam, etc. are from the USA. The family originally came from a little corner of England centered around Towcester, Milton Keynes. Both Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire. I hope this helps in your search. Sharon

hello!

as you can see, my surname is Pittam. i wondered if there was a connection?

i have a brother and a sister, my dad's name is Alan. he was evacuated to the new forest during the war. but orginally, his family came from streatham/brixton. his dad, Albert Pittam, died of TB before he was born. Albert Pittam is the farthest back Pittam I know.

I am trying to find information about Edward Pittams of Maidford Northants. He married Elizabeth Whitehead in Towcester on 13/05/1762. I believe his parents were John and Maria Pitham who married in Litchborough northants on 01/01/1736. Does anyone have further information?

I recently connected to the Pittam's of Northampton through Rosannah Pittam (Pitham) b. 1834 in Pattishall, Northampton. Rosannah is the daughter of Thomas Pittam (b. abt 1802) and Mary (b. abt 1799). Both parents are listed as born in Northampton. Rosannah married Thomas Folwell in December 1854. Civil Registration lists them as married in Towcester. I'm looking for any information on Pittams that connect to Rosannah, and specifically on her immediate family.

I would think these people are very probably related since the surname is an unusual one. If you have read other postings you probably realize that the Baud line is not actually related to our Pittam line but is just a piece of information that we discovered in the process of doing research. However, I would think that looking at the area around and including Whittlebury, Northamptonshire would be very useful to you. Hope this clue turns out to be helpful to your research!

I think I am back on line now. Did you ever send the article

I tried to upgrade to Netscape 6.1 and lost everything I had on

Edward Elizabeth Pittam

My gggrandparents came from England in 1835. I think they came from Northhamptionshire near Towcester. They brought my greatgrandfather James Harrison Pittam born 1821 and other children.
They settled in PA or NY. James Harrison Pittam settled in Hancock Co. Illinois. He married Miriam Smith Huckins from NH. They had several children, including Orville Altimonte Pittam.
I would like information about the other children of Edward Elizabeth. Also any information about family in England.

Pittam, his father, or Edward Pittam, his grandfather who
came from England 1835. I am sure there were other children
of Edward but the only one I have is James Harrison b. 1823
in Northhamptonshire.

The only information we have on Grace Parker is her marriage to Hiram Clarence Pittam, February 16, 1902 in Smartsville, Nebraska.

I'm actually looking for a PITHAM family, but the KENT connection might be a possibility.
Grandad's brother Edward (Ted) WARLAND married a Doris PITHAM in the 1920s or 30s, in London. My Warlands had lived in south London, and my grandparents were in Kent for a time.

I do not have any information about Joseph Pittam, but my maiden name is Baud. My great grandparents came from England. My great grandfather was Benjamin Thomas Baud, Sr., born June 12, 1861, in North Hampton, England. He married Harriet Stenton, born April 16, 1861, in Sheffied, England. They moved to Canada and had several children, including my grandfatherr who was born in Montreal, Canada. Later they moved to Maine. I wonder if your Baud relatives and mine may be related. I belive, but am not positive that my great great grandfather Baud's name is Price Baud. He would be the father of Benjamin.
