Evy,
I'm sorry that I haven't answer your post earlier, but until today I haven't checked this forum for some time.
In the tree of Polonczyk family, which I've been working on, and which reaches back to the 18th cent, all of those tree surnames you have mentioned (Stoch, Podsadecki, Lichon) appears, because all of them have been quite popular in Dobczyce. There are still people in my town who bear this surnames.
Do you know any dates concerning your ancestors? For example your greatgranfather's date of birth or when he left to th US? Have your greatgrandpa married in Poland or in the US?
If only I'm able to help you,I'll do it with pleasure.
Greetings,
Elzbieta Polonczyk-Moskal

Elzbieta,

You seem very knowledgeable about families in Dobczyce. I have been trying to research my great grandfather Stefan Podsadecki from Dobczyce. His parents were Jan Podsadecki and Pryska Lichon/Lichin (maiden name). Do any of these names look familiar to you? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Evy

thank you for your information. Any further information would be truly appreciated. It has been difficult gathering information from Poland and I appreciate any help I can get. If you would like the information I have on my grandfather's family here in the United States I would be willing to share. From my understanding my grandfather stayed in the US with his children while his wife Anna returned to Poland to take care of a sick child that was left behind. Shortly afterward he married my grandmother Zofia and had 8 more children with her. They are sadly all gone now. The cousins have scattered and most do not stay in touch. I have two cousins who are also interested in the family history so any information I get will be passed on to them. Their grandparents were Stanislaw and Anna Grandys.
Thank you very much
Debi von Linsowe
Greetings from San Jose California United States

Hello Debi,
It’s likely that your grandfather is Stanisław Polończyk, son of Kryspin and Zofia, born on May the 4th in1877 in small town Dobczyce (where Polonczyk family has been living for at least three centuries and where I live, located in southern Poland. Before his emmigration to United States, on October the 2nd in 1901 Stanisław married Anna Grandys, who was 18. In my research on Polończyk family’s tree I have been looking into registers of christenings, marriages and funerals in Dobczyce’s parish since 1784. I noted down all people called Polonczyk, who were christened, married and buried in Dobczyce in the period from 1784 to the beginings of 20th century. If you wish, I will send you more information on Stanisław Polończyk, his siblings, parents and grandparents). I’m ready to share my finds with anyone intersted in Polonczyk family history.
Greetings from Poland,
Elzbieta Moskal (born Polonczyk).
Hi,
I sent an earlier reply to your message. I am looking for information about my grandparents. My grandfather Stanislaw was born in Poland and came to the USA with his wife Anne and his children. Anne returned to Poland and we do not know what happened to her. My grandfather then married my grandmother Sophie Ujas who was born in the USA and moved to Poland when she was four and her mother died. She returned to the USA when she was an adult and met and married my grandfather. His name was spelled Polonczyk but we do not know if that was the correct spelling. My father spelled his name Polanczyk. We think that my grandfather was from Zebrzydowskiej but we are not sure. If you have any information please email me at vlmachin@pacbell.net.
Thank you,
Debi von Linsowe

Kamila,
I am doing research on my family and found that my grandfather Stanislaw was born in Poland but spelled his name Polonczyk. I do not know if it was misspelled when he came into the country (USA) or if it was spelled that way in Poland. We believe he was from Zebrzydowskiej. My grandmother Sophie was born here in the USA but was raised in Poland after her mother died. I do not know where in Poland. Her name was Sophie Ujas. If you have any information or know of a family connection please let me know as there are a few of us cousins working on this family tree and would love to be able to connect with family in Poland.
Debi von Linsowe
vlmachin@pacbell.net

My great uncle and grandpa joined the army and marines and they misspelled their names Polanczyk. Ever since they kept their names that way because it was to hard to change it back the correct way with all the paper work. My family has lived in the chicagoland area for many years and my grandfathers name is Thadius J Polanczyk (Polonczyk) who had just recently past away in the last 2 years. If you would like to have a conversation, please E-mail me and we can set up an Im chat or something else of the sort. MJPEGWRESTLER@AOL.COM
Kelly,
I'm having a hard time researching family line. I had an uncle named Steve but his wife was Estelle and I'm not sure of their kids names. My grandmother was Sofia Ujas and she was born here in the United States. My grandfather was Stanislaw Polonczyk and he was born in Poland. They had 11 children with two of them being from a first marriage of Stanislaw. They lived in Indiana and then moved to Chicago where they both died and are buried. All but one of the siblings are deceased and she doesn't remember much. She is also in very bad health. If I come across anything that might help you or show that we are related I will let you know and if you find anything I would appreciate you letting me know. I do know that there was a town in Poland with our last name. I'm trying to find more information about that too. It's great to hear from people who are interested in finding out about their family tree. Talk to you later when I have more information. You can email me direct at vlmachin@pacbell.net.
Debi

I dad is Lawrence Polonczyk and his parents were Steven and Stephanie Polonczyk. I dont know names past them. Let me know if you think we might be related.

Family search

I am looking for information on my father's side of the family. There have been spelling differences to the last name even within the family. My father was Jerome Polanczyk but his siblings spelled it Polonczyk. His parents were Sophia (Zophia)Ujasia and Stanley Polanczyk or Polonczyk. There were approx. 13 children including step children. They resided mostly in Chicago, IL and in Indiana. Any information on this family line would be appreciated. I don't know if my grandparents had siblings that came to America or not. They both immigrated to America from Poland at different times. My grandfather left behind a wife who had an illness preventing her from entering America. He brought his children and married my grandmother upon her death. Almost all of the children and grandchildren were married, baptised and buried through St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Chicago.
