Im looking for more information on my grandfathers side of the family. He was born in or around Hazard Kentucky.I know two of his brothers names They are Larry and James Polly. Thats all i know at the moment. He was married twice and Has 6 kids There names are Ricky Polly, Rodger Polly, Rodonald Polly, Rita(polly) Schaefer, Rebecca(polly) Sparkman, and Renita(polly) Bucholtz. Looking for parents of William D. Polley, born about 1829 VT(?), married to Laura Pope 1856 Walworth Co. WI, moved to Larimer Co. CO about 1865, had a son Horatio Gates Polley who died at the age of 12. William died a widower sometime after 1900 I believe in CO.

My gggrandfather Silas H. Polley b. 1837 in Cortland Co. NY was married to Laura Pope Polly's sister, Louisa Pope Polley. They lived in Freeport, IL after the Civil War.

I can't find any information that would lead me to believe that Silas Polley (he always spelled it with an "e") and William D. Polly (he always spelled it without an "e") were brothers other than the coincidence of two Pope sisters marrying two Poll(e)ys. Perhaps they were cousins? I only know that Silas' father was named Hiram and his mother was named Salome. Can't seem to find this family together. Or find anything on William D. Polly's family.

Would love to find a connection between these two, but would settle for any information on William D. Polly's family.

Born August 13, 1939, in Monroe County, he was the son of Elsie and Claude Polley.

He is survived by his wife, Rose Marie (Webb); two sons, Michael of Hamilton and Ted of Auckland; two daughters, Crystal and Tammy, and seven grandchildren of Hamilton, NZ; four brothers, Austin, William (Mary Ann) of Bloomington, Dennis of Mitchell, Kenneth (Evelyn) of New Whiteland; four sisters, Martha Young, Joann (Herb) Scroggins, Pat Poling and Phyllis (David) Kleindorfer of Bloomington; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Harry and Samuel Polley, also in-laws Iris Polley, Gene Young and Bob Poling.

He was a 1957 graduate of Unionville High School. He and Rosie moved to New Zealand in 1966, where for more than twenty years they owned and operated a dairy farm.

A service was held March 1, in Hamilton, followed by a private cremation

Family history says that Savana left her first husband and went to live in Kentucky with her "UNCLE T" POLLY. She gave birth to her first child ABBY b. 1890 who was always told that she was not a Collins. Savana also signed the first few birth certificates as POLLY RADAR/RADER.

I am descended from Millard Collins b Aug. 5 1905 d. Nov. 17 1957 or 1959 married August 17, 1929 to Revah Pearl Collier they had one daughter Rosalie Dorcas Collier. Revah divorced Millard leaving him single and on the loose in Letcher County. Going once again by family oral history, it is said that Millard was following the car of a cousin down the road to Hazzard when both cars pulled to the roadside. Millard walked to the car door and pointed his revolver at his cousin, his cousin was holding a shot gun, both men pulled the triggers and both were killed. I would very much like to know the identity of the cousin that was killed. A copy of the obituary and/or news report which should be in the Mountain Eagle would also be greatly appreciated.

Looking for info on an unknown male Polly who married Anna Terry Williams around 1892. In the census below it appears that Anna Terry married a Williams first and had a son Irvie and then that Williams died and she married a Polly and had 2 children Tully and Ina. And it shows that she was widowed twice so apparently this Polly died sometime after 1893.

My great grandmother was Malinda Jane Polly. She married my great grandfather some time before 1893, probably in Lamar, Missouri since that is where my grandfather, Edward L. Emery was born. I can't find any link to the Polly name since I do not know the names of her parents. I am hoping someone will see this and respond. Malinda Jane and David Emery only had two children, my grandfather and his sister Elizabeth whom I believe married a "Devine" but I am not sure. Since then would be well over 100 I am sure they are no longer alive and I don't know if they had children.

Does anyone have any information on a Polly/Polley family from NY (Cortland or Onondaga Co.) in the 1800's? My 2 G grandfather, Silas Polley was born in Cortland Co. NY in 1837. I have found two of his siblings, Henry of Skaneateles, NY and Rosina Polley Travis and possbily a third sibling, William Polley who married a Laura and moved to Larimer Co. CO in the 1860's. I believe their father's name was Hiram and their mother's Salome. This was according to Silas' marriage certificate. He was married to Louisa Pope in Beloit WI in 1864 while on furlough from the Civil War . They resided in Freeport, IL after the war until Silas' death in 1890. The family then moved to Chicago. Silas and Louise's children were Frank (m. Marie Jacobi), Hattie (m. ? Gunderson) and Charlie. Most of Frank's descendants still live in the Chicago area. Nothing is known of Hattie and Charlie's descendants.

I am particularly interested in finding information on Hiram and Salome and their ancestors. Supposedly, members of the family fought in the Revolutionary War.

According to Ancestry.com in the War of 1812 there were 3 Polly's in Major Blue's Detachment, Chickasaw Indians. First is Mitcha Polly-Private, Mitchey Polly-Corporal, and Sheeko Polly-Sergeant. Does anyone have info on them?

Seeking information about Willis Polly who is listed on the 1820-1850 Boone Co., KY census and then on the 1860-1880 Pendleton, Co., KY census. He is the father of my gr-gr-grandmother Martha "Patsy" Polly Ford. The 1880 census shows his pob as VA and estimated dob 1798. I know from my grandmother that Frank had family in Kansas City and had moved back there from South Texas when he was in his late teens or early 20's. Fred Polly had a farm in San Benito Texas.

I recently found the names of my 3G grandparents, Hiram and Salome Polly/Polley. They were in NY in 1837 when their son Silas Polley was born (Cortland Co.) I have been able to find two siblings, Henry and Rosina (Travis) who were living in Skaneateles at the time of Silas' death in 1890. Silas moved to Michigan as a young man, then to Taylorville, IL where he was living when he enlisted in the Union Army in may 1861. He married Louisa Pope, daughter of H.G. and Susanna Gates, in Beloit, WI during a furlough in 1864. They settled in Freeport, IL after the war and had three children, Frank, Hattie (Gunderson) and Charlie. After Silas' death in 1890 the family moved to Chicago where most of Silas' descendants live today. The whereabouts of Hattie's and Charlie's descendants are unknown. Rumour has it that Charlie may have moved to Canada.

I'm not sure why Silas and Louisa were married in Beloit, WI. Perhaps they had relatives there. If anyone has any information on Hiram and Salome, I would appreciate hearing from you. Thanks.
