My great-great-great grandmother was a Porelli from Bassiano. Her name was translated from Italian by a cousin and may have been Porcelli. She is Leonilde (Porelli) Battisti, and her father is Antonio Porelli.

I live in the house that your father John lived in on Esty St. in Ithaca (number 413)! I've done lots of genealogy research for my own family, but I've just started looking into who lived here before, and I found a census record in 1930 with you grandparents and their children:

1930 Census – Parcelli, Alfred 49 and Viola 43 (wife) with Peter 20 (born in Italy), Eleanor 14, Mary 10, and John 8

Do you live in the Ithaca area? I'd love to connect by email. My wife Emily and I bought the house last June from the Milton family. I'm not sure who else owned the house between the Milton time and the Porcelli time.

My husbands maternal grandfather is Arthur Porcelli. He married and divorced Evelyn after 3 children in the 1940. No one knows what happened to him after. We think he had a sister named Edith?

My grandfather(Silvio) was Giuseppe (Joe) Porcelli's brother. In fact I had some contact with Mr Musella. He had asked for a picture of the grave of Assunta and Joe (they are buried in Holy Cross Cemetery in Brooklyn) which I sent him, he was going to do a couple of look ups in Italy for me but I never heard from him again. Joe and Silvio lived next door to each other on E. 2nd St in Brooklyn. Joe was a church sexton and Silvio a barber. They had another brother Liberatore (Frank) and 2 sisters Sophia and Francesca. One of Joe's daughters (Emma) is 99 living in a nursing home.

I am the first son of Emilio, Emilio was the son of Vincent, and Vincent was the brother of Assunta Musella, the wife of Joseph Porcelli (uncle Joe)

I am looking for Antonio Porcelli who would be 74 to 78 years old by now. He lived in Filey in North Yorkshire in 1950 for two years. He was very close to my family at the time and left a forwarding address of Shorwell in the Isle of Wight. He may even have gone back to Italy. Lillian, I found a John Porcelli in my line. This is the information I have on him. I don't know who his wife was but maybe you know some dates and they match I don't know.

hi i am looking for any information on Dominick Porcelli b. 22 feb 1885 d. Nov 1970. I believe he lived and died in Utica, NY. He had Thomas Porcelli on 12 Mar 1916. Thomas lived in Utica and Rochester, NY. He had two wives. The second wife is a Grotkier also of Rochester, NY who had two sons. Both divorced him and he moved to Florida where he died 14 Dec 2000.

My great uncle was giuseppe porcelli he was born in 1877 and married assunta moselli is how i have it recorded. They lived in brooklyn he died in 1963.
It sounds like assunta moselli and assunta musella are probally the same person.

I hope warmly that you are my relative because since many years my father and I we are finding our aunt Assunta. The informations that you furnish me are very reliable because also if our true last name is Musella, one brother of my grandfather was baptized as Moselli, cause the great ignorance of that epoch.
My father, that today is 84 years old, remembers aunt Assunta, been born in Naples on November 03 th 1879 and that she emigrated in USA because the union with Giuseppe Porcelli was not appreciated from the brothers ( one of those was my grandfather ).
If you connect via Internet with the site Ellis Island - on line you can see the ship books of on which are the passages
( from Ellis Island ) of aunt Assunta, like:
1) 21 February 1907 on the ship Celtic, together with her
children Antonia, Maria and the little Liberato.
In that occasion she declares that the husband, Giuseppe
Porcelli, lives at no.2 of Corrol Street of Brooklyn N.Y.
2) 08 June1913 on the ship San Guglielmo, but this time
travels alone and she declares to live
(the address is not very clear) at the no.7 of Lect ( ? )
Street of Brookln N.Y.
My father tells that coming back in Italy for a short time, aunt Assunta tried to reconcile with the brothers, but it was impossible, after that, she has returned definitely to Brooklyn.

Dear friends lovers of the search of the family roots,

I'm an Italian engineer and my name is Vincenzo Musella.

I'm searching my living relatives birth by my ancestress
Assunta Musella been born in Naples on october 20, 1879 emigrated in USA on 1907, together with her children Antonia ( 6 y.o. ), Maria ( 4 y.o. ) and Liberato ( 2 y.o. ).

Subsequently, in 1913, she has returned for a brief period in
Italy for then to make return, in the same year, definitely
in USA and, from that moment we have not had more news
of her and of his family.

The few informations that I got of my ancestress are
the followings:

1) husband: Giuseppe Porcelli (but doesn't exist evidence in Italy of their marriage);

2) arrival and recording, together to the 3 children, to Ellisisland on february 26, 1907 with ship Celtic departed from Naples (the husband was already in USA )

3) arrival and recording to Ellisisland 08/06/1913 (this my ancestress in such occasion has traveled alone) with ship San Guglielmo;

4) following one search of mine I have individualized an Antonia Porcelli born in Naples on november 03, 1899 and died on february 21, 1990, SSN 027 - 32 - 3904 and it results to have lived to Fargo in the North Dakota.

I think that this lady is the daughter of my ancestress because its date of birth seems to coincide with the daughter's age Antonia, declared in 1907 to Ellisisland
deputy from my ancestress.

Unfortunately, as far as it concerns the husband and the other children, until now I have not succeeded in finding any useful reference.

For the above mentioned reasons, I kindly ask to all those that are able to help me, to furnish all the possible datas, eventually in their possession.
